Kevin and his team (Chris who does install and Tom who produces the stairs, posts and ballusters) is THE BEST company I have ever worked with in regards to stairs and install. Highly recommend them. Would not trust anyone else as ripping out old stairs, producing new treads, risers, posts as it's a complicated process. They also have the most amazing display in their showroom of wood balusters if you like a more traditional look.

We didn’t start our staircase renovation with R&K, but we are so happy to have found them. Very professional, tried to find cost savings using the items we had purchased from initial contractor. Completed job on time and on budget, and Chris who installed the railing did an absolutely outstanding job. His work is painstaking and impeccable! The quote process is slow and waiting for an appointment was long, but understandable since they are specialists and in high demand.

My wife and I decided on getting hardwood flooring through out the house including rebuilding the staircase in oak to match the floors.
Woodchuck Flooring subcontracted RK Woodworking to do the staircase. After completion, the work on the staircase was stunning to say the least. Ryan, did everything by hand. This man is not only an installer, but a true woodworking artist. He took his time on the smallest detail, and was not satisfied unless it was perfect. This is an amazing company !!!!! Ryan built a true "stairway to heaven"

This company did an excellent job building a new oak staircase
in my home. Once we took the carpet out, new stairs needed to
be built. The job was completed on time and the carpenter
left no mess.

We wanted to revitalize the stairs between the main level and the upstairs level. They had been carpeted since the house was built 40 years ago. While the existing stairs were oak, they had been badly damaged through the several installations of carpet. RK Woodworking were able to do the work, and they first quoted from a set of detail pictures of the stairs with carpet removed. They then visited the site to ensure that the quote was correct and to explain exactly what work and materials they were proposing so that there would be no misunderstands. No changes to price or work scope ensued, so we signed off on the work. The renovation work was carried out by two experts, one who did the wood work, the other who completed the finishing (final sanding, verathane finishing coats(3)). All work was done to the agreed schedule, the specialists came on time, were very clean and tidy, polite and very professional. We were very happy with the work done. It is worth noting that we had approached others to do this work, but none of the others were selected as they either did not do what we wanted, would only do part of the work, etc

We had the main stairs installed by RK Woodworking in 2005. It was a custom job from scratch. The work was beautifully done and on time. They're not cheap but certainly reasonable and are truly experts. The stairs were solid oak. They don't do the finishing you have to hire someone else to do that but the guy they referred me to - Bob Sakaguchi - did an excellent job.
