Leaky Faucet - Big mistake calling Pete the Plumber

Called Pete the Plumber to look at a leaky faucet sink. Service person was considerably late (past the two hour time window the suggested) and I had to call the company and ask when they were going to come. The person took a look at the faucet and said they recommend changing the entire faucet. He quoted me some options which were obviously overpriced!!! Service person said he had no faucets in his van and would have to come back another day. Since I have family from out of town it was faster for me to do it than to book another appointment. Service person was only here for like 5 minutes and I was charged $115.50! Way overpriced! Went to a big box home improvement store and they recommended just changing a part versus the whole entire faucet. With a $10 part from a big box home improvement store and about 5 minutes of my time I got it fixed myself. Way overpriced and I felt that they took advantage of people who never knew any better. Definitely not worth the price that they charged!!!

$115.50

I am sorry that our technician was late and that you were not satisfied with the service. What I can say with confidence is that our rates are not unreasonable or overpriced , but I would be happy to discuss your particular invoice-Sincerely Jackie Prince General Manager-403-257-1766

Waste Sink Disposer and "No Salt" Water Softener Installation

I had these services performed a few years ago and the plumbing installation was smooth as silk. Plumber was professional, courteous and had everything he needed for expert installation. The Insinkerator and "No Salt" Water Softener were customer supplied items. I would recommend Pete the Plumber for any plumbing installs you require.

Hot water tank and toilet replacement

I hired Pete the Plumber three times for residential service in last few years. Once was for a hot water tank replacement and twice to replace all the toilets to low-flow in two separate houses. My experiences were mixed. They have different types of staff for different types of jobs. The fellow that replaced the hot water tank was very clean. The two different fellows that replaced the toilets were not clean at all. The first individual would remove all the water from the toilet using a paper coffee cup and dump it in the bathroom sink (yuck!). He also used this rag from who knows where to wipe up everything and then wring dry into the bathroom sink (double gross). He was all-around very unsanitary and I would never let him back in my house. The second toilet guy used a wet vac to remove any remaining water from the toilets (nice!), but was a bit sloppy carrying the toilets out of the house over the carpet (some spillage of residual toilet water – yuck!). Is there not a company procedure on replacing toilets so the customer doesn’t have toilet water in their sink or dripping all over their carpets? Anyway, I would absolutely recommend Pete the Plumber for a hot water tank replacement (their price cannot be beat) but not sure I would recommend them for a toilet replacement.

Approximate cost of services:
$2,500.00

Company Response

Thank yiou for your comments, and absolutely we have protocol on how to replace a toilet and very much would like to have more information as to what technicians are not following our procedures. Obviously our customer service no matter what division of service needs to be spectacular and our reputation is extremely important to us. I would be happy to discuss this further so do not hesitate to call me at 403-257-1766-Sincerely Jackie Prince-General Manager

install brand new toilets

recently moved to calgary, didn't really know any plumbers, but always saw a van with a blue hulk on it. Decided to give it a try, they provided a quote and estimated the time it would take. The service was great, I did not have to wait all day for them to come, they provided a specific time they would be there and they were there on the nose. The installers were professional and did a great job.

Approximate cost of services:
$75.00

We would never ask someone to pay overtime service unless requested-if you phone during regular hours and our technicians are booked for the day we offer after hours service if you do not want to wait till our next available appointment. I would be happy to discuss with you further if you would like to call the office . General Manager -Jackie Prince.

General plumbing

I have found Pete the Plumber to be generally reliable and not overly expensive. Last time I called, I ended up going with another contractor as the response time would have been too long. I have used them a number of times through the years, and they are fine for routine work.

Approximate cost of services:
$200.00
