We had a toilet tank water pipe burst early this spring with water had gone all the way from 2nd floor to basement, It was a disaster at the moment when you looked at in the house.

Paul was recommended by Insurance Company. His prompt response on this incident and went thru the fixing scheduled process with us in details and honest on the works needed to be done to restore my house back to “normal”. He was kind and response our concerns, suggestions and issues in a professional manner. We asked for couple changes during the restoration with no extra cost to us. Paul had kept us updated while we were away during the restoration period. Paul also did a good job to coordinate with the Adjuster, in order to speed up the process on the claims and expenses. His staff were nice to deal with to answer all the questions we had. They did a very good job on cleanup process after the restoration was competed.

We were pleased with Paul and Sands Restoration and the work that was done, plus reduced our stress during the whole restoration.

A cooking fire in my kitchen created a huge mess (smoke damage in particular) throughout my whole house. Last year we had substantial damage to our house. When the damage first occurred, Sands Restoration Services was sent to us by our insurance company. Paul Sands arrived on the scene to assess the damage and did a fantastic job in very quickly organizing, coordinating and carrying out all of the immediate emergency repair work that needed to be done. When the time came for us to select a contractor to do the repair and restoration, we chose Sands Restoration Services. We selected Paul’s company not only based on the quote Paul submitted but also on the great job he and his company did in the emergency repair work that was done.
Our house needed major repair and restoration and took close to a year before everything was finally completed. It was only recently that we were “back to normal”. Throughout the whole process, Paul provided us with regular updates and was always there to answer any questions we have. Anytime we needed Paul he was there. Paul and his staff were always very friendly and professional and provided excellent customer service. Paul is a very honest and knowledgeable contractor and gave us very good advice many times along the way. We felt that the whole time Paul always had our interest at heart and always did his best for us.
Anytime when there was a minor hiccup with subcontractors (and with a big job like ours, there were bound to be some) Paul was there very quickly to resolve the issue and get the project on track again. It was a tough and challenging time for our family but Paul’s leadership in managing the project, and all of the subcontract work that was done, made the situation that much easier and less stressful.

I live in a condo townhouse, and four years ago my neighbour had a house fire. My unit was damaged by this fire.

Since this was a condo townhouse, I had to deal with the corporation insurance for structural damages, and my personal insurance for content damages. Sands Restoration was assigned to us by our content insurance company to fix the damages cause by the fire inside my unit.

The owner of Sands Restoration turned out to be a valuable resource for me. I encountered various obstacles with the corporation construction company that was assigned to fix the structural damage done to my unit. Paul would provide me with advice, and even go as far as getting outside assistance in document the problems with the work done by the structural insurance company. Paul would go out of his way and stop by my unit to make sure the other company was not short changing me on the work they were hired to do.

This entire ordeal dragged out for a year, and even after Sands Restoration had completed their part of the work, Paul still kept in touch with me and provided me with advice. His advice was most valuable, when dealing with the corporation contractor. If it wasn’t for Paul and his follow up calls and concerns, I don’t think the structural damage done to my house would every have been completed.

The work that Sands Restoration completed on my unit was amazing. When others saw the work that Sands Restoration did they were amazed.

I still keep in touch with Sands Restoration, and when I need any repairs done on my house, Paul Sands is the first person I contact.

Recommended to us by insurance company and agreed to do job to a very specific timeline due to work/vacation and childcare schedules. They talked a good game and assured us everything would be done on time and to a high standard.

We found out the weekend before they were due to start - based on a random/throwaway comment during a site visit a couple of days before they commenced - that the main company had sub-contracted the work just 1wk earlier. The new contractor did not tell us until the day after he removed our furniture that the required trades were not going to be available on the agreed timeline and would not be there until next week. Talk about being over a barrel !!!

We had no choice and waited until 2nd week for correct tradesperson who then did an extremely poor quality job. Not sure in which universe the before and after photos submitted with this review look anything like the same quality and luckily the insurance company - who are footing the bill but not having to live with the inconvenience - agreed. (pictures show the before - with the leak, as well as a couple of pictures of the flattened popcorn finish that was thought to be equivalent !)

We are having to have the job redone and rather than recommend a company, our insurance company have agreed to our request to use the contractors who put in the original finish several years ago. However they are so busy that what should have been a simple process is now likely to turn into a 3 month long saga ......

I hope to post a positive review when we get our proper ceiling back !

Got put in touch with this company through our insurance company. Unbelievably unprofessional (we waited weeks for a quote from them for their services, despite their manager insisting it would be available right away) and frankly, unknowledgeable about their services. Failed to sanitize after cleaning up a flooded basement and the clean up process itself was conducted by a bunch of inept men and what looked to be a housewife. If your insurance company forces this company on you, do like Nancy Reagan, and just say no.

We had a huge house fire back in February which destroyed most of our house. Through our insurance company we contracted Sands Restoration to rebuild our house. They were honest, kind and very professional in every step of the way and did an excellent job in rebuilding our house which ended up being better than it was before the fire. Dealing with a house fire is very tough on any family, but we were lucky to deal with Paul and his staff because they truly made it less stressful on all of us. If you want an honest and professional contractor then we would suggest calling Sands Restoration.
