My basement drain was backing up so I contacted the "other" drain company that you always hear on the radio to have a look and fix it. I was told that there was a big problem in the line and he has to remove the toilet in the basement to be able to clean it and gave me a price of approximately $1400. I refused because I can not afford it. I was referred to Roy Gibson of Mayday Drain Services.
He was way out in Markham,when I called but he said he will call me back to let me know when he could come. A few hours later, he called and came. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, helpful & professional which is rare these days. He turned on the faucet in the basement washroom, faucet in the kitchen sink and right there and then, he knows what the problem was. He even covered the steps going to the basement with cloth before he brought his equipment down. It took him a few minutes to unclog the drain. He made sure the problem was fixed by flushing all the toilets in the house, running water in the kitchen sink, etc. He even gave me advice on how to keep the drain clear. All this for < $150.
Will definitely use Mayday Drain Services again and of course will recommend to relatives and friends.

Roy came and cleared whatever it was that was blocking the drain. He put a camera down and discovered that the pipe was damaged and will have to be replaced by the builder. He was very courteous and professional, and he also answered all the questions that I had. To prevent his equipment from damaging or dirtying our mainfloor, he laid sheets down from our doorway to the basement. Highly recommended!

My basement drain was backing up so I contracted that "other" drain company to snake it, twice, and it still had backed up once more afterwards. I paid a lot of money for it too. It finally stopped backing up on it's own but since the drain was under carpet (that I had to rip up and replace) I wanted to know why it had backed up. I was given Mayday's number by a 3rd party so I called them. Roy happened to be on vacation for the week and since the drain wasn't backing up just then I left my number.

Roy called me back next Saturday morning and came out later that morning. He was very friendly, helpful, professional and knowledgeable which is a rare combination these days. He scoped the drain all the way to the city connect and we saw that it was now clear; the "other" drain company had actually cleared the problem after the second attempt and all was ok now. He gave me advice on how to keep the drain clear and we even found the clean out that the builder had covered with a thin coat of cement. All this for < $200.

This is not a shot at the "other" drain company as they actually did get the drain unplugged and they do have a 30 day guarantee. But after speaking with Roy I realized I paid a lot more for their services than I would have for his AND it would have been done right the first time.

I had a problem with a toilet - and thought it was a plumbing issue. Roy talked me through fixing it on the phone myself as it turned out to be only a small part problem that I could easily fix myself. He talked me through it on the phone and could have easily just made the call and made some money. He is a genuine man with a genuine business. This is rare and I recommend him highly!

Roy is a genuine good guy. I called for service on a Monday night but he couldn't make the trip to Mississauga until Wednesday morning. Bright and early! Boy, this guy will travel all over the GTA for business. He unclogged and bathtub drain that was blocked from the stack, a long way from the tub. He suggested some tips for drain maintenance and the charges were very reasonable. Will definitely use Mayday Drain Services again.

Our drain was backing up and I couldn't figure out why. I tested all the drains in the house with my own auger and was unable to locate the clog. I also cleaned out our waste line clean-out (inside the house) and still no luck. Roy showed up on a Sunday AM with his power auger, found the clog in the main sewer line and had it cleared in 10 mins. It was great, and was happy we found him.

Upon hearing I have guests over, Roy came first thing in the morning the next day to help me with the blockage. His great camera work will give me enough proof to the builder to cover the cost as mine is a new home. He was in and out within an hour. Friendly, professional, great guy!

The previous company said we had a collapsed drain pipe and no cleanout. Roy found that we just had a big clog and discovered a hidden cleanout under the floor tiles. Using the newly found cleanout he cleared the clog and pronounced the drain pipe healthy. He saved us over $1600!

We called Mayday drain services after having called three big-name drain service companies who just kept pushing us back down the priority list. Roy from Mayday responded promptly to our early Saturday morning call on a long weekend. He was knowledgeable, professional, and made sure my fiance and I both understood the exact cause of our backup before leaving. He also put the drain scope down before removing the clog to confirm his diagnosis and after he was finished to show us the clog was fully removed all for $245 total (included removing and reinstalling a toilet). We would be happy to use Mayday again and recommend Roy to anyone with a drain issue in Toronto or the GTA.

Roy came to the rescue when my parent's basement flooded. He was able to show up immediately and did an excellent job replacing a home breather pipe. He exceeded my expectations in service, price and quality! I would recommend him to anyone!
