I had a full blockage in my kitchen sinks again in June. This had happened before. The first time was about 10 years ago, I looked up the newspaper ads and called up someone who named himself "King of Drain Services". He did the drain snaking with a small snake which basically drilled a tiny hole through the grease built up in the pipe. This only provided a temporary fix, the blockage was never properly cleared. I had spent over $1000 on the same problem as it kept recurring every 2-3 years.
This time, I learned from a friend to call the Markham City first. The city staff came promptly and after inspection, I was told the blockage was within my own property pipeline. He highly recommended Roy Gibson of MayDay. Roy responded to my call very quickly and came to my rescue within two hours. He has all the right equipments and with his great expertise, the blockage that traced to the basement drain was thoroughly cleared, it was well showed on the camera.
If I knew Roy ten years ago, it would have saved me so much money and all the painful experiences could have been avoided. Roy is an honest person and his excellent work definitely deserves a five stars recommendation. Thanks again Roy!!

When nothing was going down our drains and toilets we knew there was something bad going on. We called the city, who did a camera inspection, revealing roots amongst other blockages in the main pipe leading out to the city sewer line. Bad news was that we were told that wed have to hire an independent plumber to clean out the drain, as it was still on our property - and this was on a Friday evening of the May long weekend! I checked a number of plumbers online and on Homestars and was shocked to see that a number of them charge $300+ just to put a camera down the drain! I saw Maydays info and gave them a call. I was surprised to get a call back less than an hour later from Roy Gibson, the owner. He answered my questions and committed to coming the next morning. When he arrived the next day we went about his business in a thorough, courteous, honest and professional manner, explaining everything he was doing and what his recommendations were, as well as contingencies in case he was not able to bust through the blockages. Fortunately, Roy was able to clean out 95% of the roots and everything flowed beautifully afterward. Best of all was his price - tremendous value for a job well-executed. We had roots blocking our drains and causing a back up of the sewer pipes. We called Roy, he came out the next day and worked so hard to fix the problem for us, including cutting some shelving that was blocking an access pipe. Not only did he fix the problem but he was genuine and honest the whole time working on it. I never felt like he was conning me or was trying to pull afast one .
He went above and beyond to help us out and was pleasant and friendly. I can't recommend him highly enough.

I was advised by other plumbing specialists that the drain system was hopelessly plugged and needed to be dug up. I called Roy for a second opinion and was impressed by his experience, knowledge and his determination to accurately assess the problem. The main blockage was near the clear-out and the digging was done in the cantina which allowed for a back-flow valve installation. The net cost after a city rebate was a fraction of the original estimate. Roy is a very honest and reliable workman whom I highly recommend.

I had Mayday Drain Services do a second camera inspection in order to assess the accuracy of a report by a plumbing company regarding the main drain of our home. I am glad I did so. Mayday Drain Service gave extremely helpful advise and saved me thousands of dollars, and this not by means of smooth talking, but by means of showing me alternatives to deal with potential problems, such a roots growing into our old clay pipe main drain and connections from PVC to clay pipes. While plumbing company's give you the feeling that it is only minutes until your basement is under water or your old building trap explodes, Roy from Mayday Services puts everything in perspective. In fact, he strongly advised to remove the trap,and monitor other issues the camera inspection suggests could become problems in the future--but aren't. In my view, plumbing company's shouldn't be hired to assessed your main drain, especially if they would benefit from ill-advise to the home owner following the camera inspection. Roy is a good address, and he does have people to refer you to who also have a intelligence enough to consider solutions before tearing up your basement. I would never act on the report of one camera inspection if the projected costs go into the thousands of dollars--spending $600 on two independent camera inspection seems an investment worth making.

We had a water backing up from the basement drain and I rent a snake machine from home depot a few days prior to clear the drain. I hired Roy to inspect the drain to check if the clog issue has been resolved.

Roy was recommended by one of the city of Markham employees. Roy came over came over (and on time) at a convenient time for my wife and I. Roy was very polite and informative. Highly recommended.

He was friendly and courteous. He surveyed the situation and explained his plan of attack. Roy cleared up the problem quickly and efficiently. He even arranged for another company to come in and do the clean-up. They were also outstanding. We will not hesitate to call Mayday again for any future drain issue.

Pay attention to your water bills! I didn't and paid the price (literally). I didn't realize that both my toilets had leaks in the tanks. Which means wasted water--24 hours a day. I finally caught the problem (18 long months after it had started) and called Roy at Mayday Drain Services to come and have a look. A friend recommended him and Roy is highly rated here on Homestars. The fact that Roy showed up at all makes him better (in my experience) than most of the contractors out there. Even better, Roy showed up with a good sense of humour and promptly identified the problem (which was much less drastic than I had imagined). Roy is a drain specialist, but he did a great job in attending to my plumbing issue. Everything was sorted out quickly and efficiently. If only I'd called Roy a year and a half ago! So I would definitely recommend Mayday Drain Services.

Thank God! Roy is very different, he is 1000% professional, very nice person, with the powerful tools, he is very patient and detail oriented, the main sewage pipe was perfectly cleaned, my floor and carpet were carefully protected and even the working area was all cleaned, plus reasonable price and valuable advice. i'm so appreciated for his hard work!
