Build-in cabinetry

When I purchased a new home a few months ago, Anthony (Greystone) was recommended to me as a reputable company to perform the building and installation of a significant build-in and fireplace project on two floors of my home. Timing was crucial as I had one month to complete all work, and I had to arrange other trades to work in conjunction with the build-in installs, such as norm theatre and electrical. I was required to pay an $8,000 deposit and did so. Anthony promised to show up May 1 and attend day to day until completion. The crew showed up day one to start removal of the old stone around the fireplaces. They did not show up the next day, After phone calls they showed up the following day and completed the removal. That was the last we saw of them. We are now two weeks later and after many, many phone messages, emails, texts and onsite visits to Greystone's premises (no one was there and there were three separate visits) I have had to make other arrangements and demand my deposit back. Luckily I paid by Visa so I do have recourse through them, as well as the courts. However, I am truly concerned about the complete radio silence for no apparent reason whatsoever...I would highly discourage anyone from using this company given my terrible - and very recent - experience.

Built in cabinets and kitchen counter

I recently did a renovation on my house and had an idea for built in cabinets that after months of contacting several contractors, nobody could accommodate me timewise nor could they understand my vision. I found Greystone from Candice Tells All where he had done work for her on an episode. I met with Anthony, told him my concept and drew a picture of what I wanted. From that horrible little pencil drawing that I did he created my vision.

The price was reasonable, the work was first class and the carpenter that came David was outstanding and as patient as anyone I've ever seen. I will recommend again and again till and if I have reason not to.

Outstanding job if I had any criticism it would be that Anthony is sometimes a little slow to return emails but if you bug him enough he responds. They're busy what can I say.

BUYERS BEWARE! Livingroom Fireplace

I Was Given Anthony's name (I believe his is the owner of Greystone) by a very good friend of mine. Getting a quote from Anthony was not difficult at all. He answered our calls quickly and provided us with quotes for two projects we had.
Although we were not impressed with the workmanship (meaning installation of the products) the focus of this review is just on one of them. We purchased a fireplace from him to repaint it as the colour we needed was different than the original. Well, since then, the paint on the fireplace has been peeling off it. I have a very strong feeling that this fireplace was never primed prior to adding the new colour. They came to our house a couple of times but not without numerous (and I say numerous) phone calls. The fire place is again peeling off in a few areas and it has been a constant struggle for someone to get back to us. This is the third time with this issue of the paint peeling off the fireplace (in different sections) and it has now been two months and we have not been successful at getting someone to at least give us a call back.
Buyers beware, if you decide to purchase anything from this company, do your research first, don't take my word for it. I am just making you aware that if you have any issues after you have paid for the product, you will not be able to get anyone to call you back.
If anyone has any questions, I'll be happy to provide more details.

Fireplace

They were reliable and provided various options for a fireplace surround. Their pricing was competitive and their work clean. While the work was in process, the area was kept clean and free of debris.

Complete kitchen renovation

Have known Anthony for many years in business. I have recommended many customers to him over the years and heard all good reports back. So when it came time to do my kitchen renovation I did not hesitate to call Anthony and only Anthony. I wanted to work with someone that we could have a good working relationship and I felt confident I would get the results I wanted and trouble free. The outcome was fantastic. I am in love with the kitchen and overall the experience was trouble free and pleasant. All staff was more than gracious and dedicated to doing a excellent job.

I have heard horror stories from people and I am happy to say that I do not have any of those stories, only great memories that will last for years while enjoying cooking in my new kitchen.

Thanks for everything Anthony.

Fireplace Insert Installation

We were in the process of doing a major renovation to the entire main floor of our house. We needed a new insert and chimney liner.
The installation people damaged our new floors and were not careful on the install. After the install there was a problem with the ignition system to light the pilot.
They said they would send their best person to do the repair. 2 1/2 hours later the job still wasn't done.
When they did come back they noticed a broken log and in turn blamed us for the damage. Why wasn't this picked up on an earlier visit? They reluctantly replaced the log and finally did get get everything working.
Their "Best" man is far from best.

Granite counter and cabinetry framing in kitchen

We had Greystone provide us with a granite kitchen countertop and some cabinetry framing. We put down our 50% deposit in December with the promise of a date for them to come out and take measurements and never heard from them. Finally at the end of January I called and asked them to come out to do the measurements. They came out and said we would hear from them regarding an installation date in 2 weeks. Again, we never heard from them. Finally they came to do the installation at the end of February when I called them to pin them down on a date. The installation was supposed to be a one day job. They were supposed to arrive at 9am – and then showed up an hour and a half late. They left at 4pm before completing the job as they didn’t want to stay late and had “hours more work to do”. I finally got them pinned down for a time to come back and complete the job. They cancelled because of weather. I rebooked again. Again, they cancelled because of weather. When they did finally come back, they finished the remaining work in approx 45 minutes (not “hours”), however, a piece of the cabinetry was unstained and so they had to come back a fourth time to finish it! Again, this took me calling them to arrange it. The only time they ever communicated with me was when they called to ask for the remaining 50% payment on the job. And this was before they job was even complete! Bottom line – very nice product and workmanship, but the hassle of dealing with them wasn’t worth it.

Revitalized old existing fireplace

Our wood burning fireplace in our living room was the existing fireplace since the house was built in the 30's. Although it was in working order we wanted to revitalize it. We wanted to replace the existing brick facing along with the tile on the floor. After reading the review on Greystone my wife and I ped by their shop and spoke to Anthony. Right away we were impressed with Anthony's knowledge and friendly demeanor. We felt very comfortable doing business with Anthony. With the help of Anthony we picked a new wood mantle and marble tile. The crew showed up at our house on time as promised. They were very professional. They did an excellent job while cleaning up as they went assuring no unnecessary mess. We are very happy with the results and would not hesitate to do business with Greystone again in the future.
