Right from our first meeting with Frank we felt good about hiring him and his crew. Frank had great ideas on how we could best complete our job and there was no high pressure sales. His crew Joe, Mike and Luke are great to work with. They were always happy and professional and if you baked them cookies they'll do an even better job for you. When we made changes to the project plan Frank was happy to oblige us and in most cases it did not cost any more. We were planning on putting road crush on our parking pad, but Frank didn't feel we would be happy and he suggested we use recycled asphalt and what a difference it made. The result looked very clean and durable, better than just road crush. We were happy to pay the extra cost for a better outcome. Our sidewalks look fantastic. The care and time spent ensuring the job was done right shows, so much so, that our friends have now hired Frank for some work. And if all goes well, next year we will have Frank and his crew back for more work.

I had another company come to look at my furnace and that’s exactly what they did, look, nothing else and billed me a couple hundred dollars. I called Gerry to clean our ducts and when he heard my story he cleaned and did a full maintenance on our furnace at no charge. He wanted to make sure I was a happy customer and he felt bad that I paid another company for nothing. We’ve used Gerry a few times to clean ducts and to clean carpets. He’s always done a great job and I have full confidence in the quality of work and his honesty.

I called about five insulation companies to give me quotes on adding more insulation to my attic. Attic Pros and one other company were the only ones to respond. Even though Attic Pros' quote was more expensive digging into the numbers they were offering much more than just blowing in new insulation like the other company. They added baffles to the attic which promotes air circulation making our home more heat/cooling efficient. They put insulation depth indicators in the attic so we can keep an eye how the insulation is settling. Shawn took before and after pictures to show us. They added weather stripping to the attic trap door and added more pink insulation on top of the attic trap door. Of course they showed up at the agreed time and there were no cost surprises. Overall we were very happy with the work provided.

When I called Knight Plumbing I was pleased to hear "How can I make you smile today". I took this as sign of a good company to use. I proceeded to explain that I wanted my furnace maintained and cleaned. What I got was a 28 point inspection. I was also shown pictures of what required cleaning and a report stating that I needed duct cleaning. The tech was very pleasant and friendly so I did not think much about it at the time and paid for the call. After the tech left I realized I would require a different service call for a furnace and duct cleaning, at additional cost. Needless to say I emailed Knight and a few days later followed up with a phone call. Their customer service manager contacted me to offer a discount on the cleaning service, but by this time I was disillusioned with Knight's quality of service and contacted another company to complete the work. Moral of the story caveat emptor - buyer beware. Update and response to Knight Plumbings claim that they tried to contact me - Actually I called to find out if anyone was going to act on an email I sent Knight complaining about their service. They were well aware of my issue and were going to contact me. Based on my description above they most certainly know who I am and how to contact me. So don't believe that they have been unable to reach me. When I did receive a phone call back it was obvious that I would not be able to reach any sort of agreement with Knight. They offered to give me a discount on cleaning services, which i rejected. I was not interested in using them anymore. I contacted another company which we had used in the past to clean our ducts and it turns out they also clean and maintain furnaces. This company (Genesis Carpet and Furnace Cleaning) did all the work for less than what Knight charged me for the initial inspection. They also found areas of issue that Knight did not. So much for a thorough inspection.
