This was our second time dealing with bed bugs. I wish we had called Muhammad the first time. Last October we spent $3,000 on a full house heat treatment when the bugs were only ever found in our bedroom. Muhammad was very reassuring and put our minds at ease. He didn't try to create the fear that some of the other companies did. He explained that his treatment is specific to the infestation, and that he would only provide treatment if he found live bugs (which he did after a lengthy search). In our case, the infestation was caught very early so Muhammad only suggested we treat our master bedroom. He is meticulous, thorough and patient (spent the entire day in our master bedroom), all traits required when eradicating bugs that have spent centuries perfecting their ability to evade discovery. He showed us pictures of all the bugs he found and left us traps for the all the bedrooms to be sure the bugs weren't there. It has been a couple months since the treatment and Muhammad has followed up several times to be sure we are still bug free. We highly recommend Muhammad to anyone unlucky enough to have bed bugs.

Red Robin came highly recommended on Homestars. We hired them to tuck point our chimney and do some brickwork on our house. Unfortunately, we did not have the same high quality experience that many others have had. The pictures attached tell the whole story. The chimney was only partially done. Several spots in need of attention were not touched. And even some of the new mortar had holes in it. To their credit, Red Robin sent a team back to re-do the work and it is now done properly. However the fact that it wasn't done correctly the first time disappointed my wife and I.

Arthur and his entire team were a pleasure to deal with. They were professional, honest, extremely knowledgable and very friendly. They were the only roofing company who asked to see our attic to fully inspect the ventilation from both sides of the roof. As it turned, out our 68 year old attic was not properly ventilated, an issue that could potentially void the warranty on new shingles. The Roof Whisperer made us aware of this problem up front so we could plan for the added expense. They also installed eavestroughs on our detached garage (which were never there before). In the end, we now have a properly draining garage, properly ventilated attic, waterproof roof and gorgeous shingles. We highly recommend The Roof Whisperer.

Dufferin Iron & Railings did a great job on our front porch.  From start to finish Oliver and the Dufferin Iron team were easy to work with.  The new railing perfectly compliments the stonework we had done and the recommendations Oliver made look great.  We are very happy and won’t hesitate to recommend Dufferin Iron in the future.

We can’t recommend Keith and his crew enough. What started with us initially wanting to re-do our front walk and dig a new garden bed turned into a full landscaping project guided by Keith’s vision for our yard. He was up front and honest about the cost, his quote and design were very detailed, he made several suggestions that we hadn’t considered (the armour stone looks incredible!) and he worked closely with us to ensure things like the plants he chose matched our taste. Our front yard is now the talk of the street. Thanks Keith!

My wife and I got five quotes from deck companies we found on Homestars for a new deck consisting of Azek horizontal surfaces, cedar for all vertical surfaces (including a new 19' long cedar fence) and disposal of old patio fencing. Alec came over within a day of our call to provide a quote. We were immediately impressed by his knowledge and experience. He made several great suggestions regarding the design then provided a drawing and quote at that meeting (nobody else did this). As mentioned several times on this site, his quote for the project was very reasonable (half the price of 3 competitors). Alec and his team started the project in mid-June and were great to work with. For starters, Alec was onsite every day. They started the project three days early, worked full days and had an amazing attention to detail. They were also very courteous and friendly with both our neighbours and us. They kept the work site very clean and took care to not damage a nearby young tree that I had transplanted to make room for the deck. Finally, they came in on time and right on budget. We cannot recommend Master Deck enough. We have been enjoying our deck all summer and have not stopped receiving compliments on it from anyone who sees it. Thank you Master Deck!

On a Sunday afternoon two weeks ago I discovered a wasps nest in the wall immediately above the front door to my house. On Monday around noon I called Kevin from GTA Wildlife. He was at my house treating the nest within two hours of my call. He explained that nests in walls are difficult to effectively treat so his service came with a 3 month guarantee. If wasps reappeared in the wall he would return free of charge to treat it again. It has been two weeks and there is no sign of the wasps! Thank you for the great service Kevin. I will definitely be recommending you to friends.

I called about my clogged bathtub drain in the late afternoon on a Friday (Halloween no less!) and spoke to William. Within a couple of hours William had arranged for Matt Achcinski to make a service call that night. Matt arrived right on schedule, insisted on removing his boots (despite my protests to the contrary) because he had left a clean pair of "booties" in the truck and went right to work. He inspected the drain, provided an accurate quote and within an hour of arriving had cleared the drain. A job very well done! Drainworks was easy to deal and very professional. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again.

We just moved into a 62 year old home and the recent heat wave was enough to convince us we needed A/C. Paul from Ductless.ca came by the same day we called to provide a quote. The installation happened a few days later. The work crew arrived on time, cleaned up after themselves and finished in less time than had been estimated. We will have to update our boiler soon and will definitely be calling Ductless.ca to do the job.

Our world class experience with Tender Touch started a few days before our move when we had to change our move date because contractors would not be finished renos in our new place on time. Maria was great and far exceeded my expectations in changing our move date. On moving day, Wade, Wayne and Kris arrived spot on time and ready to get the job done! Before we knew it, Wayne and Wade had already loaded all our boxes onto the truck! During that time, Kris began disassembling our dining table and wrapping ALL of our furniture in blankets or shrink wrap. They worked quickly but took extreme care with all of our belongings. Kris was awesome with the larger pieces of furniture and tried to get some of our bigger pieces out without us having to dismantel them. All three of them were enthusiastic about the job (even when it took longer than planned) and ensured our move was as stress free as possible. We will definitely use them again! Thank you to everyone at Tender Touch for making our move so easy.

DO NOT SHOP AT UPCOUNTRY!!! In January my girlfriend and I purchased a couch, dining table and eight dining chairs at the UpCountry King St store. We put down a sizeable 50% deposit on the whole order and were told to expect delivery in 8-10 weeks. When we hadn't heard anything from them at 10 weeks I left several messages with customer service before finally getting a reply. We were told our furniture delivery was delayed by the manufacturer (sound familiar?) and delivery would be in a couple more weeks. We were also told they would get back to me with a delivery date. 6 weeks passed and no word from UpCountry or response to any of our messages. Finally, at 18 weeks, our table and chairs were delivered but they double billed my credit card for the balance owing. 4 weeks later and my money has yet to be refunded nor have I even received a phone call from their accounts payable department. After several more calls over 4 weeks we finally learned today that UpCountry no longer deals with the manufacturer of our couch. We had to call them to get them to learn this. Apparently, nobody was too concerned about informing us so our deposit could be refunded. This store has the worst customer service we have ever experienced. WE WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN AND WE WILL ENSURE THAT ALL OF OUR FRIENDS KNOW TO AVOID THEM AS WELL!
