Tarek did an amazing job. He was quick to respond with a quote after I requested one on Homestars and setting up an appointment was easy. He called up the day before to confirm the appointment and showed up on time. I was expecting to find dirty ducts but the before and after pictures shocked me. This was a project with tight timelines and Ideal Stairs delivered. We changed carpet to hardwood floors, refreshed the stair treads with a sand/stain, changed the railing height and replaced the posts. Mesh and Rajan were a pleasure to deal with; Mesh handled the initial conversation when I was looking for a quote and they showed a lot of flexibility (including working with photos to give a rough estimate). Rajan followed up every day his trades were working for us, once in the morning and once at the end of the day. The first day I had minor feedback about the flooring people, Rajan graciously accepted the comments and took care of the problem. Ideal Stairs was also accommodating to changes in an already compressed timeline as I had to coordinate with other work happening in the house. I am very happy with the work and will readily recommended Ideal Stairs

I found Kwik Kloset on Homestars and reached out to them through their website. We wanted to do 4 closets initially but ended up with 2. Alexander first reached out and setup an appointment. On the day of the appointment, we were home and waiting but he did not show up. I called him and it turned out that he forgot about our appointment. We rescheduled to another day and this time he showed up :) We liked the experience of the initial consultation as Alexander was very methodical, frank and explained all the options that we could select. The 3D models were an excellent tool to help visualize how the closets will look when finished. After a few days, when we were ready to accept the quote, we were told that they had the wrong price list in the estimating tool and the quote had gone up. They adjusted the discount to make the increase more reasonable. Tom scheduled the installation and Jenna was our installer. Jenna's work quality was great and the finished product looks amazing. She was unable to finish the work on the first day and she came back the next afternoon to finish the job. I will happily recommend Kwik Kloset for the work quality and ease of dealing with them. Unfortunately there were some minor issues with scheduling and quotation in my case which leads me to knock off 2 stars from the review.

Denis is a great person to work with; extremely responsive over the phone, keeps to his promised schedule and attentive to detail. He was prepared for any type of wall and had drill bits/screws for concrete. He vacuumed the floor and maintained a clean work area. He thinks about the customer’s usage patterns and suggests based on his experience. Will recommend his work any day. (We chose not to hide the cables)

I was looking for an electrician to install a light fixture and found Sandu on Homestars. John was very accommodating; he showed up for estimation the very next day (between jobs) and quoted a very reasonable and fair price inclusive of materials. He respected our home while working and did a great job. I will happily recommend a professional like John and will call him again if I need an electrician.

Avenue Interiors were subcontracted by my insurance company. I was evaluating multiple options before I decided to stay with Avenue Interiors. Rick came over for estimates and communicated clearly about the process and my options. The price quoted by Avenue/Rick were in line or less than 2 other floor retailers I used for quotes. The installer (who is contracted out by Avenue) was excellent. He went above and beyond in trying to meet our schedule and worked around other trades.

My dryer was making a grinding noise every time I switched it on. YouTube videos teach you the DIY fix but I wasn't ready to take it on without all the tools. I called Atiar on a Sunday morning and he promised to stop by in 2 hrs. He asked me about the problem and gave me an approximate quote over the phone. When he arrived he was ready with new parts ; he explained his work as he went along and fixed the problem in about 30mins. I will use him again should I ever have the need for an appliance repair tech.

I chose Alliance based on the reviews on Homestars and in the end I was happy with the decision. We met with Mike and he was a great professional with friendly customer service. My wife and I were deciding between laminate and engineered wood flooring. MIke came over to our condo for the estimates, helped us choose the right underlay based on our condo rules and provided inputs on the merits of each option. There was no pressure during the process and Mike showed us many options for our needs. We ended up choosing the engineered wood option. The work was done flawlessly on the promised date. The contractors (Rudy and Joseph) were great and followed through with our requests.

We just had our new condo inspected by Scott Thompson from Carson and Dunlop. He is a great home inspector; he is patient, thorough and very friendly. As first time buyers, we walked in to this as blank slates. Scott explained each aspect of the condo, how we should use each equipment, things to watch for and regular maintenance procedures. I am happy to recommend Scott. The overall experience with Carson and Dunlop was equally great. The person who answered the phone (Sammy?) explained the options and made the purchase a easy experience.
