S&B in Hillcrest Village

Daniel and his team at True North took us through what's a very tricky project with ease. Daniel himself always made time to talk to us and answer all our questions. His client service is second to none. He aims to please, and definitely delivers. The best testament to their work doesn't from us, but the people who've seen our unfinished basement after True North was finished. Different professional trades have been in and said how nice and clean the work is. If you're taking on a complicated (and scary) project on your biggest investment, I guarantee you're in good hands with Daniel and True North Underpinning.

Our job was small and didn't require a lot of complex pipefitting to extend the natural gas through the foundation and out to the back deck. George did the work nicely and with clean finishing. He left the work area spotless when he was done. While not the cheapest price for this small job, George was professional and gave me the confidence that it would be done nice and clean.

We found b sq. at a major home and garden show in Toronto and were really impressed with their design aesthetic, use of materials and general philosophy. We did compare a few other options for this major backyard overhaul job but in the end Alex @ b sq. gave us the most thoughtful approach upfront, which continued on through the rest of the project. The master plan gave us everything we wanted in a downtown Toronto space without seeming like to much. When it came time to build Alex, Justin and the team did an amazing job bringing everything to life. They did so ahead of schedule giving us more time to finally enjoy using our backyard.

We liked the initial sales consultation that was provided, and the price was comparable to a brand name box store. As well, the installation was handled professionally with little mess or disruption to our finished home. Our biggest issue was we had the initial consultation on October 22 and installation January 4. While we made a change to the original order and added in another window, it shouldn't have extended the 4-6 week expectation that was given to us to 10 weeks. We would still use Gem again in the future if the product/price meet our needs. We will provide Gem's name to friends if asked for a door/window place.

Jay tiled our backsplash and it looks great. However, we were most impressed with his solution to a countertop gap that we had. He created a number of filler pieces using difficult angled cuts to close the gap between countertop and wall...and you can't tell looking at it now that there was ever an issue!
