I selected Royal Green Irrigation to install an in-ground sprinkler and irrigation system at my home based on their competitive price and reputation on Home Stars. The only issue I had was the time it took to start the project. I awarded the work on Apr 5 /22 and was given to understand the work would begin in the middle of May. In fact, after at least two delays, the work did not commence until July 8 /22. I did get the impression that this was unusual for this company as they apologized profusely and even reduced their price as compensation. However, once the work began, Nino and his crew did not disappoint. They were efficient, competent, neat, and checked with me appropriately on installation details. Their cleanup was awesome and all was done in one day. I also got pleasingly prompt responses to my after-installation questions. All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend Royal Green Irrigation to others.

I have a 2-year-old surveillance system with 5 wired hi-def cameras feeding a dedicated DVR. All was working fine until my modem/router was upgraded by Rogers whereupon I lost the ability to access my video feed remotely over the internet via the Hikvision app. I know this to be a fairly quick fix but requires someone knowledgeable about port forwarding and using an external DDNS. Unfortunately for me, the service provider who installed the equipment is not available so I needed to shop around for this service. I discovered that most service providers either did not want to service equipment not installed by them or wanted a lot of money to try. Enter JP of Budwal Innovations … Not only was JP knowledgeable of my situation and my equipment but he walked me through a solution on the spot! And more impressively, he also did not charge me for this advice even though I was not a regular customer. Based on this, I highly recommend Budwal Innovations and will be using them for my future surveillance system needs.

I had an issue with my 10-year-old, 5-camera system in that one of the cameras had lost its night vision capability. After reaching out to a number of resources to determine a course of action, I elected to upgrade the existing system as it became obvious that current systems are vastly superior. I selected Victor, of Camera Installers, based on the advice he provided and his reputation on Home Stars. He did the job in much less than a day, taking maximum advantage of the existing cabling. Victor was very knowledgeable in answering my questions, demonstrating how to use the system, and setting up my computer, cell phone and iPads for remote access. He was also very respectful of current public health advice regarding COVID-19, social distancing where possible and wearing a mask while in the house. In general, working with Victor was a pleasant experience and I will not hesitate to use him again. ***** UPDATE ***** This is an update to my review. While my initial installation experience was very positive, Victor’s after-sales service has been quite disappointing. Because of this I am downgrading my overall review to a 5 or less. My first experience was simple. The original installation included a lockable steel cabinet for the power supply but I wasn’t left with the key. Victor promised he would look for it but never got back. I was not inclined to pursue this further as this was not a deal-breaker. My second experience related to the fact that I couldn’t find a user manual for the DVR on-line and requested instruction on how to export files. In response he sent a YouTube video for a different DVR that was not helpful at all. Fortunately, I was able to figure it out myself through trial and error so I lived with this complaint as well. While these issues were more annoying than problematic, my most recent experience has resulted in a significant loss of functionality. My ISP, Rogers Cable, replaced my modem, creating a problem where I can no longer view my feeds over the internet. My understanding of the solution is that it will require an update to the external DDNS and port forwarding settings, both of which are password protected by Camera Installers. I discussed the issue with Victor in early October. He immediately understood the problem, suggesting that he didn’t even need to visit and would solve the problem during the following week by remotely taking over my computer. I have since tried to contact him numerous times over the phone to no avail. He has not returned any of my messages. I now have been waiting for more tha a month and have to conclude that Victor has no interest in addressing my problem. My only recourse seems to be to contact another contractor to re-establish my lost functionality. I will provide another update to this review when my problem has been resolved. *****FINAL UPDATE***** I ended up using Homestars to identify other service providers and discovered that most service providers either did not want to service equipment not installed by them or wanted a lot of money to try. Ultimately, I found a good one. Not only was the service provider knowledgeable of my situation and my equipment but he walked me through a solution on the spot! And more impressively, he also did not charge me for this advice even though I am not a regular customer. Finally my issue is resolved!

Zeo, Eldin and their crew enlarged my existing backyard patio and added a walkway to it from the front of the house. Total square footage of this project was slightly over 450 sq ft. One of my biggest concerns was to match the existing Unilock pavers (circa 1985) as well as possible as these have been long discontinued. Another issue was to level out the land for the walkway to provide easy access for garbage cans and lawnmower. Zeo and Eldin addressed my concerns by providing samples for me to choose from and suggesting alternatives using retaining wall material. This was all done within the original estimate which was quite competitive. I also wanted the work completed before winter and was concerned that the rainy weather would get in the way. However, the crew of 4 worked around the weather and were able to complete the work within a week. The only thing they were not able to complete was to install finishing sod as it was too late in the season to obtain sod from the garden centres; but they promised to return in early spring to take care of this detail. I also appreciated that they were very polite, quiet, and kept the work site clean. They also worked around my schedule as required. I would recommend Zedo Construction without hesitation.

I engaged Babus Electric to trouble shoot and correct a suspected breaker failure that greeted me upon my return from vacation. All the breakers were in the “on” position but what looked to be an entire circuit was dead. My usual electrician was on vacation and I wanted prompt attention since my house contains aluminum wiring. John is rated very highly on Homestars, is relatively close by, and offered to call early Sunday afternoon for a fixed charge. In short, he was all he was reputed to be. He was prompt, clean, polite and demonstrated an efficient workflow, eliminating breaker failure as a cause and systematically identifying a loose connection within the suspect circuit. I highly recommend John and would definitely have him back.

We have purchased a number of Hunter Douglas blinds in the past and have never had a problem with either the blinds themselves or this retailer. In fact, we recently suffered a small kitchen fire that spread to one of the blinds. Amazingly, the fire actually extinguished itself, clearly a property of the blind that I hadn’t appreciated before. As to the retailer, we have shopped around a number of times but have always returned to Kingsway because of their price and service.

I needed new blinds for the living room and was looking for an exact match to the HunterDouglas blinds that were installed in the dining room a couple of years ago. I compared a number of retailers with excellent reputations on Homestars before selecting Kingsway, mainly on price. Kingsway did not disappoint. Alex provided shop-at-home service, critical to get the exact measurements and to view the various colour samples in the light of my house versus the light of the showroom. He also provided installation advice and a detailed estimate. Delivery times were precisely as estimated. In all, it was the no-hassle experience I was looking for.

Victorious did not disappoint. Mark provided shop-at-home service, a feature that I didn’t initially appreciate until I became aware of how different the various colour samples looked in the light of my house versus the light of the showroom. He also provided advice and a detailed estimate that defined all the important terms and conditions. Most importantly, his price was very competitive. Installation went exactly as described. Jay and Tony were prompt, courteous, worked quickly and cleaned up after themselves. They even went to Home Depot to supply transition pieces to match my existing ones. I was also impressed with the follow-up call from Mark during the evening following installation to verify my satisfaction with the work.

I needed a home security solution robust enough to handle occasional absences during the winter. After reviewing a number of proposals, I went with Skywire, a recent startup featuring two young, high-tech professionals out to make a name for themselves and their company. Paul and Chris configured and installed an alarm and camera system customized to meet my needs, including internet access via both computer and smart phone. The installation experience was exceptional. Paul and Chris were prompt, efficient, and tidy. They even re-routed some AV cabling in my attic for me! All-in-all, I would highly recommend them.

Clearly there’s a reason for David’s consistently high reviews on this website and I am delighted to add my name to the obviously-lengthy list of his highly satisfied customers. David is a true craftsman, devoting all his attention to one job at a time and allowing time to do a quality job to his own exacting standards. Project costs and timelines were precisely as estimated. He also gave us invaluable advice on the selection of materials and even solved some existing plumbing problems along the way! In addition, David was easy to work with and have in our home. This project had the potential to be very disruptive to the family but David came up with a sequence of work that allowed us continued access to all areas of the house for the duration. He also kept the work area very clean and was unfailingly polite and pleasant to have around. Overall it was a pleasure to work with David and I would not hesitate to engage him again should the opportunity arise.

I selected CCM partially on the basis of the great reviews on this site although I must admit that the uniformly high ratings seemed a bit too good to be true. I am happy to say that my experience was excellent. Jason and Peter did exactly what they explained they would do, within the time parameters promised, and at the price agreed upon – all in a polite, professional manner. It was obvious that my satisfaction with their work was their top priority. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
