I have a 2-year-old surveillance system with 5 wired hi-def cameras feeding a dedicated DVR. All was working fine until my modem/router was upgraded by Rogers whereupon I lost the ability to access my video feed remotely over the internet via the Hikvision app.
I know this to be a fairly quick fix but requires someone knowledgeable about port forwarding and using an external DDNS. Unfortunately for me, the service provider who installed the equipment is not available so I needed to shop around for this service.
I discovered that most service providers either did not want to service equipment not installed by them or wanted a lot of money to try.
