Upon receiving the home inspection on the furnace the previous homeowner identified as a few years old, after doing much research, I called Northwood . Since they're a family owned and operated business I decided to go with them because I felt the service would be more personal. Gary came out and confirmed everything the home inspector put in the report. The furnace system was beyond ages old. The ducts appeared to have never been cleaned. We opted to invest in a high efficiency York system which included a pass through humidifier. They also installed a tankless system. While doing the other work in the basement, the techs noticed the poor state of the gas dryer vent and replaced the venting materials. I've experience some issues with the humidifier which they were very quick to attend to. All the staff at Northwood are extremely diligent and professional. Their focus on service is stellar. We will be keeping them as our HVAC service provider. I would highly recommend Northwood to family and friends requiring HVAC work as they go above and beyond for their clients.

Brandon came out to review the overall work required, he provided a quote broken down into sections requiring various types of insulation. The attic was in dire need of insulation. The old insulation smelled awful! Brandon broke down the attic, garage and basement into manageable stages to prevent discomfort in the home. The entire staff was amazing. We had the old insulation removed which took most of the day. They took great care to vacuum all the old insulation stuck in sections. I was given a tour after the removal to ensure I was satisfied with the work. A couple of days later, they returned to insulate the attics. It wasn't the same crew, but professional and absolutely great to work with. They cleaned up their work area, and left no debris. Great service! Highly recommend them. The next stage - the garage.

Lynsey was my first contact. She was professional and prompt in returning my emails and calls. The service was excellent! They squeezed in an appointment just before the long weekend to determine the extent of the work required. Sure enough the house contained asbestos wrapped boots - some has started to flake. I decided not to take the chance of installing hardwood flooring over the 9X9 tiles currently in the house, even though the previous owner installed carpet over the tiles. I wasn't sure how much the tiles had degraded due to the carpet cleaning solution used the years before. As it turns out the boot wrap removal required a Type 2 process with tenting, the floor tiles were removed by hand to prevent crumbling and possible airborne particles. In the end, I would certainly recommend anyone purchasing a home to ensure the tiles in the home are not asbestos laden. In the same breath, it would be great for homeowners selling their homes to ensure they're not offloading a house with asbestos to the next person. The crew at Alliance were absolutely great. I would recommend them to anyone requiring asbestos removal services.

The previous homeowner parged the chimney and left it in a crumbling state. It would not have survived the winter in that condition. He matched the brick to the house. Sam and Richard who performed the work were absolutely fantastic! Very personable and professional. The job site was completely cleaned off all rubble and debris. After much research on the plumbing companies servicing Toronto, I decided to call Express Rooter. The entire staff was amazing. I worked closely with Melissa and Marcin. Marcin worked around my hectic schedule to visit the house, review and quote the work required stemming from the findings during the home inspection. Marcin explained the details of the work required to bring the plumbing up to code. Marcin also identified potential future issues due to poor home maintenance habits. A detailed quote and scope of work was emailed as promised within two days after my initial meeting. Marcin and team completed the work on time and in budget as promised. He even went above and beyond by installing a laundry sink after removing the old unit. It was a very nice surprise to see the sink and faucet hooked up. Marcin is now on my speed dial for all upcoming home reno plumbing improvements and regular maintenance.
