End of June, 6 Months after Delivery, this is my 2nd addition to my original review. I've given up!! The repair has never happened despite Manorhouse promises from Mike. We'll simply live with the damage. So far, both my daughter and a friend have bought expensive pieces from the same manufacturer but a different store because they liked ours, but we warned them away from Manorhouse. Following are my former reviews and I've attached a photo of the scratch. Earlier this week I submitted the following review with a much lower rating for Manorhouse. However, since then, Mike got back to me and said that without admitting liability, and for Customer Services reasons, they would take our new sideboard to be repaired at no charge to us. Thank you Mike, we appreciate the Customer Service. We've known all along that the damage could not possibly have happened after delivery, and now we know that Manorhouse will put things right. If dealing with Manorhouse, you need to be very very careful to protect yourself in case there is any problem. For us, all went smoothly up to delivery (other than Mike overcharged the sales tax on our handwritten bill, but Richard noticed and corrected it later on the computer). We ordered a $2700 wooden cabinet, 3' high and 7' long, to be made by Handstone. It's very well-made and beautiful!! I would have given Manorhouse excellent reviews, referrals, and more business from us. But Mike, who is in charge of "Customer Service", has blocked all that. If he gets back to us to correct the situation, I'll re-post. The cabinet was delivered close to noon just before a major storm was about to start. Jeff was pleasant and professional, he and his assistant (we found out later that he was Mike's son, the store manager) were careful and understandably quick to leave. The cabinet was wrapped in plastic, with a foam cover on top held firmly in place by tape. Jeff used an exacto knife to cut the tape across the top and the plastic around the body. We were delighted with the cabinet, signed for the delivery and they left. We were out for several hours, and at dinnertime put a lamp on the cabinet and turned it on. We were shocked to see a 3/4 inch nick in the top which wasn't visible without the light. It is small but in a prominent place and quite noticeable when the lamp is on. We knew that there was absolutely nothing possible we could have done to cause this -- we'd been out, no one else lives here or was here, and we had put nothing on the cabinet until the lamp. I immediately phoned Manorhouse -- Mike had left and I spoke with Richard who asked that I send photos. Then my husband remembered that the nick was just where Jeff had cut the tape with the exacto knife -- the bottom of the knife easily could have done the damage by accident, and in the dim light, Jeff would have never seen it. I called Richard back with this idea, and he asked that I include that explanation in my e-mail with the photos. Two visits to Manorhouse have resolved nothing. Mike is expert at stonewalling and turning things into our fault. What we asked is that it be repaired at Manorhouse expense -- Mike knows a good furniture repair guy, and the nick is small so wouldn't be an expensive repair. But Mike claims a few things: that Manorhouse isn't responsible because we signed off, that we should have checked it with a flashlight if the light was dim, that Jeff doesn't think he did it and we should have objected at the time if we didn't like how he used the exacto knife. Mike said they have a photo of our cabinet when it was wrapped, but when on the first visit I asked to see it, he refused and said it was his picture not mine, and on the second visit he refused again and said his son was on vacation and had it with him. Then Mike and Jeff showed us a smaller piece of furniture in the shipping room with NO tape over the top and said it is wrapped the same as ours!! That was the last straw for us, we left. So if you deal with Manorhouse, be sure to take detailed photos of your furniture at every step during delivery, and just make the delivery guys wait while you examine every inch of it with a flashlight before you sign off!!

Daniel was a pleasure to deal with and with and gave the best of three estimates. He, his Dad Brian, and Michael worked both hard and quickly. They removed the rough old asphalt floor in our 2-car garage and replaced it with smooth new concrete that included additives so it could be poured in the winter. Daniel explained clearly what we should expect during the job, and fulfilled all of our expectations. When we called with a couple of questions, he responded right away. A young man who grew up in the business, give quality service and product, and LOVES concrete. Thank you to everyone at Toronto's Finest Concrete!!

Our new walnut herringbone engineered wood floor looks beautiful! And so easy getting it. The turning point compared to competitors was Aftab's excellent suggestions about how the herringbone could be laid for a large and complex closet that would make it just the way we wanted. And also his estimate, which surprised us by being lower than others from "lower rent" areas. When there were a couple of small installation issues (and there always are!), Aftab stepped in and arranged things perfectly. Nicole always provided good admin support just as and when needed. And Varant's installation work was exacting and high quality, he always did what he said when he said, went above & beyond, and cleaned everything up when he finished. Thanks to all!

Do NOT commit your bathroom job to any other contractor without having invited Rory to quote. Because he is so good and does almost all the work himself, he is booked many months ahead, so call him early. We are very happy with our totally renovated main bathroom for many reasons. Yes, we are thrilled with the look and quality we chose. But our satisfaction is also very much about how we got there. We had 4 quotations from HomeStars stars, including Rory. From start to finish, he was fair & flexible, open & honest, committed & diligent, timely and tidy. For a very reasonable cost Rory did top quality work. We especially appreciated the ease and trust of having all dealings with and almost all work done by the owner. And for each of the trades -- tile layer, plumber, electrician, carpenter, etc -- Rory is a pro. Following completion, we had a couple of small concerns and Rory responded immediately. Thank you, Rory!!

Thank you guys for your review, it was a pleasure working for you. You made it easy for me because you were very prepared and organized which made the job from start to finish go quickly. In the end your bathroom turned out great, the warm modern look of the calacatta tiles you chose really stands out, that, along with the linear floor drain in the shower, gives it a nice sleek look to it. Thank you for choosing me to do the Reno and I hope you enjoy it.

Our great thanks to partners Victor & Simon + the whole Canlik team. A few years ago we installed new flooring, countertop and backsplash in our large kitchen. Now we have just had Canlik replace all the cupboard doors and drawer facings, some on existing boxes, some re-configured and built new. They changed some cupboards to drawers, added slide-outs, designed a custom crown molding. We are so pleased with their high service level, the quality of their fabrication and installation, their advice, their very competitive pricing, their timeliness as committed, and their patience as they and we together worked out how to do a number of custom touches. We didn't hesitate to give Canlik the work to re-face our vanity for our upcoming bathroom renovation, and are especially pleased that they will build a recessed medicine cabinet and attach it to a gorgeous mirror we've purchased and that our contractor will install. We will not hesitate to use Canlik again when we move to a condo in a few years, and would recommend them to anyone wanting kitchen work done.

Hi Sherry and Peter,

Thank you for your compliments. We are so pleased that the end results come out so nicely and it fits in so well with your existing decorative elements. It is wonderful that the minor modifications can fulfill you family needs without too much hassle. The time and efforts that we spent to formulate the ultimate solutions were well worth it. The double crown molding system provide more than decorative touch, it becomes a highlight of the kitchen. Thank you so very much for recommending us to your family and friends.

While my husband is our resident handyman, whenever he has needed help with those thorny problems with our hardwood floors (eg stepping up from hardwood in one room to new overlaid marble in the next, hardwood patching for both new and widened doorways), for years we have always gone to Woodchuck Flooring for both advice and materials. Every person there is so friendly, knowlegable, helpful, and they have always had exactly what the job called for. Our trip there today resulted in being given what to them was scrap material, and what to us fills the bill perfectly. Our thanks to all the Woodchuck folks, and when we have a bigger job, they are the company we will turn to.

Thanks to especially Dino and Spiros, we would contract again with Diamond Tile / JBG Flooring, and have already recommended them to friends. Spiros is a master craftsman who is also very pleasant to have around. And Dino runs everything so well -- very responsive, gives good suggestions based on his extensive experience, does what he says he will, easy to deal with. And all for the best price of 4 estimates!
