We purchased our home 3 years ago and had the Home Inspection of the previous home owners when we moved in. Everything looked good. Within 10 days we had a number of issues that involved plumbing and our entire first floor had to be redone after water damage. We’ve done a lot of work on the house - but we noticed the same issue with the tub above our dining room that a plumbing company (Ask Mechanical) had fixed three years ago. We called Thomas at ClearView Home & Property Inspections. He was very thorough and asked some really great questions as to what we were looking for from this estimate/service. To us, it was peace of mind to ensure that we weren’t going to consistently run into the same issues on our older home. Also to be pre-emptive with future repairs. Tom showed up on time (to the minute!) and spent 3 hours walking me through absolutely everything (inside and out). He also used the thermal imaging and identified the same issue with our bathroom / dining room ceiling. This also helped us get this repaired asap from the original company at no cost to us. The report and overview was fantastic and incredibly helpful. Tom loves what he does and is an absolute pleasure to deal with. If I could give him a100 star rating I would - because he made life easy for us. Also, we now have the peace of mind we wanted knowing what needs to get done…and what’s in great shape! We found ClearView on HomeStars and chose this company because of its favourable reviews on HomeStars. You can add ours to the growing list of satisfied customers!

We'd had a cleaning service (who were excellent) clean our home after my foot surgery. While they were cleaning the stove, they used excessive water to clean the microwave and stove and the stovetop no longer worked. I called High Tech Appliance and Atiar came same day to diagnose the repair (spark module). He came the next day with the part and fixed the stovetop within an hour. He was honest, helpful, pleasant and did a fantastic job. I would definitely recommend Atiar and call High Tech Appliance Service again if we have any issues with our appliances in the future. Thanks Atiar - you were a lifesaver going into a long weekend!

We were looking at getting our deck re-stained and had read some favourable reviews on Homestars for Good Looking Homes. Liam was incredibly prompt to come by our house and provide us a quote for the back deck. Although I wanted to re-stain our cedar deck, Liam advised against it as we couldn't match the colours consistently (which is true). We also had two doors replaced to the deck and the back yard gate. Again, Liam was very attentive however there were a few things that could have been done or explained better. The day his team was coming to the house (while my husband and I were at work) - he asked what kind of doors we wanted. This is something that I thought would be covered in advance and not the morning of the installation. Upon completion, the back deck door was not installed as outlined and paid for in the quote (one door instead of two doors which was his recommendation) Also, on the morning his team was coming to stain - he asked us to "pick a colour" but didn't provide a swatch or recommendation as "colour was subjective". The colour Russet Brown was a little "redder" than I would have liked as we had a beautiful cedar deck that was now half painted a reddish colour. Instead of stopping the job, choosing another colour and incur another thousand dollars in additional labour and supplied, we decided to complete the job. When the team was done (and they worked well into the night) there were a few pieces of wood that had not been painted. I asked his team to touch up the job and when they came out - there are still pieces that aren't painted - specifically the two spindles missed on the back of the deck. We've decided to simply touch up the job ourselves at this point. Liam is a decent guy and they did a good job on the deck however I don't believe I could recommend the job of his team to friends or family but they did work hard at the job.

I bought a voucher from Living Social for C&S Cleaning. When they finally returned my emails (voice mail was full) - they were rude and completely unaccommodating. When I booked the cleaning in April, they gave me a date in August. They were curt, unfriendly and unprofessional - like I was an incredible inconvenience to their business. When I needed to change the date (because we had a wedding on the one date they could book) - they stopped returning any emails. I have sent C&S Cleaning their reviews here - which are, quite possibly, the worst I've ever seen. I also advised that I would add to their rating...0 Please DO NOT buy a voucher from them and more importantly, do not give them your business. Thankfully, LivingSocial immediately reimbursed me the full amount after I made them aware of this company so that they could also no longer their service as an option. Don't waste your time or money.

We stumbled across Prestige on Homestars and read such great reviews so we called Sergio after we checked out their website (which is intuitive and easy to navigate). The online quote was easy and bang on for the cost. Sergio called back immediately and was an incredible pleasure to deal with. He and his team worked around our schedules (which is an absolute bonus) and did a phenomenal job. They take tremendous pride in a job well done and we'll definitely call upon Prestige again. Sergio...you rock!

We recently purchased our home and had already dealt with a bathroom incident with a poorly installed bathtub that ruined our ceiling, walls and hardwood flooring in our living and dining rooms two months ago. On Thursday I noticed water flooding in our basement coming from our Furnace room. We called a different plumber that night who came to our home, investigated and told us due to the excessive rain - it was the "weeping tile" outside of our home causing the flooding in our basement and he'd have to dig a 6 foot hole...to investigate asap for a minimum $2800. We decided to wait overnight and the flooding continued. I called Mr.Rooter at 6am Friday and Domenic arrived by 10am. Domenic thoroughly checked our basement/furnace room and said it couldn't be coming from outside - that it was most likely our water heater due to age. He then turned off our water heater and helped me drain the tank. He was extremely helpful and reassuring as we'd already dealt with enough water damage in our home. Domenic was correct and our cracked water heater was replaced two hours later by Direct Energy. The water damage stopped. Thankfully we called Mr.Rooter and thankfully Domenic was honest and trustworthy as we were vulnerable and believed it could be another few thousands in repairs. Instead Mr.Rooter charged us nothing and made the right call - as did we! We would definitely recommend Mr.Rooter - and call them again in the future!

Thank you for writing this review KS and hank you for giving us the opportunity to come into your home and diagnose the situation professionally for you. Homeowners should be extremely careful when hiring contractors to come into their home. There are shady companies who are out there gouging homeowners by misdiagnosing the problem and doing work that is not required. We live our code of values by " continuously striving to maximize internal and external customer loyalty." From the team at Mr. Rooter Plumbing. Thank you for your loyalty KS.
