From the first meeting with George, Renewal By Andersen has been a first class organization that has stood by their products and service guarantee. We replaced windows in 11 openings, added a storm door onto the back door and added dark bronze aluminum framing around our front door to match the exterior colour of our new windows. The installation took place over three visits, with the majority of the heavy lifting -- the actual window replacements -- taking place during the first. In all components of the installations the installation crews were exceptional in their craft, and super friendly. Each window was installed with excellence, and we ended up with nice, deep window sills and much thicker trim that was installed to perfection. The trim was even custom cut vertically in a tight spot so that a sliding closet door could still close without obstruction. We had some initial minor difficulty with our storm door and it was fully addressed -we love it now, and it gave us a true sense of how the company deals with issues that pop up. Every time a question or concern came up, it was fully addressed, explained and/or rectified, with no push-back whatsoever. They are not the cheapest company out there but this is one case where I believe you get what you pay for, and they are not aggressively trying to sell you things you don't need - I was talked out of many "like to have's" during our consultations - things that would have been more profitable for the company to do. They even cleared up misconceptions I had about more energy efficient windows, making it very clear what their products do and do not do (I was assuming superior sound insulation, for example). Even now, both George and Jeff are very attentive whenever I have questions about the product, and George checked in frequently post installation to make sure things were still a-ok. This review is being composed close to eight months after the installation so this is not a honeymoon period - it's a time-tested review after reserving judgment until I could see the windows perform in all seasons.

We rent a hot water tank from Reliance Home Comfort; this visit was paid for in our monthly fees. A week ago we started running out of hot water in our showers, which is unusual for our household. As the week progressed we lost hot water in shorter amounts of time until we lost hot water altogether. I called Reliance one night and by the next morning a friendly Technical Expert by the name of Chris rang my doorbell - what an impressive turnaround time! Chris was as skilled as he was friendly; he mixed in amiable conversation while efficiently diagnosing the problem. Part of the problem was directly related to the water tank, and Chris fixed it immediately by swapping out the 9-year-old part. The other part of the problem had to do with the mixing valve, which is not a Reliance part - it came with the house. Regardless of what was covered vs. what was not, Chris took the time to fully explain what was going on, in terms I could understand, and how he fixed the part directly related to the water tank, as well as what would need to be done to fix the part that had nothing to do with Reliance equipment. I'm now in a much better position to tackle the other part of the problem now that I at least know what is going on. Chris was also knowledgeable about the other Reliance products, as was evidence by his full answers about my tankless water heater questions. It's because of Chris that I'll be calling Reliance again... to thank them.

I went into the Fall Home Show looking for solutions to make my sunroom more efficient. Part of the issue was the airflow coming out of the 4 ducts in the room. The concept of sealing the ducts had crossed my mind, so Aeroseal GTA's booth caught our attention. This is where we met Joe. From the initial chat I could tell that Joe was not a salesman - he knew everything about the product - from the installation to the physics involved, he was able to answer all of our many questions, and he was incredibly professional. Without much hesitation, we called Joe back a few days later and booked an appointment. On the day of the appointment, Joe and Brad showed up on time with a smile and immediately got to it. I actually enjoyed having them in the house - they explained everything that was happening, and upon inspecting the duct work and our situation, they set reasonable expectations. Joe was able to assess everything from the position of the ducts to the condition of the furnace. I felt no hesitation in having them go throughout the house to prepare each duct for the procedure. They were neat and courteous. They put protection down for all finished areas (I have a finished basement). When the sealing started, we immediately saw one of our major problems: we had 700+ CFM of leakage. After a few minutes, the product began to speak for itself - we noticed a dramatic decline in the lost CFMs (their software tracks this in real time). Less than an hour later, they had reduced the leakage to 59 CFMs. All throughout the process, Joe and Brad were a pleasure to be around - they even helped out with some related tasks my basement contractor failed to finish, and the time just flew. I immediately noticed the result in my better-performing ducts. The toilet paper test on their website is true! As for the sunroom, two of the ducts showed major gains. For the other two, the airflow isn't where I'd like it to be, but it is an improvement over what it was before: practically non-existent. I was *very* pleased with the overall result, and I truly believe we can feel the difference already! The true test will be what happens in the middle of the winter, but I feel better knowing we did this - that was a 90%+ reduction in leakage, and well worth every penny. Thank you Aeroseal GTA for all of your help!
