I was having my kitchen renovated and wanted to upgrade the flooring in there from the cheap and poorly installed laminate that the previous owners had put in for some not only much nicer, but more environmentally friendly cork flooring. I learned that Flooring Canada carried the Torlys brand and that they would be able to get the cork flooring I was interested in. In the end, there were a few timing-related hiccups that came up with Flooring Canada, but none that were major enough to cause too much trouble and were mostly the result of some minor miscommunication between the staff.

Our 20-some year old garage door became misaligned and, consequently, wasn't operating properly. I phoned Door Doctor and was greeted with a very pleasant receptionist who was able to schedule someone to stop by right the next day. The Door Doctor quickly zeroed in on what the problem was and was able to get hold of the necessary parts later that same day, returning the next morning to make the repairs. Our door has been working flawlessly since then, so without doubt they got the diagnosis and treatment right!

The people at Paradise Bath did a great job of building our brand new tiled and glass door shower. There was a very small window of time in which this job ideally needed to be done, and Paradise Bath came through magnificently despite it being a very hectic time of year for them. I've also been very pleased with how committed they are to standing by their work - there were a few small issues with the shower that came up more recently, and they not only came over to do address the problem very promptly, but were very pleasant and courteous - I heartily recommend Paradise Bath!

I had our chimney cleaned and inspected by Top Hat and was very pleased with the service - they did a very through job and replaced a few parts that were quite worn and/or broken. They also left me with an inspection report, which is great to have on hand and in our files for future reference. I feel quite a bit safer using our chimney now that it's been thoroughly inspected and cleaned by the professionals at Top Hat!

I hired Service Master to do a thorough cleaning of our new home prior to our moving into it & following some reno work we were having done. Although I was very impressed initially with the man who came out to look at our place & give us an estimate, unfortunately the actual service did not quite live up to the name & I had to call them back to properly finish the job. Although they were supposed to have throughly cleaned the walls & ceilings, there was still plenty of dust visible on various walls throughout our home. Likewise, the windows & blinds were not cleaned throughly, with the blinds remaining quite filthy. The closets were also not throughly cleaned, with lots of dust remaining on the shelves. The carpet cleaning wasn't done as it should have been - or perhaps wasn't done at all - resulting in my insisting that they come back to do this properly since we would be moving into our home soon & would like to have the carpets clean before doing so. They agreed to come back, but unfortunately, did so the morning of our move, resulting in the carpets still being wet when we moved in. They're punctuality also left something to be desired. Overall, I wouldn't recommend them given the hefty price I paid, but perhaps for smaller, less costly jobs they'd be all right.

We had hardwood flooring put in in three of our rooms that were previously carpeted & had an overall pretty terrible experience with Rome Flooring. First of all, they completely failed in communicating with us - this work was being done on our new home which we'd not moved into yet, & we had to phone them repeatedly to find out how they were progressing & clear up any issues, rather than them phoning us. Secondly, although they claimed that all was finished, the floors were very rough to the touch & rather matte-looking, rather than being glossy & smooth to the touch. Convincing them that they needed to come back to address this was an ordeal in & of itself, & while they did end up agreeing to come back, the work they left behind was again not quite up to standard, what with splashing some of the finish on our walls & (new!) patio doors & whatnot. Thirdly, they left garbage behind, some in bags, some all over the place, including bits of carpet and floor all over, as well as loads of cigarette butts on our upstairs balcony, which is just not the sort of professionalism we were expecting. Fourthly, they moved our range to plug their machine into the range socket, and apparently "forgot" to move it back, which seems like a hard thing to miss & wreaks of laziness. Fifthly, they used the wrong wood (maple) despite our having requested oak, & also managed to use the wrong width (narrower) despite our having requested the thicker width! Unfortunately, we were in too much of a time crunch to have them start over with the right wood (i.e., the wood we'd requested), so we left it as is but are not impressed with their lack of ability to follow direction. Finally, we had left a bit of carpet on the top floor, so as to give them something to work with and make an adequate carpet-floor transition at the top of the stairs. I had mentioned this to them from the get-go, but despite having done so, they ripped this carpet out, and then some, so that the vertical part of the last step going up is only half covered in carpet and it looks nasty. Not even cleanly cut off. There are at least half a dozen additional things they did wrong or less than professionally, but suffice it to say that I would most certainly NOT recommend Rome Flooring to anyone, including my enemies!
