After my horrible experience w LeafFilter I was referred to Jack by a friend. Jack was able to give me an estimate over the phone and was available the following week to install. I had contacted a few places and most were unavailable until the fall. Thx to Jack my gutter guards and downspouts are ready for the fall! I truly appreciate him answering all my questions via email, coming in a timely way and sticking to his estimate. He is very professional and polite. No $11000 guilt trips and gimmicks here. thank you Jack!

This company has great homestar ratings and BBB but in Canada it seems to be very shifty. I made an appointment and a fellow turned up to do measurements. I know they are assessing how much they think you can afford as there's no reasonable product/labor explanation for the cost. My purchase hinged on the cost. I was prepared to buy it because of the American reviews. The price started at an OUTRAGEOUS $10k+ for '206' linear feet but dropped about 1/3 when I said that wasn't going to happen. Then I was told if they could put a sign in front there could be a further discount. Even $5500 is outrageous, as it didn't include HST. $6400 for gutter guards? When I further inquired about including/removing the HST, the salesperson kept saying he'd have to pay for it himself if the price got any lower! LOWER than $6400?!! I signed the contract because of the heavy rain but it was a poor decision on my part. Thank goodness for Buyer's Remorse law in Ontario and google reviews. I have sent two emails asking for the head office address so I can send my registered letter, or if the email canceling the contract will suffice and no reply. It might be a great product but the sales pitch is definitely bogus. It's odd that there is a reply to all of these terrible reviews yet the problem is never fixed. I am now off to the post office to send my registered cancelation letter to the head office. Note to LeafFilter sales team--when you are OVERCHARGING by a MILE, tell your sales reps to lay off the guilt tripping 'I'll have to pay for it myself' line.

I needed a company to move 2 pianos through some difficult spaces. One needed to be moved to another town. There were narrow doorways at two locations. I was impressed with the owner, & the movers who helped him-- the entire job. They were diligent, helpful, friendly and careful. They laid floor mats to ensure the floors weren't damaged. They ensured the pianos and the residences remained in tact. The completed the jobs on time and restored the area to the way it was before the move. They went above and beyond to ensure I was a 100% satisfied customer.

I needed a fridge relocated & the other moved out. Zaid was so polite, took great care answering questions in a timely way, moved the fridges so carefully not to damage them or anything else etc. Other companies wanted to charge a four hr minimum etc & not move the old fridge anywhere.

I chose Wet Basement Resolutions over 2 industry giants after meeting all three representatives and listening to all their presentations. Steve went the extra mile to accommodate all of my expectations, which changed frequently as I got new information. I liked him the most because his sales pitch was honest and I felt that I could trust him. He listens to the customer, is very professional, polite and helpful & thorough on the job. He also kept his word throughout the project on every single item. I developed some retention of ground water and it was very difficult to get in touch w the co as they were too busy for a couple of summers to come out to install more weeping tile. I spent a lot of time trying to reach them and eventually gave up.

I contacted Cdn Choice windows after a trusted neighbor referred them & I looked up their reviews & was pleased w their rating. Tony D. gave me a very informative windows presentation, moreso than any other rep. He wanted me to understand everything there was to know about the windows I was installing & be an informed consumer. I was stressed out because I discovered the previous job had enabled moisture to collect and rot the wood which in turn attracted carpenter ants. The night before I couldn't sleep. I was extremely anxious about whether or not the rotted wood would be replaced even tho Tony had assured me all of it would. The installation team, led by Simon was amazing. I haven't seen a work ethic like this in ages. All rotted wood was replaced, everything was done professionally. The installers did the job without stopping, or talking. Simon was very courteous & helpful. All my questions were answered. Having worked such a long day tirelessly, the crew did a phenomenal clean up job. I have had several contractors & they all say the clean up but non of them do. This was incredible. Even more incredible, was being able to turn my rotten back, ant infested window into a spacious beautiful bay window w a sliding door that opens and closes properly. thx to Tony. Tony promised he would attend the installation & that also comforted me. He came & I decided to purchase basement windows which he picked up for me so they could be installed at the same time. Tony, Simon & the installation team went the extra mile to make all my window dreams come true & nightmares disappear! A huge thx to Tony, Simon & Canadian Choice Windows.

$30 advertised 4 3 rooms. Great deal but u can't book an appointment & when u do this is what happens: Don't buy a groupon don't call them!!! They just left my house without cleaning ANYTHING!!! An aggressive woman wanted me to purchase some 'special' cleaning fluid 4 1 room. when i told her I would just get the regular cleaning that was included in the groupon & the stairs, she started saying that she could refuse to clean the carpet according to some course she'd taken becuz she didn't want dirt in her carpet cleaning machine. HILARIOUS!!! I asked her if she was recommending the solution or insisting on it. She got increasingly more aggressive and louder. She started saying how dirty the stairs were even tho they r not, even compared to homes I've been in who do not have pets. What a desperate sales pitch! She also said she couldn't guarantee getting any stains out. HILARIOUS! I said not to worry about the stains as I am going to have the carpets ripped out & put hardwood soon. The stains aren't that serious either since I used to have my carpets cleaned regularly. If u use soap & water they all come out. It's just dirt from dogs tracking dirt or plants etc. Regular household stuff. I also clean my stairs myself regularly. I turned to answer the phone & they left! They actually just left. I wouldn't trust these ppl in my house. Can u give them a minus rating??? Edit Delete

Actually after i read the great reviews here i referred this co to my mother b4 i even had my own work done. I was happy to find that Kerry was assigned to my house becuz ppl had mentioned him here. That inspired confidence. The owner Rhoda was very courteous & replied to my emails asap. |Not being a phone person, she accommodated my email preference all arrangements were made via email. Kerry was polite, friendly, helpful & gave me a very reasonable quote. I asked to have the neighbour's issue resolved as well as we r attached. We got the work done immediately--not 6 mo to a yr later like some companies. There was a minor miscommunication but Kerry was more than helpful, accommodating and reasonable. I'm looking forward to dry bricks the next time there is a mega downpour. A big thank u to Kerry for alieviating one less headache in my life!!! Great customer service :)

Andy is and was amazing. I gave him a 7 before, years ago but that was my mistake. He has done another house. He's punctual, helpful and does a great job. Sorry Andy! In addition, my previous comment yrs ago, that the paperwork was incorrect by Andy is/was incorrect. Andy did exactly what he said he was going to do, shingle and paperwork wise.

roxiane Nov 18 2011 Bought a new furnace from Direct Energy with a 12 year warranty in 2008. Furnace had been running fine until I followed up w the ‘annual maintenance’ and inspection. After the techs came this summer, I noticed a red light flashing on the furnace, so I called to find out if this was normal. Had it been there all along and I had not noticed it? A tech came out and said all was fine. Ok. Furnace starts flashing 2 red signals and finally stops working, period. Second tech comes out who is the same fellow who looked at the air conditioner. He can’t find the problem and orders a new ‘motherboard’. All is good for 2 weeks. Now sitting here in 13 degrees C. Three techs later, we’re waiting for tech #4? Can we just fix the problem? What’s going on here? Eventually they will tell me that it’s not covered, despite the fact that no one knows how to diagnose or fix a problem, it seems. Same thing happened with my old furnace, which now leads me to think maybe no one could fix it, just like now. I had this tech and that tech come over and eventually one says the last shouldn’t have done this or that without having done this or that first. Last tech just wasted a brand new motor, one says. Hmmm, you’re only covered for 4 visits…well, I wouldn’t need more visits if someone in that operation could fix that damn problem in the first visit. Now it’s a new furnace that was working just fine until they came to ‘maintain’ it. What the #@@L! Will today’s tech be better than the last 3 or just screw it up more? Who knows? Very frustrated and freezing. Annoyed that I bought a $6,000+ furnace that is being broken, it seems, by this incompetent company. So we're now on Nov 21, and waiting for tech #5?so far invested 16 hrs of my life waiting during 4 hr windows for techs to come. now sitting waiting on the phone when i should be getting ready for work. well at least the furnace worked on the weekend for two whole days. just ridiculous. really frutstrating. so fed up!!! Customer care rep is going to send out 'senior tech' tonight...hmmm PLS DO!!! This case was resolved when a senior tech was finally sent to figure it out. This tech informed me that the last 2 failed to replace the ignitor switch with the correct voltage when the motherboard was replaced. the new motherboard requires a 120V but each tech put another 80V to replace the last 80V burnt out switch. Therefore causing it to burn out again. It didn't sound like rocket science. So when i asked this tech what kind of training these 'technicians' have he said, 'all the training in the world won't help you if you have no common sense'. So I wonder, since this isn't the first time, doesn't sending out incompetent technicians over & over that replace parts regardless of correctly diagnosing any problem cost this company a lot of $$$? Wouldn't it behoove them to have some sort of evaluation process that weeds out these people? Can anyone become a furnace technician? Really it's too much! Get on top of it DE!!! At least the customer care dept seemed interested in finding out what the problem is. Maybe the solution is to hire competent techs in the first place! Followed up w Amy at the bottom of this email on Dec. 16, 2011. Haven't heard anything back. Is 'Amy' a virtual agent? I notice 'Amy' responds to many posts.
