On October 17, 2024, a LeafFilter Salesperson came to my place and gave me a quote to seal ten gutter seams. He made it sound like it was a big job requiring a team of perhaps 2 to 3 people, special ladders, etc., but none of it happened.
The next day, a LeafFilter Installer came and sealed the ten gutter seams using only 4 silicone tubes. No other work was done except placing 3 small hanging brackets ($4 each). The entire job took exactly 1.5 hour and I was charged $931.28 which constitutes an hourly rate of $698.46 that I find to be excessive.
After numerous emails and phone calls over a period of a week, the National Sales Manager finally called me. As I was telling him that an hourly rate of $698.46 was very unfair and excessive, his approach and behaviour became a little aggressive, arrogant, condescending, and he kept cutting me off, and even started talking down at to me. At this point, I told him to please talk to me like a reasonable and normal person and to show fairness and understanding. And I asked him if there was any way we could come to some kind of satisfactory compromise for LeafFilter and me.
His answer was "There will be no compromise, you signed a contract, and that is the way it is".
Because I really believed that the Salesperson had integrity and was an honest, knowledgeable, and trustworthy person, I signed the contract. Shame on me for signing the contract in the first place. But SHAME on LeafFilter and the Salesperson for charging such exorbitant and outrageous prices. I am a senior (74 years old) with serious health issues and I feel that I was taken advantage.
I was hoping that LeafFilter would be willing to come to an acceptable and fair compromise, but they won't. They won't return my numerous calls or answer my numerous emails.
