We've been renting our water heater for over 15 years now (automatically put on a rental when we purchased our new home) and decided it's time to end that agreement. I contacted Reliance to cancel the contract and was offered the option of a buyout for $105. This is reasonable considering the tank is about 16 yrs old. I was told we would see the updates in our account in 2-3 business days. 7 days later I called for an update and was told there was a technical issue preventing the buyout from being processed. After further discussions I was then told (again) that it would be processed in 2-3 business days. Another 7 days later I called again for an update and was told the buyout is in progress but the technical issue was causing delays. Once again, I was told to wait 2-3 business days for the process to complete. It has now been another 6 days and still no update from Reliance. In the meantime we have received another invoice for a 3 month (advance) rental period. The process should not take this long, and I should not have to keep calling back. Now after several weeks I have no idea what is happening - perhaps they're just trying to keep putting it off so we have to keep paying the rental fees?! I will provide updates as they happen, but no, I would *DEFINITELY NOT* recommend this company!!! SEP 13 2022: Yesterday I emailed 3 different CS reps who have replied to other reviews here, but so far none of them have responded, so I decided to call in again. Once again, I was told the same thing - technical issues have delayed the buyout, but it IS being processed. The rep *promised* me the buyout is in progress and that it will be back-dated to my original call on August 22, 2022, and will reflect any payments made in the meantime. I asked for that in writing via email, but all he sent me was a reference #. I emailed back demanding the summary of our call in writing...we wait again. :/ SEP 16, 2022: Reliance finally sent the final invoices showing the remaining balance due and confirming the buyout of the water heater. After 4 phone calls and nearly a month of being told to "wait longer" it looks like the request is finally complete. Normally I would be happy to add a few stars to the review at this point, but this isn't the only issue we've had with Reliance in the past - one time a tech "red flagged" our furnace during a cleaning, which we later found out was not appropriate. As a result we had no heat (during the winter) for several weeks while we tried to get it resolved. We're happy to know we don't have to deal with Reliance ever again.

After reading reviews on HomeStars we decided to call Double Diamond Duct Cleaning and we're happy we did. I spoke with Mike on the phone to schedule the service, and he was very friendly and professional. The service technicians showed up exactly when I was told to expect them, and they were friendly and approachable the entire time. They told us what they would be doing, were respectful of our home and our cats, and finished the job quickly. Mike #2 (the service tech) showed us before and after photos of the main trunk and they even replaced the furnace filter and checked the HRV system for us. Over and above. I could feel an improvement in the air quality after they finished. We knew exactly what to expect with the costs and they came right in at the estimate provided. There are so many duct cleaning companies that use pressure tactics via telemarketing, so it's hard to know who to trust. I would definitely recommend calling Double Diamond, and we will for sure call them again in the future when it's time for another cleaning.

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I believe this company pulled a fast one on us. We're usually pretty good about checking reviews before hiring someone, but it's been a stressful couple of weeks, so we were off our game. :/ Our Samsung Dryer started making strange noises (like metal scraping metal), and unfortunately the company we usually call does not service Samsung appliances, so we had to find another option. I found ApplianceRepairTeam.ca and it seemed legit - they were friendly and responsive - no complaints there. That's where the postive experience ends - they hooked us into signing the bill up front ($280) before the work was done, and then told us there were additional charges of $145 to supply and install a defective part, that only costs about $40. That evening after the work was done my wife ended up searching online for reviews when we came across hundreds of negative reviews, an "F" rating with a warning from the Better Business Bureau, and a lawsuit in the works. :( Unfortunately it was too late for us. We ended up paying them $480 for a repair that should have been half that. I contacted the company and demanded a partial refund (yes, I can be reasonable), but they refused. I have already filed a complaint with Consumer Protection Ontario and will continue to post my opinions and unbiased reviews elsewhere. For the record, the dryer was working when the technician left, however now it is making strange, loud clunking noises it was not making before the 'repair'.

Our pool was still functional, however we just haven't been using it the last few years so we decided it wasn't worth the time, effort and cost to maintain it. After finally deciding to have it filled in we contacted several contractors for quotes. Michael came out to see the property and was very professional, friendly and considerate of our needs/wants - so we gave them the job. The start of the project was delayed due to weather, but when they came in there was no messing around! The work was completed in less than 2 days and the end result is exactly what we were hoping for! Joanne is very pleasant and helpful, and Michael and his crew were always very professional and friendly. Most importantly, the work was done with great pride and always with our needs/wants at the forefront. I would 100% recommend Blue2Green to anyone considering filling in their pool!
