Multicity Moving No Longer In Business

I had a worry free move thanks to MultiCity Movers. The staff was kind, friendly and professional. My referral was right. I had less things to worry. If they weren't so helpful definitely I would run to problems.

I called Abraham from Mlticity Moving Inc. in November to help me move out of my house, which was very simple and easy thanks to his crew. I didn't expect that I would need to call him back so soon in December on such a short notice to move me out of my Industrial unit, but with an unexpected end of December move, Abraham was really accommodating. As usual, the guys took great care of my stuff, and even on a snowy December day they were attentive and a pleasure to be around. Thanks so much to Abraham and his team. Much appreciated. Nazaret

I am not one to ever write negative reviews, but moves are expensive, and if I can help prevent anyone else from experiencing this, I want to do what I can.

This was the most unprofessional, frustrating moving experience ever...and I have moved over 12 times. I actually used this company once before and was more than very satisfied. They were professional, went the extra mile, and although it wasn't the most inexpensive move, I felt it was well worth it. Not the case this time!!

What makes this even more frustrating is that this was the most straightforward of all my moves. All my belongings were in a single storage locker, all coming to one destination. 70% of the move was boxes, which I simply asked them to place in the garage. There were a handful of pieces that went downstairs with the balance remaining on the main floor. In that very simple, 1 bedroom apartment move, there were damages done to 3 different doorframes, 2 different walls, our new hardwood floors and multiple damages to my antique table and rocking chair. Add to that, a broken brand new Cuisinart coffee machine and a lost pedestal table...never to be found. Add insult to injury, there was a large bin full of materials that arrived - not mine. After 5 attempts to have someone pick it up, I have decided to photograph it and post it online...perhaps the person who is missing it might appreciate the opportunity to pick it up.

I was asked to photograph all the damage, and send my report itemizing all the damage....which I did. After many weeks of back and forth, I was offered $50 in payment...that would not even replace the table...never mind the coffee maker and damage done to all the surfaces. And they still have not arranged for the pickup of the large container that was not mine...months later.

In an industry that is extremely competitive, I would advise you to tread very carefully if looking at this company. Although Leslie, the voice/face of the company was always helpful and professional...virtually everyone else was more than disappointing.

We had a fixed price contract including temporary storage in Toronto. They told us to call them a couple of days in advance when we’d need the shipment in New York

The Toronto 3 man moving crew showed up on time and was efficient.

We called their office 2 weeks in advance about the shipment date to New York. They said OK. but no email confirmation. I called again 2 days in advance to confirm and they said OK and emailed me the final invoice. To my amazement the price was $700 more and written on the deposit receipt I signed 2 months before. So the document had my signature and the new price. Luckily I kept all paperwork and discovered that.

They said that because of hurricane Sandy they could not consolidate our shipment with other clients in NY area. Back when I signed the contract they said I wouldn’t have to wait for any consolidation. .
They made a few attempts to push me to the higher price saying otherwise the shipment will have to wait till next consolidation..

After we agreed to a 2-3 weeks delay I suddenly got a one liner email that we’d get our shipment the next day. Apparently hurricane Sandy or consolidation were not a problem

The movers in NY first gave me an invoice with the same inflated price. When we flatly refused they produced the original fixed price invoice.

We had some damage. Back mirror of a display cabinet was shattered to pieces. This item was previously moved twice with no damage

CONCLUSION

If you deal with them make sure you have every detail in writing, do not trust a verbal promise, and keep all paperwork until the shipment is delivered It’s safer to have a fixed price contract to avoid nasty surprises.

Robert and his moving team, packed and stored our things while we were between homes, and helped us move twice. All our glass items were carefully packed, and items stored, and both moves was punctual and efficient. Robert would email when crew begun loading truck and again when they left storage facility, movers arrived early, and unloaded carefully and efficiently. Movers Eddy, Danny and Ricky were very competent, cheerful, and took great care of our things. Storage and moving costs were reasonable! We were charged for only hours used. We would recommend Multicity and Absolute Storage.

Wish to complement Herb Bondar and his team for a well planned and safely delivered move to Florida. Additionally we have used Absolute Self Storage and are pleased with the security and cleanliness of the facility. All in all well done.
