I came home from work to find my toilet leaking, so I called Matthew. He was at my house in about an hour, and my new toilet was installed soon afterwards. It was a tricky job because the flange was busted, and it required a trip to Home Depot, but Matthew was great about it even though it was late on a Monday night. He does excellent work, and he's very direct and professional, so I'd recommend him to anyone.

This is my first time cold calling someone based on reviews from Homestars and I was not disappointed in the least. Matthew was on time, courteous, thorough and very knowledgeable. He problem solved and repaired "three pain in the neck little jobs" (my description ... he approached the whole matter with great professionalism) in our main bathroom with the same attention and care as I imagine he gives much larger jobs given the reviews I have read. He pointed out something to me that I had missed when the original bathroom renovation was done six years ago and that explains why I was having a problem, and he solved it. He even tightened the toilet seat which he noticed was a little loose ... a two second job, and one I had been meaning to take a screwdriver up to the bathroom to do for four months! If I have to call a plumber again, Matthew will be the one!

This is an honest and hard-working guy. Not many plumbers would come by at the end of a long day for such a small job, but he did. He's very professional, and I'd definitely recommend him.

This was the third or fourth time that I have used Matthew for plumbing projects over the past 5 years. Once again Matthew did a great job as usual.

I found Matthew right here at homestars.com. Everything that I read was completely true. Matthew is just a very trustworthy plumber and he works hard and did a fantastic job plumbing my darkroom. This wasn't your typical plumbing job but Matthew was totally up for it. He's not just at the top of my list, he is my list.

I contacted Matt on the recommendation of a neighbour. He called back quickly and we scheduled an appointment. He arrived on time, assessed the situation, asked me what I wanted and went out to purchase a new sink and piping etc. He did not ask for any money up front. He came back in the late afternoon and completed the job thoroughly in approximately two hours. Before he left he gave me a few pointers on using the sink over the first couple of days. Matt is a young man but he has traditional values when it comes to customer service and satisfcation. He's also a man of his word and I respect that. I recommend him highly.

Matt came, wasted no time, had an estimate ready in 5 minutes flat, stated that instead of replacing he would always look for a way to repair if that would make sense, returned a few days later, shopped for the items that were needed, fixed the whole sjabang and was gone in a matter of hours without a trace.

Matt was one of four bids on my big reno job and he came in about the middle for price. What sealed the deal was his ability to talk about what we wanted and then educate us on what was possible and sensible from a plumbing perspective. He knows how to design supply and waste systems that work properly. He was the only bidder to measure and inspect what we had without pressuring upfront for a $300 "camera fee". If someone tells you that - just call Matt!

On the main floor, Matt and the crew relocated the toilet & vanity. In the basement, they roughed in and installed a new three piece bathroom. Matt walked me through all of the options for supply and waste piping - and what fixtures would be best to use without breaking the bank. Midway through the project, I was so pleased with the quality and progress - I asked to extend the new waste piping in the basement to the front wall. On the supply side, Matt ran new 3/4" trunk lines with 1/2" branches to the fixtures. Now we can run the washer and flush a toilet while someone is in the shower - with virtually no drop in pressure and no temp change. (I have 3/4" supply at the meter and to the hot water heater.)

I have already recommended Matt twice and will use him again for new or repair work. He may not have the advertising budget or review volume to get his name at the top of Home Stars - but on quality alone - he is the man.

Mathew helped us move our plumbing around in our bathroom in a way in which 2 other contractors told us was not possible. Can't recommend Son plumbing enough, keep up the great work!
