A Dreadful Experience So Far

We indeed wish we had read the reviews before we booked this company.
We called them because they promised prompt service. The dishwasher would not always drain, and the fridge was leaking small quantities of water. So far, the installation of a new drain pump in the dishwasher appears to have done the trick, but we cannot yet be sure. We paid at least $470 (no proper, detailed invoices) for diagnosing (supposedly) the fault in the fridge, ordering a new water valve, nand ten minutes labour plus transport. We called them back. The fridge still leaked. After eight minutes work we were told that the water valve had been tightened. The mechanic said, before leaving, that we might consider replacing the copper water line that leads into the rear of the fridge during the coming months. When he left, we found the fridge still leaked. When we complained, we were informed that a further visit would only take place if we paid for a plumber to replace the water line. We called another firm that also does plumbing. The water line is just fine. We probably never needed the new water valve. There is a crack in the tubing from the ice maker to the water valve at the very point it enters the valve. This is responsible for the leak. The part has been odered. We wIll pay the other company an extra $364. We informed A-team, noting that the water line had been inspected. They have refused a refund. We can proceed to small claims court (which is clogged up - and there already are apparently claims against this company), complain to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs (which already has a file, or engage in an expensive legal action . See below for the crack A Team did not diagnose

Shady contracts

I had a technician come and charge me $500+ as a deposit for replacement of a part that needed to be ordered. The company called the next day and said the part wasn't available, and backed out of the project. However they are keeping $260 + HST (the labour costs to replace the part) as those are non-refundable according to the contract.

The reason is that the fine print in the contracts says that any labour costs you are agreeing to are only for whatever they have already done that day, so you owe them 100% of the labour even if they never do the project.

If for some reason you do decide to work with these people and they need to come back another day to finish a job, make absolutely sure before you sign anything that they can actually do that job. Because if for some reason they can't do it, they will still charge you 100% on the labour.

Refrigerator repair

Paid for diagnostic and parts, however parts I had to wait two weeks, parts came in and the new technician said they diagnosed wrong and now they now want an additional $300.00 and we waited another two weeks then they called and said the parts are broken due to shipment, so wait another two weeks. It is a month now, when the technician arrived he said he fixed it and now wants more money and no cheque or visa just cash or debit. The fridge was making noise and they said give it two hours and it will be fine. next day the fridge died. Had to buy new fridge. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Their customer service department don't even know their bosses name.

appliance repair

This company misleadsyou, does not fulfill their service call, replaces part that was not faulty. Management non professional and rude. Do not use this company. Check their ratings.
They ask for 80.00 before they even check appliance, then they offer a 295.00 service to check all components. They do not check all components. They replace the most common part which fails even if its not broken.

Oven Repair

Do not use this company . The responded immediately to look at my wall oven. They said they had to take it to their 'lab' to repair and wanted prepayment. They provided a written commitment to pick up same day and showed up a week later. 2 weeks later they returned the stove and it worked long enough to have the technician leave my home. They refused to come back to honor their 30 day warranty unless more $$ are paid. Customer service agent very rude . Avoid this company !!

Microwave Repair

Truth be told, our little family was shattered without a microwave (Samsung, 2016). We're strong believers in fixing what we have. The cost for a new part may seem pricey but was well worth it when you factor in time it takes to shop for a new one (and hassle of lack of availability) plus the stress of will it fit or not. Thank you for the quick response and repair within the estimated time period. Works like a dream again!

WHY WHY WHY didn't I check the reviews first???

Unprofessional, cancelled appointments repeatedly. When they finally showed up, they told me they would charge me $120 for the visit but would waived if I repaired through them. Diagnosed the problem as a bad element on my cooktop, 600$ for the part and $400 labour. I agreed like a dummy. Charged me 70% upfront and only took debit (red flag!). Took 3 months to get back to me with an appointment. Came back and replaced the part and SURPRISE, it was still broken with the same issue. Told me they had to take the whole cooktop into their lab. Left me without a stove for over a month only to call me back and say they couldn't find the part and I was basically out of luck. No refunds for no work done and would not refund the $600 part that was unneeded. Then took a couple weeks to show up to return the cooktop. So I ended up out $700, went without a stove for months and ended up in the exact same place I started with. Any other reputable company would have told me up front vs randomly replacing expensive parts. Completely inept and unprofessional. I will never hire them again and will go out of my way to warn others. Thinking about taking them to small claims court.

Evil Company

The A Team Appliance Repair is a company full of inexperienced crack pot people in my opinion.
My washing machine broke and I called them. What ensued was 5 weeks of blunders, missed appointments, and over charging to order and install a new actuator. The repair person who looked me in the eyes and told the untruths about everything is called Jerome, a seedy and weak individual.

Never ever again will I be so ill informed as to not read reviews and do research on a repair company. I suggest you do not use The A Team Appliance Repair ever. It has been the WORST experience in customer service and repair I have ever experienced.

This team is taking money from Canadians to pay their salaries and in return they do not come though on their end of the deal with repairs. Do not use this company, period. I hope this company falls apart out of severe debt and they end up alone on an island for life, stepping on Lego instead of sand.

I have demanded my money back ($489.10) for services not done. I lodged a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Ministry of Ontario.

People need to start contacting the leasing manager of this shady company supposedly at 69 Connie Cresc. She is only now hearing about this fraudulent company supposidly renting in her lot. Her name is Vivian Voo 905 907 1600 ex. 216.
