I requested a WSIB clearance certificate which they couldn't provide since their employees aren't covered. They offered to send a copy of their alternate insurance, which I never received. On the moving day, two men showed up. I explained in what order I wanted the items loaded (heavy furniture and boxes in front on the floor, lighter boxes on top) which they completely ignored. When I objected, they told me that "this is the way we do it". They said that the U-Haul truck I had was far too small for the amount of items I had, which cleraly was not the case since I used the same size truck to move the same items to my current location. They had no knowledge of space utilization or weight distribution. After an hour of arguing and re-arranging the boxes, I told them to leave. Because of their complete incompetence and attitude towards me, I ended up doing more work than if I had done the job by myself in the first place

I first hired them to unload a truck which they did efficiently. When I needed to move my stuff from the storage unit on Derry Rd to Etobicoke, I hired them again. This time they were SLOW, and wasted a lot of time. They took SEVEN hours to load, unload and drive the truck. When I told my original movers from the US, he was very upset and told me they took advantage of me. I will NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!

I hired 2 movers to help me unload my U-Haul truck for 2 hours. They were super quick, professional, and kind. They were done 30 minutes early.

Kristiyan and his colleagues were an amazing help in assisting us with our move. They unloaded our truck very efficiently and were able to complete the entire move of a 1-bedroom apartment in less than 2 hours! They were professional but also friendly and courteous and were willing to make things work despite some challenges owing to the location. Would highly recommend their services!

I have used the services of Gold Star Movers five times over the past 5 years. In June 2018, I used them to unload a U-Haul truck filled with my daughter's belongings into our Toronto house when she returned home from attending university in the U.S. A few months later I hired Gold Star again to load her stuff into a U-Haul, doing a great job of loading, and unloaded into her 2nd floor walk-up apartment later the same day.

Last week our daughter was moving out of her Toronto apartment and when we booked the U-Haul a few weeks earlier I was thrilled to see that Gold Star was still on the U-Haul "Moving Help" list. I did not hesitate to book them again to load her Toronto apartment contents, which would include more furniture and fragile items than the previous moves. When I could not find a local company to unload in Guelph, her destination, I inquired with Gold Star as to whether they might be able to handle that job, as well, and they did not hesitate to help us out. Gold Star's crew on the move out, Roberto and Ivo, did a fabulous job of loading the 15' truck on a Thursday afternoon, using every useable inch of space, in almost no time at all. The next morning in Guelph, Ivo arrived with Kristiyan before the designated time of 8:30 am, and unloaded beautifully. We were able to return the U-Haul to its Guelph drop-off location well before its 24-hour rental limit.

In all these moves loading and unloading U-Haul trucks, nothing has ever been broken by the Gold Star crews and service has always been exemplary. The crew members have been extremely polite and eager to please and have never griped about excessive numbers of stairs within apartment buildings and inside units. I would not hesitate to use Gold Star Movers again and to highly recommend their services.
