Long time ADT client, over 10 years. Really not much to say, we paid the bill and forgot about it.
Problems started when we interacted with company. Sales reps are dishonest, in order to get commissions trying to ask us to cancel existing service so they can "sell" us a new system (as the new systems have way more features etc)
Contacted ADT asking if any sort of upgrade path and turned away.
Told ADT we wanted to cancel our services. They claim the first request was not made through the "proper channels"
So they send us a bill for time we were not even using service and had thought service was cancelled.
We called in, and got transferred to Loyalty. Loyalty told us alot of false information (eg "bundle" discount with Public Mobile since both owned by Telus) and after discussing issues with company we said we wanted to cancel our services.
ADT said NO
They basically are REFUSING our request to cancel service (no contract as this is very old system) unless we agree to future date the cancellation (pay them for additional time without the system)
Its so ridiculous. Requested call back from supervisor / manager and filed complaints with Ontario Consumer Protection (they cant refuse to cancel service and cant force you to pay for future billing)
