Appliance Repair Expert

I usually don't like to write negative reviews, but I have to share my experience with appliance repair expert. I cannot describe how unprofessional and unresponsive they are.

My dryer broke in September and I called them. A technician came on the same day and he was very helpful and friendly. The Samsung part that needed to be replaced however could not be found anywhere in Canada so a special order had to be made from the U.S. which is a little strange, but that's not the main issue.

The part would take 5-8 weeks to arrive so I approved of the order and paid 50% of the total cost (replacement part plus labour). So I paid $279.11 on September 20, 2021 and I received an invoice via email.

7 weeks go by without hearing from them, so I contact the technician and he responds by telling me he no longer works for the company and that my order was transferred to another technician. So I call the company and ask about my order and they tell me over the phone that my order has been CANCELLED. Why was it cancelled? Why did they not communicate to me that it was cancelled? Why am I sitting around waiting for this replacement part for nothing? So I ask for an explanation and for some reason, they are not allowed to deal with customer service related issues and the ONLY option is the EMAIL the manager. The manager cannot be reached by phone.

So I email the manager and no response. I call the company again and they said wait 2-3 business days. 10 DAYS go by until I finally get a reply from the manager. The email response was friendly and courteous. He apologized for the inconvenience and said he would personally get back to me when he finds out more information.

No update after 5 days so I email the manager again asking for an update, and as of today, it has been another 5 days with no response. That's 10 total days since I've heard back from the manager and I cannot get a single update, explanation, or refund for my $279.11 that I already paid.

What am I supposed to do now? What kind of business runs like this? I chose to call appliance repair expert because of all the 5-star reviews, but I can only speak of my personal experience and this has been a nightmare. I have a young toddler and I have to do the laundry 2-3 times a week. Driving to the coin laundry 20 minutes away for the past 2 months has been extremely inconvenient, but that is nothing compared to the frustration of how UNRESPONSIVE this company is.

PLEASE CARE ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS.

Vito, if you read this review, please have the decency to respond to my email and issue me a refund for wasting the past 9 weeks of my life.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude both for the quality of the work performed with my refrigerator that was cooling food and for the exorbitant help with really good advice during the execution of the order!

I would not trust this company. I called them to fix or replace my range hood. The young man they sent did not know what to do, was unable to tell me anything about what was wrong or what I needed to do to fix it. He spent his time doing internet searches on his phone, and asked me to help with that. He took photos and said he'd get back to me. I paid the $100 for this (he tried to overcharge me too).

Unsurprisingly, he did not get back to me. I followed up with him, he repeated his promise to back to me, and then nothing. Meanwhile, the company called me repeatedly to ask if I wanted to proceed with the repair, and each time I had to explain to them that the guy hasn't given me any idea about what the repair will involve, how much it would cost, and so on. I tried contacting the management, left a couple of phone messages, and have not heard back.

I feel deeply suspicious about this company. I would advise others to go somewhere else for their appliance repairs.

I had my dishwasher fixed with these guys last month. Everything took approximately 40-50 minutes which was pretty fast. As of now, the machine runs smoothly with no complaints.Thank you Appliance Repair Experts.

Their website has BBB logo on it which is deceiving! They are NOT BBB Accredited business.

Called in a Service Request (Jun 9, 2021). Alex attended to the Work Order on Jun 11, 2021. Alex assessed the washing machine and said they need parts which will arrive in 4 weeks (1 month). Parts order approved on Jun 21, 2021.

6 weeks passed without an update.
4 MONTHS passed, no one called...

Sep 28 – Called vendor and left VM – no call back
Sep 29 - Called vendor, left VM – no call back
Sep 30 – Called vendor, left VM – no call back
Oct 4 – Called vendor, left VM – no call back
Oct 5 – Called vendor, final spoke with Alexandra, they don't know when the parts will come in, she offered to cancel order, I told her that its the easy way out but doesn't solve the problem. I asked to find out where the parts are and call us back with an update.
Oct 8 – Vendor didn’t call… Called vendor, Alexandra said she will call back at 5PM.
Oct 24- Vendor didn’t call to date.

This company also used our logo on their website WITHOUT our consent to gain credibility which they clearly do not deserve....

We are removing this company from our database and will issue a notice to remove our logo from their site or we will proceed with a legal action.

Can certainly recommend Appliance Repair Expert! Just great! It feels like it will be a friendship for a long time. I am very pleased with the work which is done!

RUN! The 1st time I called them, the technician didn't came neither give a call or tried to reschedule. The 2nd time I called, their "technician" came to look over the microwave to provide a quote. He BROKE another part (the front vent) and leave WITHOUT mentioning it. This part alone is around another C$100.00! I called their manager and he said he was going to look after the case and provide a solution in one or two days. He never returned any calls or a single email. All subsequent calls go direct to the voice mail. And last but not least, on their site, they do not accept bad reviews. If there is a worst service on Earth is yet to know... Avoid at all costs!

Great company! Which can solve non-standard problems in repair. The refrigerator was fixed quickly and with high quality. The availability of quality tools and consumables was very important to me. I sincerely recommend everyone to contact Appliance Repair Expert!

I paid just under 249 dollars for my washer to be repaired and did not receive that service. The technician did not provide a real diagnosis, but told me it needed some kind of pump, which would need to be ordered.

After three weeks of me calling, he showed up with a door lock, and pretended to install it- tried to fool me; my washer did not need a new door lock. When I called him out on it, he began to give some nonsensical explanation and he was asked to leave.

I called their office to ask for a refund, and three weeks later and after at least four phone calls, I am told that a refund has been issued- I have not received it. The manager actually hung up the phone on me this morning. This is the kind of 'business' they run. Like a previous reviewer said- they wasted my time, but I also paid 249 dollars for nothing. These are the kind of people they are!
