By far, the best service you could ever imagine. This is going to be a bit of a long story because Scott is THAT amazing. If you don’t have time to read the story (TL; DR), fine—just skip to after it.
Story: I just moved to Ottawa, didn’t have a network of people in the industry, and needed a plumber. I was getting a new kitchen counter installed and needed the plumbing disconnected prior to the counter install (Monday afternoon) and then reconnected after the install (Tuesday), as well as installation of the new faucet. I had calls out to three plumbers. Nobody had called me back (as I’m writing this, they still haven’t) and, on the Thursday prior to the Monday install, I was in a bit of a panic. I was given Scott’s name and number, so I called. Voicemail. I left a message but I wasn’t feeling optimistic because of the other plumbers. Inside of 10 minutes, Scott called back. “I absolutely cannot come on Monday but if you can deal with no water in your kitchen all weekend, I can disconnect tomorrow [Friday] morning.” True to his word, he did. He also installed shutoff valves. I told him that I’d let him know when the counter was installed so that he could reconnect, likely Tuesday morning, to which he said that Tuesday was booked but he’d do it early morning or after his planned work was done. Amazing. There was an issue with the faucet (the counter folks sent the wrong one) and I didn’t have the right one until late Tuesday night. At that point, I’d been without water in my kitchen for 5 days and was getting antsy. I asked Scott if he could connect the plumbing and install the faucet the next day (Wednesday). He said he would do it but didn’t have a time slot for me, could we play it by ear. I work from home—he just needs to tell me that he’s coming and we’re all set. At about 11, he texted to say that he’d be here within an hour—I responded “great!” Unfortunately, I was on a conference call, didn’t hear his text that he was here, didn’t hear my doorbell and, while still on the conference call, I checked my texts and saw Scott say “Waited 15. Text me when is good. I’m going to grab a coffee.” URGH!!!! Still on my conference call, I texted him, he told me he was on his way back here, I told him that I unlocked the front door for him. A few minutes later, while I’m STILL on the conference call, I heard him downstairs doing the work. Amazing. I had a 5-minute break before my next call, I went downstairs to say hi, and told him that I planned to be off the next call before he was finished. I wasn’t. About half an hour later, upstairs on the phone and looking out the window, I saw Scott walking to his truck and leaving. After my call, I went downstairs to the kitchen—all done. Seriously incredible. /end of story
Scott went above and beyond—and this was for such a small job. Amazing! If you need a GREAT plumber—one who’s reliable, adaptable, honest, and everything else good—call Tackle Plumbing. I’ve been giving his contact info to everyone I know so that if they ever need a plumber, they know who to call: Scott. I was almost hesitant to share my good fortune—if he gets many more clients, he won’t have time for my jobs… or for his family!—but I want Tackle Plumbing to be a huge success and for Scott to be everyone’s go-to for plumbing. He’s THAT amazing.
