We recently hired Carlo of Stone Contractors Group to fix our front porch which had become very unstable after the thaw this spring. Carlo was very prompt and explained everything he was going to do to repair the job. Carlo and his men did a great job. Not only does it look great, but it is structurally sound and I can rest assured that it won't shift as it did in the past. Carlo also pointed out some shortcuts the builder had taken when he built the porch. Carlo addressed these as well.

Our front stairs (15) were shifting due to sand and two piece interlock material treads. The flagstone had also shifted over 25 years. I wanted solid stone treads to be placed on the existing interlock walls, the railing to be re-used, and the flagstone to be re-laid.
Carlo of Stoneworks was confident that this could be realized. Other companies seemed very negative. They either wanted to replace everything, or not re-use my railing ($4000.00), or suggested a compromise. Not Carlo. He took one look and together we planned it out.
I recommend Carlo and his team very highly. Courtesy, prompt response to email or phone, delivery of his promises on time and on budget, and an outstanding job. He consulted with me as the work progressed to be sure I was happy.
They are professional, have attention to detail, and provide quality workmanship. They show up on time, work hard all day and leave the job site clean. I feel very fortunate to have found Carlo. My stairs would still be waiting to be done if I hadn't found him.
Normally, stairs are built then they are measured for the railing to be made. In this case, I had an existing railing to be re-installed. Carlo measured and planned it out carefully, and the result is fantastic. We are very happy with our completed project, and we feel that we got outstanding value from Carlo.

I had previously hired some contractors to remove an interior wall, to expose brick underneath. Unfortunately they left the brick in rough shape with some pretty noticeable damage.

I was in a bit of a pinch. I contacted a few masons, and almost all of them said I had to: replace all the brick, stain it, or do a new wall with veneer. All of this seemed like a bit much, since I had already invested a bit to get the bricks exposed. It also seemed a bit overkill, seeing as the house is old, I didn't want the wall to be too "new". It had to look old.

Alas, Carlo came by, and he had a totally different approach. You could tell he has a lot of experience! He said no problem, he could repair the wall. He also stressed the importance of making it look old, like an antique! It was music to my ears. He was the only mason who said this is possible.

So, I went with Carlo. The job took two days. I also had him patch up some concrete blocks in the basement which were in disrepair. The guys were very polite, and on time. You could tell they were true professionals and took their craft seriously. They also made a point to thoroughly clean up the space before leaving. They even cleaned some extra muck that was in my basement!

The brick looks great now! I am so pleased I don't have to invest any more money into it. I will use Carlo for more work in the future.

Churchill Construction did excavation and concrete work on our front landing and steps, they arrived on time, work was done as per quote and discussions, they left our premises clean and orderly. We would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone for this type of work.

I hired Stone Contractors to redo my old kitchen backsplash ……they where on time , did not cause damage to my stuff , respected my property and did an amazing job ……..Awesome !!

We hired carlos & team to redesign the front entrance & pathway in natural stone and also a natural stone walkways in river-rock bed on both sides of the house. Carlos is knowledgeable and experienced in laying natural stone and the related concrete work. He went the extra distance and diverted one of our downspout under the concrete as well.
Pros: Reasonable price, Takes pride in what they do, Leaves the job site clean at the end of each day, Uses good material and workmanship in completing the tasks and follows-up/updates as frequently as he can. Also suggests different design/ideas to improve as the project progress.
Cons: The job can take longer than what was estimated due to various reasons (including weather conditions and other projects he has on the go), Need to have everything you want done, material and measurements in the written contract that you sign, otherwise be prepared to pay extra.
In summary, Carlos will get the job done right but you will need to make sure that you have a firm plan on what you want done and make sure that the written contract has all the details to avoid any renegotiations/payments later.

Very professional. Easy to communicate with. Occasionally a little difficult to get a hold of. In the end very happy with the job!

Working with Carlo was a great experience. From the time I contacted him about getting a quote to the time he finished the project he was easy to work with and available for any questions. He gave us a comprehensive quote and even looked at surrounding wall and advised us of what we needed. He fit us into his schedule and worked personally on our stairs to make sure the job was up to his standard. We plan to use him again for future projects and we would highly recommend him to anyone looking for stone contractors. It's his own company and you can tell he cares about what he does.

I normally obtain at least 3 quotes before engaging a contractor for any sizable job. In this case, I hired Carlo of the Stone Contractors Group for this project though his was only the second quote. His quote was $1200 less than the other one, but more than that, Carlo inspired confidence that he could do the job properly and efficiently. He showed up with his apprentice on the day promised, and completed the job within the promised time frame, though one day was lost when they arrived late just as rain began to fall. I was very pleased with the overall solidity and finishing of the rebuilt steps, and with the repair of the cracked concrete front porch. When I brought to Carlo's attention that there were some tar deposits left on the steps, and that one step was not secure, they returned the next day to rectify the problem. No argument, no hassle. It was a pleasure dealing with Carlo - he was always pleasant, knowledgeable and professional, and he offered valuable advice on a related project, the installation of railings.
