I am so sorry to say that I cannot recommend MSJ Movers as a company. However I do want to make it 100% clear that the moving guys themselves were top notch, but the company is 100% terrible.
Having been burned before by unscrupulous movers I was extra careful this time. I arranged for a flat rate that was to include 4 movers and 2 - 26 foot trucks. On moving day only 3 guys showed up with 1 - 24 foot truck!!! Furthermore, the movers had no idea that a flat rate was agreed to (I had in in writing via email) and so when I asked the head mover to sign a piece of paper agreeing to it before they started moving stuff out of our house, he refused. After some unpleasant discussion and calls to dispatcher he finally agreed to sign it.
But the worst part was that I called my contact at MSJ, Danielle Lee to tell what's happening, she quicky said she would call me back and hung up on me. To make matters worse, she then obviously turned off her cellphone because I never did receive a call back AND everytime I tried to call her, I got a voicemail greeting which would not allow me to leave messages.
So. here we are with 25% less labour and 1 less truck. My husband ran out and rented a second truck and we continued on. With one less person the move took a lot longer and in the end we had to leave quite a bit behind AND we are out of pocket for the 2nd truck which was in the contract.
It has been 3 days since the move and I have yet to hear back from Danielle Lee at MSJ Movers. Didn't even get an apology or explanation of what happened.
In the end it got done with a lot of stress and extra labour on our part as my husband and I had to go back to the property and remove the remaining items via our own vehicles.
That said, the 3 movers that were there were wonderful guys - very courteous and hard working.
I do not recommend MSJ movers. Even though I thought I had protected myself by getting things in writing and working out a flat rate so there were no surprises, we still got burned.
Response to Vendor's response:
Sorry your response is completely untrue. We only lived in 3 bedrooms. One was an office which was on the list I provided you. The other was completely empty. There was only furniture for 3 bedrooms plus I provided you with a list of all the furniture that was to be moved. You did not live up to your contract period. Also we used OUR truck for the 2nd load. Your guys did not use your truck for both loads and did NOT make 2 trips. Get your facts straight. And you still did not respond or apologize for the fact that you hung up on me when I called you before the move started and then refused to answer the phone after you did not call me back like you promised. Yes we had a truck that we rented the day before for different purposes BUT WE PAID for the truck to keep it for the 2nd day when YOUR company did not live up to its promises by brining 2 trucks and 4 guys like the contract stated. In fact, we even moved out our patio furniture which was on the list on the night before which reduced your guys list on moving day.
Your response and blatant untruths to make your customer look bad make YOU and YOUR company look even worse. The least you could have done was fess up and apologize. An apology would have been considered good customer service and practice. Stuff happens. But to try to discredit your customer with inaccuracies just proves your company to be the sham that it is.
