A 1 Checkmate Wildlife Removal & Prevention.

Louis responded to my text immediately and changed his schedule that morning to accommodate removing a raccoon in our basement. He arrived promptly and immediately went to work. Very professional, friendly and courteous and solved our problem with ease. Price was extremely reasonable. I would highly recommend his services.

This is the second time in 4 years that I unfortunately had a pest problem - But unlike the first time I knew who to call!

My wife and I were starting to hear random scratching coming from our hallway and garage.

I called up Louis and he was by in another day. He began his investigation with some initial questions, continued to assess the area and the situation and then came to discuss several no pressure options and pros and cons to each.

After some thought, I decided to move forward with one of the options and Louis got to work. This was back in Oct 2021. He set up a time to come back out in Nov to finish off the work, but due to some unforeseen circumstances on my end I unfortunately had to push this date out.

My problem seemed to get a bit worse, which then led Louis to recommending another resource to try and kick things up a level. It is super rare to see someone actually be so honest to the point that they recommend trying another resource. Louis could have easily spun up some story to try and cover up any issues or possibly make a bit more money, but he owned up to it, was honest and recommended some next steps. This is probably one of the biggest reasons I like Louis is just due to his honesty.

Louis has lots of experience, is quick to understand the issue and concerns at hand - Has lots of helpful suggestions and is very patient in dealing with his clients. No question is a silly question with him, and he is more then happy to talk things through.

Louis has excellent communication (text updates as to when he will be coming by) and can be reached via email, text or phone.

He does what he says and keeps his promises, is on time (as much as possible though if he is late he will communicate it).

Literally this is the most important thing is that he keeps his word, and is largely on time. Rare in the industry!

Bottom line, I am happy to say that Louis is just the same as when I first used his services back in 2016 and while I look forward to chatting with him again but I dont look forward to having another issue to call him up for.

I hope he doesnt change and continues to do business as he does, as hes just great. Give him a call, you wont be dissapointed.

Louis is extremely helpful with unwanted critters. He communicates plan of action thoroughly and stands by his word/guarantee. If you need help with pest control I would contact him - highly recommend as excellent customer service.

My family bought an old house in Uxbridge, and quickly discovered a family of raccoons living in the chimney and multiple families of birds living in soffits in different areas of the house. Louis quickly identified the source of all of the issues (and a few others we hadn't noticed, including frogs!) His work was thorough and diligent, he kept me totally updated, never tried to oversell, and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. The price was more than fair, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Raccoon was only noticed approximately 10 days ago by my dogs. She was climbing up the siding on corner of house to second floor balcony, then up another floor to the soffit. I went to Homestars and A1 Checkmate Wildlife Removal had 10/10 rating with many reviews. I had heard no sounds or movement so was confident she hadn’t had any babies yet. I contacted Louis and was able to book an appointment in less than 24 hours. He arrived on time, checked the entry/exit and determined her location in the attic with a heat sensor. He explained his pricing and processes thoroughly and was able to complete the removal at that time. When Louis got into the attic, mama raccoon had 3 babies. Babies were removed and placed in a warning box, one roof corner was sealed, the other a one way door was affixed and waited for mama to come get her babies. She took over 12 hours to come down and took one baby. Louis came back the next morning and mom had taken one baby and may need another night to get the other two If she had trouble relocating herself. Louis explained every step and plan along the way. He even has a plan if mom raccoon can’t get back for the other two, he will transport them to a wildlife rescue. He will come and check the box again in morning.
I am so impressed, grateful and happy that Louis managed the raccoon extraction humanely and allows them to relocate themselves in familiar area. He went above and beyond, his customer service is exemplary.

I would highly recommend! Very professional and thorough job and they went above and beyond what was required. Completely cleaned and sanitized the vent piping. Crawled through my attic and fixed something else that wasn't working! I am extremely pleased to have this issue resolved. They also were prompt and on time!!

Lou was personable, calm, had a smile on his face and knew exactly what to do to retrieve the raccoon family from my house soffits. He extracted them humanely and safely. Once removed, the Mom raccoon had the ability and space to fetch her three babies individually.
The cost also included the need to add screen boxes over the five house vents on the roof - AND for a reasonable additional fee, I'll have Lou back to also install screens in my unfinished garage in the space at the top of the walls where it opens up to the soffits to prevent these animals from gaining access. Lou saw footprints on the wall ! and we saw broken vases that fell from a shelf as a result of the Momma raccoon scaling it to get up to the open soffits!!

Mama raccoon and baby were in attic/wall and were safely removed healthy and happy. Louis was very professional and respected COVID safety rules, we were very comfortable with Louis and it was an interesting experience and I learned a bit about raccoons that I didn't know! He not only rescued the pair of them, but secured 4 spots under the soffits as well. Great service and would recommend to everyone who needs the service!!
