A 1 Checkmate Wildlife Removal & Prevention.

We discovered a skunk under the shed in our backyard, and it was destroying our lawn! I contacted three companies, and Louis was the most responsive! He replied to my email inquiry with a phone call, almost immediately! He explained clearly what services his company provides, and offered to have Dave give us an estimate that day! He also had Dave contact me when he was on his way. That was most helpful, so I had an estimate of his arrival time. When Dave arrived, he assessed the situation, and in consultation with Louis, via phone, a quote was provided. I hired him to do the work, and he came the very next day!! Dave worked tirelessly to complete the work, digging a trench, installing a one way door, and metal mesh screening around the perimeter of the shed. He was very thorough, despite having to dig around tree roots on one side of the shed.
We are so grateful for Louis and Dave! They're honest and hard-working, and they provide excellent customer service, with their work guaranteed for five years! If we ever have a wildlife issue again, we'll contact them, and we will absolutely refer them to our friends and neighbours!

If I could give Louis a higher rating than a 10, I would. Hes been working in pest control for decades, and it shows.

He ensured that the pests that had entered our house were removed, but equally importantly, he sealed up all potential exterior points of entry. Vents, crawl space gaps, small foundation cracks, even under vinyl siding. Caulk, spray foam, cement, caging, he utilized all of it to seal up our home. As an aside, our home is markedly warmer than it was before, and no pests!

Ive already passed Louis name onto friends, and will continue to do so. This guy is a rare treasure, an extremely skilled, attentive and caring professional.

Had pest issues in my chimney, A 1 Checkmate Wildlife Removal & Prevention came by and put a one way door and stopped the pest. After a couple weeks, they came back and installed a chimney cover.

Squirrels decided to live rent free in our attic. They chewed through plastic roof vent then through roof until they landed in fluffy pink insulation and started making nests.
We did due diligence research considering word of mouth recommendations, Kijiji ads and HomeStarts reviews.
After talking to multiple wildlife removers, decision was made to hire Louis to humanly remove and do house proofing.
BEST DECISION Ever. Lous is true professional: polite, patient, very experienced, willing to listen, explain and answer every silly and tough question. Quote was provided over the phone and was reasonable regarding work to be done.
On agreed day of service Louis arrived on time, explained again what he has to do and proceeded with initial investigation from inside house to determine if any babies are in the attic using thermo-scanner. After that actual attic inspection was performed and results was negative no babies were there.
One way door was installed at points of entry. We initiated discussion how to house-proof of further intrusion. Louis we Never pushy nor tried to upsell his services. He only suggested what will be good idea to do. We decided to proceed with house-proofing and metal cages were installed over all roof vents.
After few days all squirrels were gone. But to our surprise in two weeks, they managed to find another point of entry. Right to his word and iron-clad 5-year warranty Lous installed another one-way door and applied industrial caulking/glue to similar potential points of entry on the soffit. New roof vent cover replacing chewed off was installed at the same time.
Thus, in the last 4 months there were no further attempts of squirrels unauthorized squatting in our attic. We are very confident they will not be able to break into attic again. In case they magically do that, Louis will be here to assist!
