Sitting here, enjoying our wonderfully warm home. On Thursday the service guy informed us that our 15 year old furnace needed a new $1600 DC motor. Time for a new unit. Phoned several dealers to get suggestions and budget pricing. Joe Casati was the best price, and that was on the furnace Consumers Reports recommends highest. He came by next morning (we have a fireplace and were not in a hurry) to check out our space etc. The following morning they arrived with the unit (American Standard platinum). Four hours later they were cleaned up and gone. Nice guys. Saved $1500. Verrrrry quiet unit. Unfortunately, it turns out he installed the unit incorrectly and I had condensation pooling on top of the unit. Luckily, none of the water got inside the electronics. Then he came to resolve the problem, he did not bother to put the doors back on correctly.
