Repair on a home appliance.

FC Universal Ltd probably has one of the rudest services in the area. The technician failed to write a proper receipt after the work. He did not write his name correctly (He misspelled his name one of the two receipts he gave to me... like how?). He did not write dates accurately. He did not explain how much the part was and how much the labour cost was. I brought this issue to their customer service, and their customer service was very useless. The lady with south-Asian accent was busy trying to justify the obvious issues.
I would never recommend anyone to use this company.

Incompetent, unknowledgeable, dishonest, terrible customer service

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I called Pickering Appliance Repair but they operate under FC Universal Ltd. "Moti" charged me for a service call and said I needed an expensive part for my washer. Two weeks later, they call and say they are still looking for the part. Frustrated, I diagnosed the problem and located the part, which I bought at a local store for less than $10.00. Thanks to youtube, fixed the washer in less than 15 minutes. They were prepared to charge me over $400 plus labour. They refused to reimburse me part of all of service call.

Oven repair

I called and specifically to ask how much it would be to have someone come out and repair my oven - the answer was $75 plus parts and if you did the work you don't pay the $75. What a joke.
Sergey arrived and informed me after only 2 minutes that it was either the thermometer or the master electrical board - which I had already told them over the phone because we had googled the problem already. In order to fix it he said it would be $240- their standard rate - plus the $50 part but that he couldn't do the work because it was a wall oven and you require two technicians. I had also told them it was a wall oven. So I offered to move it with him to replace the part because if he didn't fix it I was still going to have to pay the $75 for him to just look at it for the 2 minutes then leave. Why wasn't I told on the phone that the labour charge was automatically $240 instead they choose to pin point the $75 which would be refunded when the work it approved. How about giving the customer the price of what it will really cost.

oven repair

I had the old bake element changed for $108.00 labour and $104.00 for the installed part. The waived service charge of $75.00 was included in the price of the replacement part.

Washer Repair

NEVER EVER use this company. Repair man was unprofessional and was not knowledgeable about the appliance. I was ripped off to say the least. When I did a reverse look up on the phone number he gave it came up as someone who installs blinds. Well that says it all!!

Dishwasher and Fridge

The serviceman came and fixed the and freezer. Charged me for both. The dishwasher leaked again after the next use and he came back and had to clean out the drain lines. The freezer repair lasted less than 2 months. When we called to ask about a repair and the warranty they provide they said it's only for 1 week. I asked to speak with the owner. They never called back. They obviously DON'T STAND BEHIND THEIR WORKMANSHIP. Wouldn't recommend.

Service

Called to have a dryer serviced as it was not heating anymore. The guy showed up and quoted $250 to fix it - "it would take some time but it would be fixed". After 30 min. he came upstairs and said the dryer was temporarily fixed but we couldn't use it due to safety issue - a part needed to be ordered. The part costs $455 and takes 3-4 weeks to get. I paid $225 for this company to tell me my dryer is broken....THANKS I ALREADY KNOW THAT! I DO NOT recommend this company.

appliance repair of stacked washer dryer

Service problem affiliated with no hot water to washer and dryer not warming up. Issued relating to electronics was identified and fixed within 1/2hr and we were charged an outrageous amount of $423.75. When confronted, FC said, "this is how it works, we bill regardless of time taken". We errored by not getting a time quote ahead of time. I would recommend other home owners to stay away from this company.
