Icf Plus

We retained Justin and ICF plus to complete our recent ICF project. This project had well over 13000 sq/ft of overall ICF installation. Considering our project had significant height differences, elevation changes and requirement for several structural ICF concrete beams we were beyond thrilled with the overall quality and accuracy of work. There we no short cuts and Justin ensured all work was complete to the highest level of quality. We look forward to retaining ICF Plus on our next project.

Justin was extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. From quoting our project to completion he was courteous, responsive, and professional. The care and attention paid to not only our build but also the cleanliness of the job site, as well as keeping to our completion deadline was second to none and we are thankful we chose to go with such a reliable contractor. We would not hesitate to use ICF Plus again, or to recommend him to anyone considering building a home or cabin.

Justin and his crew were very easy to deal with. They came when they said they would and stayed at it until the house was locked in. Justin was very helpful right from planning to lockup making suggestions as we went along which was very appreciated.

Justin is difficult to work with. He doesn’t communicate well. For example He asked us if we wanted hurricane straps put in place. After some research to see if they were necessary we phoned him and told him yes we would like them. After foundation was poured we asked him where the hurricane straps were and he said we didn’t ask for them. Come to find out we have to “email him” with requests as he is far too busy to remember phone calls and he deletes all his texts. (We find this out at the end of the job) So as a result his crew put in at the most one nail in the hurricane strap. Some pulling out completely otherwise none of them were secured. When our house was placed (RTM home) they told us they are #1 required by the banks (come to find out during bank inspection that was one of the main things they look at) and #2 the way they were placed they are basically useless. When we tried to bring it up to Justin he wouldn’t let us have a word in edgewise and said one thing after another. So basically we spent $700 (far too much regardless.) on something that is useless.
Justin also kept pushing our project back. Partly because of weather, but mostly because of scheduling. Then the day before he was scheduled to come out he demanded a soil test to be completed” for his insurance”. Costing us more money, and more possible delays.
All in all Justin and his crew did a fair job. They did know what they were doing. In the end we had to ask them to come pick up their left over material that had been sitting there for a couple of weeks. However his attitude and they way he treated us and some of his crew is much to be desired. In the end we were just glad to give him his money and be done with him. We wouldn’t recommend him to anyone. There are other qualified contractors out there.

ICF plus was very committed to high-quality standards. Justin was extremely knowledgable and helpful beyond just building my house. He was able to make suggestions regarding positioning of the home, functionality of the driveway, and even future landscape considerations. The worksite was always very organized and cleaned daily. He answered any questions I had and always offered up solutions to improve the build. His staff were very courteous and professional. We have recommended ICF Plus to many other people
within our area as we know they will be well taken care of.

When you hire Justin you get 3 men. With great accuracy and workmanship. Also very cost effective.

My mother had a 25-year-old riverbank bungalow with a walkout basement. The foundation had pushed outwards and the rear wall moved slightly. Justin identified the problem, which had nothing to do with the riverbank. A missing sump pump caused soil to erode from 70 feet of rear foundation and about 25 feet on each of the sides.

A licensed engineer agreed with the analysis and signed off on Justin's work plan. Justin and his crew excavated 120 feet of foundation, including 20 feet that had to be dug by hand. A second foundation was poured and tied into the original with rebar as shown in the pictures. Weeping tile and a sump pump were installed, the foundation trench filled and tamped and the yard was landscaped.

Justin and his team with ICF Plus were an absolute dream and savior when building our home. They were able to give us sound advice and even took our calls late in the evenings when we was unsure of next steps. ICF was BEYOND professional and had the utmost reliable staff present at all time.

Having such a fantastic experience with Justin and ICF saved us a tremendous amount of headaches as this was the first time we built a home.
