Trail Appliances

The short story: Six weeks and still waiting after salespeople, managers and delivery persons all made mistakes. It seems noone knows much about what tehy are selling, nor do they care to find out.

The looooong story:
We went in to replace a compact washer with something dependable, preferably European. We purchased an ASKO as advertised on the sale list. It turned out that this was a 240V washer but this wasn't listed so we were called back in to find something else. We decided on a Blomberg and arranged delivery. When the delivery guys showed up they noted that the plug for the washer was a European one, said it wouldn't work and sent the washer back. After calls and another visit we were told that it should work with an adapter but we'd have to find one ourselves. We got an adapter, dropped back in to check that it was correct and were told we were set to go. When the installation guys showed up the washer didn't work and they sent it back for a another one. The next attempt came and the new washer didn't work. It turns our they did not read the manual where it clearly said the washer should NOT be plugged into an outlet directly but only through the dryer. So we bought a new dryer, sold our old one and then were told there were no more dryers and we would have to wait . We got the run around for a couple of weeks when finally the salesperson delivered our dryer. However he left a shipping bolt in and the washer bounced all over the room tearing our sink off the wall. The installation guys came again, took out the bolt and said the stacking kit was wrong. Turns out they were wrong about the kit but it was attached wrong. Six weeks later and we are waiting for that to be fixed.

Purchased a fridge on Jan. 29th, 2012. Sales person was great. We paid to have the door hinge on the left. When delivered, a week later, the door hinge was on the right. When a repairman came to fix it a part was missing. I now have an appointment for Feb. 27th for them to return. In the meantime I'm squeezing into the corner of my kitchen to get into my new fridge. Not a big deal but I'm feeling I didn't get what I paid for.

Washing Machine sprung a leak just before Christmas. Was worried that I would have difficulty getting it repaired or replaced. Called Trail and gave them the model number. Repair man turned up right on time. He pulled out the machine which is located in a very awkward setting in the bathroom, diagnosed the problem. He had the part on his truck and fixed the washer, cleaned up the work are all in less than and hour. He was polite, courteous and very efficient. This is the second time I have dealt with Trail and I will continue to do so.

Do not buy appliances from trail!!! Although the sales person that helped us was great we had a very bad experience during our delivery.
When our appliances arrived saturday morning we had purchased a washer/dryer, stove, microwave and dishwasher.
Lets just say everything that was suppost to be installed wasnt!
We were told that our microwave and washer dryer would be installed and when the delivery men came they said they didnt do that. Not only was the microwave not installed but the washer and dryer was not installed either due to us not having the right outlet. Just when we thought it couldnt get worse they took our old dishwasher but failed to tell us that our new one was being back ordered. So now we have our appliances sitting in our living room and no dishwasher! If you try to contact them good luck they dont respond. I will never recommend them to anyone. When you spend $6000 you expect to get what you paid for.

My story is that I called Trails appliances and inquired about the house call to repair my dishwasher. I was quoted a charge of $89 for basic house call + the tax .I was told I would be looking at $100.28. If there are no Parts need (I checked another service repair company, they quoted me $30 less, but have decided to go with Trails appliances)
When the serviceman came, he spent 5 minutes attending my dishwasher and 5 minutes writing the invoice, which to my surprise came to $157.58
$57.30 more than was quoted! I called the office with my complaint .He offered reduce to reduce the charge by $20 which he will take out of the pocket of the repairman! (Needless to say I did not go for that solution where Trails is generous with their employee’s money) ! I'd like to make it known that what you are quoted is not what you pay!
I’d rather give my business to small repairman who has integrity!

purchased a condo size fridge. the service was excellent and we were very impressed with selection. we were able to find exactly what we wanted at the price lower than expected. the delivery was very quick and set up only took minutes. very happy overall.

Bought a stakable washer and dryer for our suite in the basement.
we had to have a odd size to fit the space. The salesperson went beyond their store and phoned many manufactures to find the right size for us.

Timely response to questions asked, and competitive prices. Eventhough on of the appliances requested was unusual they were able to source it. Floor models were offered at a lower price than the new models. Available by phone or email the staff provided courteous service.

After thoroughly researching better quality and high end wall ovens and going to literally every larger appliance store in the Lower Mainland, I (once again) found that Trail Appliances not alone had the best price available on the product I ended up buying, but also that they were completely forthcoming with any and all information regarding the various types of ovens on their floor, and spent all the time it took with me to help answer my questions, and then finally, work out a price for this large and important purchase. Over the last 15 years and many appliance replacements (from what came with our older home), I have constantly found Trail to have the best selection, customer service, and pricing in the lower mainland. A few months after the purchase and installation of my new oven, there was a problem with a special roll-out rack and the sales rep that I dealt with went out of her way to assist me in obtaining a replacement part, even to the extent of giving me the local manufacturer rep's number so I could talk directly to that person.

Front loader washing machine ...water on floor panic ville...Apparently according to repair person I was using a bit too much soap and it was overloading machine or something like that. When I used less soap problem solved.
