We hired Able Drain to clear our clogged underground drainage pipe. They arrived with their snake machine, fed it into the line for about 30 minutes and pronounced us cured... sounded great.
The line is 100% useless 2 months later and I'm not sure that they ever cleared it.
I have called several other companies since and have learned that normal practice is to use a mobile camera to confirm that the blockage has been removed. This was not even offered by Able Drain. Nor did they flush the drain afterwards which is also, apparently, industry standard.
When I called and explained that our blockage is still there they did not apologize. They asked me questions about the blockage that I couldn't answer because their employee did not give me any feedback on our problem, and they would offer no discount on clearing the blockage properly. New charges would be required for them to come back out and do the job properly...
It was my first time learning about how a drainage problem like this should be solved, and this is not it. I hope I save someone else from the wasted money and time.
Update:
Blair called me to follow up and ask how much they charged us when them came out the first time. He re-offered one hour of credit that would have covered them coming out again to do more work. When I told him that I had already hired someone else for the rest of the job he told me to **** off and hung up on me.
Unbelievable attitude in this day and age when you can't hide from your reputation.
