We had an issue several weeks later and the solution was to spend more money when it was under warranty.

JS installed a water softener and an iron filter for us three years ago. Water softener broke down a few weeks ago, and they said it wasn't under warranty and they don't service either piece of equipment. No issue with the installation, but just a word of warning if using them.

Due to the sewer back up in my basement, I decided to hire JS Home Services as they are affiliated with the Town and have great reviews.

Ryan showed me what was needed and kept me updated every step of the way. The work lasted a week and during that time I was impressed with the workmanship and professionalism shown.

The work crew went above and beyond and I appreciate their help during such a stressful time. Thanks guys.

This company provides poor service.
They are registered as the Kinetico Water Expert near me on the Kinetico website.
I called 2 weeks ago and they confirmed to be able to service my kinetico equipment. In fact they told me they did work in my house (I bought it less than 1 year ago) and listed the services they did here in my home. This is great, right?
They said they will get their water technician to call me.
Long story short. They outsourced it to another company (who also claimed they are the outsource partners to JS Home Services), who immidiately called me.
They asked to pictures. Claimed to know exactly what was wrong and said they would be at my house the coming Monday/Tuesday.
I called for an update on Tuesday and they said they will get back to me end of day.
Not only have they not done so, they did not answer my 3 texts sent and have left me hanging. I called JS Home Service 1.5 weeks later from the original date of calling and was told they no longer service my area.
Again, they are listed as the dealer/technician near me on the company site. They installed equipment in my home (their stickers are plastered in my basement).
I ended up calling another technician who walked me through exactly the issue I have. The equipment installed was a "band-aid" fix.
This is the reason why they are no longer picking up my call, no longer responding to my texts and claim they no longer service me.
The work they done a year ago is now costing me $6000 in damages, replacement and getting it corrected.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Or question everything they do as you may run into more issues with a band-aid fix.

Poor service and what a bad way to treat customers with failing equipment.

J & S Services dispatch was polite, professional and communicative. Issue had shutdown my ability to use my heating and I was anxious about getting it looked at. Mike arrived and quickly made me feel confident that he would be able to address the issue. 45 min later he was gone and I was good to go!

Moved into my home about 10 years ago and got J&S to change the furnaces, and water heaters and other gas, plumbing and electrical work - thousands of dollars in work. They were good back then and I would have sung their praises to anyone who would listen.

Recently, the ownership changed and now it's all about the money grab. No customer loyalty, poor customer service, shoddy workmanship, and much, much worse.

One of thee furnaces that they originally changed was giving us issues, so they came in and said we needed to change it. It was still under warranty. They replaced it with a "new" and "better" furnace at no cost. They also cut a huge hole in a duct because it "needed more air."

Despite asking for warranty info, they never produced it - their office manager said she was still learning how to get that paperwork together and would send it out soon. Time passed and I forgot to follow up. That was a few years ago.

Recently, had someone from another company come out to quote us on a new humidifier for the furnace and they told us that the replaced furnace was actually older than the one they took away and was out of warranty. They looked at the hold in the ductwork and said that should never have been done because it was drawing stale air from the ceiling cavity into the furnace, not air from the house.

Contacted J&S and all they would say was "we no longer do gas work" - yet 4 weeks earlier they had called me up to renew my "membership" which included gas work.

Stay clear from J&S services and find a reputable company.

It was -28 C outside and my furnace wasn't working.
He told me about the service charge just for coming to look.
Then he looked and told me the upfront cost was $333 but could be more depending on parts.
I signed the paper, It was too cold that February to argue.
I went upstairs and in about 5 minutes the furnace was working.
I went down and asked what he had done but was told it was too complicated and that I should vacuum out the chimney. He told me the cost was a total of $466.09. I was happy to have heat and assumed what he charged me must be fair.
A few years later I vacuumed the chimney and 3 days later the furnace stopped working again.
This time a workman showed me how to take a paperclip and clear the obstruction in the nipple that a plastic hose sits on. Not complicated at all.
In fact I figured this young man not only overcharged me, and tried to sell me their annual $200 maintenance package; but set it up to fail again when I cleaned the top chimney.

We had a problem with a clogged kitchen drain and we are very satisfied with the service JS Home Services provided. Mike was very knowledgeable, polite and professional. He took the time to explain the work to us and was able to fix the problem quickly. We strongly recommend this company.

We had a leaking toilet with a broken mounting flange. We wanted the toilet replaced. Mike from JS home services got us the new toilet, repaired the flange and installed the new toilet. He also disposed of our old toilet. Very professional, very friendly, very informative. Not the cheapest, but certainly top quality work. We are very pleased.
