Windows By Installer

I really liked working with Windows by Installer. The installers were great. There is one small task left, but it's hardly noticeable. The two windows will be replaced once they come in. The project went very well from start to finish. I noticed the temperature difference right away. They even mailed me the paper work to receive my tax credit. They were very familiar with the proper codes and procedures in the area. I was very impressed with their services overall.

This company always does a good job fixing our windows. We have a 20 year home and some of the window pieces have started to deteriorate or the seal has begun to let in moisture, so need periodic repairs and/or replacements. I can't remember the serviceman's name, but he doesn't over-quote, doesn't over-price, and he always tells you when you could save money by doing something a little different or just taking care of the immediate problem (rather than trying to up-sell us with something not really needed to fix the problem). Would highly recommend their services; seems less expensive than another company that was used as part of an insurance claim repair and another that was part of a contractor's repair work. We don't usually spend more than $100 on repairs to several windows at one time for the various parts, pieces, replacements, visits and repair work.

I had a double hung window that wouldn't stay up, and others that just didn't work right. The windows were made and installed by companies that are no longer in business, so I had great difficulty finding someone to fix/adjust them. I first called the "home maintenance" branch of a local window company... who gave me an estimate of $1,100.00 (yes... that's eleven hundred dollars)!! So... I thought maybe I could purchase/install the balancers and adjust the windows myself. During my search for balancers, the window department at Home Hardware suggested I call Windows By Installer... which I obviously did. My experience with them was thumbs-up from the start. Steve set up an appointment for Alex to come to the house and provide a FREE estimate. Alex came to the house, checked ALL of the windows (not just those with which I had issues), and gave me an estimate of $190.00... $910.00 LESS THAN the other estimate... for the same work!! I called the Windows by Installer office later that day and made an appointment to have the work done the following week... on Thursday at 3:00 PM. Steve called me on the morning of the appointment and said they could come that morning (instead of 3:00) if I was at home. The repairman was there at 10:00 AM. I didn't catch his name, but my experience with him mirrored my experiences with the rest of their people. He was prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable (he said he had worked for the company for 11 years). He replaced the balancers and adjusted the first window, checked and adjusted the other 3 windows, and asked if there were any other windows I wanted him to check... so he checked and adjusted 2 others. Total time was less than an hour. I can't say enough positive things about Windows by Installer. Their customer service is superb. I wish all companies did business like them.

Three heavily weather-damaged 2rd floor transom windows were allowing water/weather to enter the house and required replacing. WBI owner patiently and thoroughly walked us through the options available to us, clearly articulating the process from initial assessment and measurement through installation and follow up. WBI asked us to inspect the windows they delivered prior to installation to confirm that they met our specifications, which they did. The removal of the damaged windows and installation of the new windows and sill went very smoothly. At the end of the job, there was no mess left for us to clean, wipe or vacuum. It was as if no work had been done and the new windows and sills simply materialized out of thin air. Upon completion, WBI offered to paint the new sills free of charge.
Excellent experience. Excellent product.

Alex came out for an estimate and didn't push for a sale. He seemed very knowledgeable about our situation and the windows he had. He understood our budget as well. When we decided to go with them, he came out again to be sure about the measurements. About a month later, the window had been shipped and the installation was scheduled rather quickly. They said installation would be quick and it was, probably about an hour. Installation included getting rid of the old window. Near the end, he came back out to look at the window and everything looked good. They cleaned everything up and we are happy with our window.

We had used Windows By Installer in the past based upon recommendations from our handyman. They replaced a foggy double pane section in one of our sliding glass doors. They scheduled and came out to confirm all measurements prior to the actual work. After the needed glass arrived, they scheduled the work date and arrived on time. They were very careful not to cause any damage around the area of the door, hauled away the old material, cleaned up all debris and reviewed the completed work to assure satisfaction. I was very impressed with the quality of the product they provided.

Working with contractors generally causes me much stress and anxiety due to previous experiences. My experience with Windows by installer, however, was a positive one. Alex, actually cares about his customers and the work he does. His window installers were clearly experienced and knew how to deal with those little surprises that inevitably occur with home improvements. They were efficient, clean and respectful of all my questions and concerns. They also took time to educate me on aspects of home construction. Alex's installers also place a priority on fixing issues correctly, rather than simply covering up problems. I would recommend Windows by installer to others without hesitation.

We were of need of four energy efficient windows for our house. The first company we chose to contact was Windows by installer. The owner, Alex, came promptly for evaluation. We explained what we wanted and he offered us his options. He went straight to the point which we appreciated a lot since "time is money", and he gave us a great price. These were the reasons why we chose his company above the others. He came himself to measure the windows and roughly after three weeks (even sooner than it was expected) Mike, Alex’s employee, started his job exactly at 9:00 just as was arranged before. Mike minded his job, did not talk (even refused a nice cup of coffee we offered him). He was very precise, clean and professional. When he was done, there was nothing left behind. The only proof that he was there were our beautiful brand new triple windows.

Our house is 35 years old, with original windows. The
windows on the west side take the full force of the weather, and thus were in
need of replacements. We wanted maintenance free windows with a new grille
design. We decided to visit Windows by Installers and
found the visit very pleasant. The store had ample examples, and the staff was
very friendly and helpful. No hard sell.
After review of the literature, and more thought, we decide
to have a window and door specialist out. He took measurements and explained
every aspect of the replacement from ordering through installation. Afterwards
we felt Window City windows were the right fit for us and we placed the order.
The windows arrived sooner than anticipated and were quickly
scheduled for installation. The installation crew was very professional,
knowledgeable about their craft, and considerate of our property and the final
appearance. They were on time for the installation and easily finished within
the time given by the window and door specialist. After installation they
performed a walk-through review to make sure everything was to our satisfaction
and we understood the operation and care of the windows. This was followed by a
visit by the sales manager (Alex) to make sure everything was to our satisfaction.
The bottom line is that we had a very good experience, and
think the windows are great, including being very nice looking.
You may pay a little more for Window City than other windows on
the market, but for a quality window and being hassle free from beginning to
end it is well worth it.
I give Windows By Installer an A+, and recommend to anyone looking for a hassle free window replacement with a quality product.

The owner of Windows by Installer returned my initial call right away and set a date to evaluate the repairs needed and make an estimate. He showed up on time and did a thorough inspection of the 6 windows. He said one of the windows was fine, but the other 5 needed to have the weights replaced and the weights should be heavier to hold up the triple-pane windows. The company owner ordered the parts and returned in about 10 days to install the weights and make a few other minor repairs. The result was having windows that functioned well again, all for $450. Quite a satisfactory outcome with great service for a modest price.
