Windows By Installer

Steve from Windowsbyinstaller came to my home to give me a free estimate on 2 windows to be replaced. He was extremely professional asking to take his shoes off first inside the home. I had been told by another window company these needed replacement. He took time to look at the windows both from the inside and from the outside of my home and told me that what I needed was wood repaired not the windows replaced. . He then called the office to get the number and name of the reputable wood repair shop he knew and recommended. He was not trying to make a sale but was very honest. I would absolutely call this company again as their honesty is invaluable.

The salesman for Windows by Installer was the first salesman I had seen. He was so sure that I would choose his, he stated "No matter how much you like our windows, I don't want you to decide or buy today. I want you to look at some of the others and compare. Then when you know that we have the best, call me". He was knowledgeable, both product-wise and technically; and instead of telling me why he couldn't do something, he told me he could find a way to get it done. He said he could get the small custom windows in the kitchen made for me by a third-party manufacturer, and he did. He said they could make my bay window, even if it was oversized, and they did. There was no extra charge for the grids or the custom window size for any of the windows. He returned my calls promptly, and kept me in the loop at all times.

Work was scheduled for October 2013, they called and told us the windows were ready 3 weeks after order was placed, not the 6 weeks we were originally told. Workers were very professional. Work was done in one day although we were told it would take 2 days to finish the work. Workers left the house and property in very good shape, we couldn't even tell they had been there (except for the new windows). The price was very reasonable considering half of the windows installed were wood. Very happy with our choice of going with Windows by installer.

Our home was built in 1993. Needless to say it was time for our windows and front door to be updated. The original windows and door were allowing immense amounts of heat in and cool air out and I can only imagine what it was like in the winter months. We saw an ad in the newspaper for windows by installer. Since money was tight we decided that this was a viable option since at that time they were buy one get one free. We called Alex and set-up an appointment. He came to our home within 3 days. Upon arrival we went around our home voicing our concerns, as well as Alex sharing what he felt were issues. What is great about him is that he never pushes the envelope. He is honest, listens, and then reacts. After we went around our home realized how much air conditioning was escaping we knew this was the company to fix the issue. Alex brought several different windows to view. He was knowledgeable of the products and allowed us to ask many questions. We decided to go with an excaliber window (double hung) product that has the security locks on them for theft protection. We decided to replace 14 windows, but what great is that we got the windows for the price of 7! Ed listened and did not pressure us to get a more expensive window. He accepted our decision, which was great. At the same time our front door was in very rough shape. It was not sitting in the casing correctly allowing for light and air to come in our home pretty regularly. We tried to "fix" the issue ourselves, but in the end proved to be more of a pain than a solution. This was a great way to have both quality and affordability. Thank you Alex for your work and effort, we are very happy with the look and feel of our new windows.

The installers installed the doors, and all went well. They offered to add a vinyl cover for the base wood plate under the step, which saved me from having to repaint it. It was beginning to rot anyway. They were professional and courteous, and did a good job. The only thing was they didn't caulk the trim around the inside front door. They came out after the quality inspection and completed the caulking as requested. The doors are good quality. The wait time from order placement to installation was 5 weeks. The quality inspection occurred 2 weeks after installation. All-in-all, the results are top quality. If you want a quality product make sure to call Windows by Installer.

This project went very smoothly from beginning to end. Alex was very pleasant to deal with and did a lot of extra things he didn't have to. (Example: he went and bought matching paint for a trim piece. Also caulked a floor near the window that was left unfinished. One day he came over and put weather stripping in a door that needed it).
All the workers were very polite and professional. They cleaned everything up and even swept out my garage when they were done. I am very happy with the quality and overall look of the windows. I highly recommend Windows by Installer.

P.S. Since the job in our house Alex has also installed windows for my close friend who lives 20 min away. He is just as happy as I am, and is very thankful that I had recommend Windows by Installer to him.

Contacted Windows and Installer in August. Alex came out and gave us an estimate for replacing 10 windows that had seals failing We were so impressed by the windows he showed us, that we accepted the proposal and gave him the go ahead. We were told about 6-8 weeks and it was right on schedule.
The install date had to be switched due to bad weather. I appreciated the fact that they didn't want to install with the threat of rain. It was a beautiful sunny day when Ken and his crew came to install. The entire team was professional and efficient. Arrived 10 minutes before scheduled time, put down drop cloths to protect carpet and when finished removed trash, and vacuumed. Some of the windows were a challenge due to what the builder had done, but Oleg and the team rose to the challenge and did a great job installing our beautiful new windows!
The windows exceeded our expectations! The rooms they are in are so much quieter (don't hear neighbors cutting grass, etc.), the heater isn't working as hard because of the insulation in the windows. Sunshine in, cold out! Can only imagine how wonderful they are going to be when summer weather is blasting us! The ease to operate and clean is fantastic and they look beautiful too!
When it's time to replace the remaining windows in our home, we are calling Windows and Installer again! Excellent experience!

I had metal windows in a 1974 bungalow, that were long overdue to be changed. WBI did a fantastic job of figuring out how to remove these windows, no easy job, and replacing them with Window City windows. It was all done in approx. 4 hours, by 4 men. They did a great job of cleaning up and making sure that everything was in working order. They were very pleasant to work with and honest about where their price point would come in. ( Right in the middle of my quotes) I would definitely use Steve and Oleg again, when ever I might need them in the future.

It was a pleasure working with the owner, Alex, and the window installer was Oleg and Steve. We looked up Windows by Installer online and read reviews of his previous work. We schedule time to meet with him as well as with other contractors for the services of installing new windows. It took several months to work through the details, ordering the windows, and scheduling the install. The negotiations with Alex went very well, his prices were very competitive and he did a great job of staying in touch and letting me know any updates on the project and the schedule. He talked us through our options, gave a full demonstration of differences between types of windows and material. We scheduled to have Alex install glass block window in our garage, windows throughout our house, and replace old gutters in the front of our house and clean our gutters in the back of the house. He came to the job site to check on the work. I was able to be at the house for two of the jobs. The glass block installation and some of the windows installation. For both jobs, Alex stopped by to check on the work and answer any questions we had about the jobs. Both jobs went smoothly and we were satisfied with the work. The gutter installation went well also. I was able to go over the work with Alex once the job was complete to ask any questions I had. Where there were some minor issues with the glass block installation, he worked to make things right and make the work more presentable. Several people in the neighborhood and guests have commented on our windows and we have been very satisfied with them throughout last 6 months. We look forward to many years of using them and enjoying the scenario around us.

We had 8 windows replaced in our home. The windows were old and some were unusable due to the previous owners caulking them shut. There were 2 gentlemen that came in and did the job. They were very skilled and did a great job of cleaning as they went and making sure we knew what they were doing. We are very happy with the experience. One thing that this company does that I am really happy with is having someone else from the company to check the install and make sure that all the windows are working properly. I think that they offer a great product and that the fact that it is manufactured right here in Toronto makes it even better.
