Absolutely TERRIBLE!!!! Completely dishonest, unreliable and a terrible experience I would not wish on anyone doing a renovation.
I hired Kozmus Inc. to cut and install my kitchen and bathroom counter top. The day the counter top was going to be installed, their office called me to notify me that one of their guys dropped a large piece of the counter top when it was being loaded into the truck and the piece broke in half. Although they invited me in right away to chose a new slab for that part of my kitchen, this is when the dishonesty started. While at their office I chose a new piece which closely resembled my old one and the rest of the kitchen counter top pieces. We then templated the new piece and with it I asked that they cut a new side piece for me as well since the vains did not match to the old side piece. They then templated a side piece which they promised to install. I was away for the day of the installation only to receive a phone call from one of my trades who noticed that the new counter top did not match the old side piece at all. I then called a left a message for the owner asking them to return and replace the side piece which we templated. I was told that the owner left on a trip to Italy and would not be back for three weeks. My husband and I then decided to accept the veins not matching on that side and to go ahead with the rest of the work with no further delay. When the owner returned we then asked him for a discount on what we owed which was another 60% of the total. He came over to have a look and told us that he would replace the side piece instead of a discount. We asked him to sign a letter stating that in the process of replacing that piece of the counter top, if there was any damage to the backsplash, cabinetry or appliaces that he would be responsible for fixing or replacing this. He then refused to sign anything and got very upset and threatened to sue us if we didn't pay him the full amount owing which he had no right to have. He stormed out of our home after being very disrespectful to my husband and I. We then had our lawyer draw up a letter which we sent to him offering a resolution. He once again refused to sign any promise letters and told us that if we didn't pay he would take us to small claims court. We were advised by our lawyer that given our story he would most likely lose his case, but we decided not to take the risk of damaging anything in replacing the counter top, or going through court to get what we had the right to. We decided to offer to pay him half to get him out of our lives. Our experience with this company was horrible. I would NOT advise anyone on hiring them ever!
