Called on Thursday night. Offered appointment next day. I opted for a Saturday appointment. Arrived between the time stated. Nice man who did the work. I felt comfortable having him in my home.

Prompt, professional and quite possibly the best appliance repair experience I have encountered. Competent and helpful with advice-the technician was able to diagnose and correct the problem with my refrigerator. Highly recommended!

TERRIBLE - DO NOT USE THEM.

charged my 280+ for 1.5 hours work.

So I call back after 5 days asking for status and they say I need to pay another 400+ for the part. I say no, and that I want a refund of unused services on the 280 paid earlier.
Guess what the response was :( :(

Mike came in to check why our refrigerator freezer drawer was not sealing when the drawer closed. He was quick, efficient, make the assessment, and fixed the drawer. I do not have to replace the refrigerator drawer, which was my fear.

Man from company came to my house said he could fix the machine for around $285+tax. Told him to proceed. He worked for a few minutes then said I needed to order a part and left. Still charged me the full repair cost. Paid him $90 for the "diagnosis" but I refused to pay the rest since he had done almost nothing. They sent a collection agency after me. Had to pay the full $300 even though they did almost NOTHING - my washer is still broken. Read other Homestar reviews carefully! Check Better Business Bureau website as well. DO NOT use this company.

The dishwasher was not draining. So we called this company, they said they would give a free estimate. They showed up and started working, an hour later he said it will cost us $265.00 plus tax. The problem is the pump. He said the reason the pump wasn't working is because it wasn't install properly, but it was and the person who installed followed the manufactuer's instructions. He then said that it will work now, but make sure you put the hose up high and cut it. So we did this, you can't cut the hose because the fittings will not go around it, so we had to buy a new hose. Now the dishwasher is worse off then it was before, when we turn on the dishwasher it makes a terrible noise. It will only go from 99 to 96 and back to 99, this never happened before. I have contacted the company in different emails about this. One email they said that if you install it properly then it will work. When I told them, we did what you told us to and it still has the same problem. They said that will have to now replace the pump. But they told us that when they left the dishwasher was working. So now they want even more money. They never even gave us esitmate, they overcharged and didn't do anything to fix it, and want us to spend more money. I could have went and bought a new dishwasher.

I contacted Service 4 Appliances to repair a refrigerator in my tenant's apartment. I was told over the phone that the service call would cost $80, which I agreed to. When the technician arrived the next day, he assured me that he could repair the refrigerator and no parts were required. The cost of the repair was $330. Before agreeing to the repair, I asked the technician if it made sense to spend this money and repair the refrigerator. He said that the refrigerator was in good working order and once he was done it would function successfully. I also asked him if there was a warranty included with his service and he did say that there was a service warranty included. I went ahead with the repair. The technician was onsite for 30 minutes to complete the repair. I was a little surprised by the short amount of time he was there given the high cost of the service, but went ahead thinking this was a reputable company and he would do the job well. The next day my tenant contacted me to let me know that the refrigerator was not working. I contacted the company to ask them to come over to re-service the refrigerator. They did not come back over and instead told me via email that I would need a part that would cost over $650 in order for the refrigerator to function again. I was really surprised by this. The technician did not explain that his repair may not work and if it didn't that I'd be required to spend almost $1,000 to complete the full repair of a midsized refrigerator. Had I known this, then I would've not gone ahead with the service repair. The company claimed that this was explained to me, however myself and my tenant agree that the technician did not make any of this clear and again assured that he could solve the issue. I would never recommend using this company to anyone as they are overpriced and do not offer an honest service.

I am extremely disapointed in the way this company has dealt with the issue of my broken dryer. First I was quoted the "magical" $280 to which I originally agreed as according to the tech it would fix the problem with my dryer. 15 minutes later I get a call indicating that a very expensive part is required to complete the fix. I told him to leave it alone and he proceeded to charge me the full $280 despite not performing the service. When I called into Customer Service to complain I was met with a very emphatic "...it is what it is" and I had no recourse. All in all the tech was in and out in less than an hour. Not sure how they justify the repair costs when they don't complete the work. Any other tech's I have dealt with in the past when told to stop the work I was only charged for what they did and not for what they failed to do! NEVER AGAIN!
