Reliable And Solid Roofing Inc. No Longer In Business

I couldn't agree more with the comments made by C&J in Mississauga. This company is also known as Reliable & Solid Roofing Inc. They replaced the shingles on my house on November 23, 2011, we ordered architectural Life Time shingles, roof guard installed over the entire roof and drip edge. Same comments as C&J, they were rushing to finish in the dark instead of coming back to finish in day light. I am finding shingles coming off the house all over the ground and on the roof, my roof vents are all uneven, and the flashing on the chimney doesn't even go down to the roof, it sits about a inch above the shingles, what good is that? They were also suppose to repair a hole in the roof where a raccoon had got in, now I am wondering if they just covered it up with the new shingles instead of replacing the wood. I can not get Derek to call me back, he disconnects my calls when he sees my number or your call is forwarded to a voice mail which is full and you cannot leave messages. I did manage to get hold of his brother and he told me to send him a text message and said he would have Derek call me back, he never did. I called his brother again from another number and again mentioned my problem and that I talked to him the other day already, and he denied ever talking to me before, again he said he would get back to me, but I am still waiting. Their emails are returned undeliverable. I contacted the BBB which they are members, and all they did was send them an email and told me that the email was returned undeliverable and the complaint was closed. Don't trust a company because they belong to the BBB, the BBB is useless. Even when Derek came to do the estimate, he made me dig my ladder out of the garage instead of using the one on his truck, then asked to use my washroom before completing the estimate, quite possibly to determine what the inside of my house looked like so he could see what I could afford to pay. These were all hints to me not to use these guys, but they came highly recommended by my sister who used them as well as several other people on her street, so I went with them. DO NOT USE this company, you will be sorry if you have any problems, even though their contract says "ALL WORKMANSHIP IS COVERED WITH 10 YEARS WARRANTY" good luck getting them to fulfil that guarantee without taking them to court, which I may find myself doing. It is true, Derek seems real nice when you meet him, but he will not respond to issues.

UNRELIABLE AND UNRESPONSIVE ROOFING- THAT'S WHAT THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE CALLED!
I recently engaged this company to replace my roof. I should have known something was not right when I found the crew racing to complete the work on my roof at 9:30pm well after sundown- literally in the dark. But the real issue is Derek's lack of customer service skills and accountability when confronted by the customer with an workmanship issue. A case in point- In my style of home, there is an area where shingles meet the soffitt area over the porch, so care has to be taken to make sure the soffitt is not damaged. This, by the way. is the area the crew was working on at night. Derek's crew damaged my soffitt when they tried to tuck the new shingles underneath it, thus creating an opening for a raccoon to enter. After I had invited Derek to view the damage, he denied any responsibility. His reply was- "We don't touch soffitt. It's not our fault." He repeated this mantra even though it was clear to see that 6" of new shingles were clearly tucked in beyond the soffitt line. This damage created an opening for a raccoon to enter and cause an even larger opening in the soffitt. As a result, I had to call in an animal control expert to extract the animal at a cost of $330.. On top that, I also mentioned to Derek that there are a few shingles that seem to be lifting, but once again, he denied everything.

Please be aware- Derek is very nice UNTIL he has your business, then GOOD LUCK trying to get him to come back and act in a responsible manner.

If this review saves even one homeowner the hassle I have had to go through then it will be well worth it.

Darek came right away and fixed the leaking roof problem because of a loose vent. He was very polite and prompt, I have recommended this company to others in my neighbourhood.
