We, too, had a disappointing experience in choosing WFA this spring. They came so highly recommended. Admittedly, in initial estimate and meetings, Vaughan presented very upfront, professional, and responsive. Within a few months this began to wane. I suspect taking on too many jobs at a time,thus losing quality control. Our three month project extended to 6 months. Though,in end, project presents professional quality, we were forced to strongly advocate and argue repeatedly for ourselves to point out mistakes,and ensure were corrected. This took so much time and energy,left us asking why we had hired this team over others we equally considered. Issues: disconnect between design/ build aspects, hiring an incompetent tradesperson,and mistakes by other contractors which should never occur, communication gaps. Specific disappointments include our bathroom design with shower/bath under bulkhead, and lack of room for vanity, carpet laid a over a foot short over 25 plus linear space, left over toxic lacquer spilled into a hole in our yard, and in back alley, grout poured down our basement drain causing overflow. We felt comfortable,and safe with everyone within our home.Final product now presents well.Spending $95,000 was a big expenditure for us, and we expected better treatment, professionalism, and more 'wow' factor in final basement product. Hire WFA if you have a strong voice, and can attend diligently daily to catch errors/oversights. Positive mention: In only final few weeks, a very skilled and detailed project manager (Jorge?), joined our project.He impressed us, in his detail and commitment, to help redeem some prior experiences. With greater attention to these issues, and insisting only experienced trades on site, I am sure can do better.

The guys from Wallace Fleming were good to work with. They were respectful of our home. They demonstrated commitment to quality and workmanship. However there were numerous issues that arose that would make it impossible for us to recommend their company. Issues such as hiring an unskilled tradesman, providing inadequate job site supervision, having inadequate relationships with suppliers and consistently poor communication with us. All of these issues resulted in a renovation that seemed to never end. The guaranteed 3 month timeline turned into 12 months.

I was really happy with the suggestions and the outcome of our basement renovation. They turned a dark, cold, creepy basement in a bright playroom/entertainment room and guest room. Their suggestions were very helpful and they completed the project within the budget. All the contractors were courteous and respectful to the rest of the house. Vaughan was very professional and upfront about the costs and were able to work within my budget. They went the extra mile with the finishing touches. I am really happy with the work and would highly recommend them.

Vaughan and his staff were great. Came up with suggestions and ideas for our projects. They finished our basement, found and FIXED problems other contractors had recently finished, and went the extra mile for permits, paperwork etc while we were out of town. Highly recommend them.

My wife and I decided to develop our basement as we had a second child on the way and we needed the additional space. With the recommendation of a family member, I invited Vaughan over to the house to provide an estimate for the basement development. From the beginning, Vaughan was professional and courteous and took the time to explain the intricacies of the process. Vaughan did not come with a salesman approach but was solution oriented and provided suggestions on how to best develop the space. At execution time, Dave was the construction manager and was responsive to my phone calls and questions. He was knowledgeable with the course of construction and did his best to limit the inconveniences involved with the construction project. Although we did have some hiccups along the way with delivery of material, Wallace and Fleming kept us in the loop with info updates. Overall,I was happy with the quality of work the W&F provided.

We had a large reno completed. Attention to detail was paramount. Trades were very friendly and we were comfortable inviting into our home with 2 small children. We had some miscommunications which were the root cause of delays. We are very happy with the work completed but think there's room for improvement.

I would like to start out by saying that you in doing your research contractors, and you will be rewarded by finding the name Wallace and Fleming. From start to finish these guys are the real deal. When we started our basement renovation with Vaughan, he goes through the entire contract with you outlining what his company is responsible for and what you will be responsible for. Each time me or my wife had to call Vaughan, he would get back to us right away and listen to our concerns. His company gets a quality job done, on time, and within budget. We are very pleased with our new basement.

Great company. They have excellent communication and are very upfront. They keep their word and don't nickel and dime you as the process goes along. Real people who treat you as a real person! They work hard for their client and listen. I recommend them!

Wallace Fleming & Associates did a top notch job on our basement reno. It is now our favourite room in the house! Vaughan was great to work with - we received regular up-dates on who, what, when and he was always available to answer questions and suggest solutions. We contracted Wallace Fleming&Associates to conduct a renovation of our basement and we were extremely impressed with Vaughan,Brent and the whole crew throughout the entire project!
This project was completed exactly as we hoped - within budget, within scope and was finished even earlier than they originally said .
Vaughan, Brent and all crew were friendly, tidy and efficient, a real pleasure to have around. We love our basement,Our basement is better than we imagined and we are so excited to use our new space, and spend many hours there.
