YR Pools and Construction

We used YR Pool to install a fiberglass pool in our backyard. We contacted Elliott and he set up an appointment to meet the following week. We gave our vision to Elliott of what we wanted our pool to look like and he and his staff created exactly what we wanted. Elliott and his team worked tirelessly on our pool to ensure it was installed properly. Unfortunately, we ordered our pool as Covid hit, but, as soon as restrictions were lifted the installation process began and we love our pool. I would recommend Elliott and YR Pools to anyone looking to install a pool. Elliott, thank you again for bringing our vision to life! Book them now, you won't be disappointed.

We were looking to build pool at our backyard for two years and I called all local companies in KW , Cambridge, Guelph.....
They sent their representatives to meet with me and after they see that our backyard is not really big and that distances between houses is I believe less than 10 feet and as we have walkout basement and concrete stairs on side all of them told me that is not possible to build
My wife was so unhappy and I keep calling Toronto area until I contact YR Pools ,they said yes we will come to take a look.
In few days I met with Eliot and he said no problem we will do it next year ( it was the end of summer) and they were finishing other projects
After 1 st meeting everything went smooth and professional. We applied for permit, put down deposit and waited for May to come
When they started I was thinking that will be a lot of dirt and mess around the house and my wife noticed that when they're done for the day they clean around the house.
In less than a 3 weeks we have our pool and landscaping done.
YR employees has been visited us few times after that work was done and gave us instructions how to maintain pool.
No charge for those visits as well no charge when we had technician to check that is no leak at the pump .
What impressed me is communicating before we start when they build pool and after job was done

Huge thanks to YR Pools and construction for their super quick service today. I contacted Elliot early in the morning requesting a new pool pump as mine broke last night! Not only did they have a brand new Hayward installed by 1 pm the same day, but their prices including installation was about $400 cheaper than others. Elliot was extremely punctual and professional; he answered all my questions and provided sound recommendations. I highly recommend their services!

I originally wanted to post pictures right away but I figured that waiting a full year to write a review might be more meaningful.

To start Ive learned pools arent easy. Even worse with the pandemic. We were very ready for many of the supply chain issues that hit us during our pool construction which occurred during the multitude of lockdowns. While much of it was not the fault of YRP, Will, Sean, and Elliot were very communicative to set expectations, and re-set where necessary.

THE PLANNING: We went with a pool design of our own. We did not want a pool that filled our backyard as we also install an ice rink in the winter. The team was quick to accommodate and gave several fibreglass options that really helped us to nail the look we needed. I had also done a lot of research myself and again, the YRP team was there to give me the appropriate level of detail to make the correct decisions.

Things to consider:
- If possible, consider lighting. Its just so important to the look and if you try to do it after, its going to look very un-integrated. The lighting specifically for us was retaining wall lights as well as well as lamps around key walking areas. The hanging lights on the fence were an afterthought that we very much enjoy.
- We added a water feature which we love. At full blast, its a bit loud, but its water.
- Go with not-so-white stone if you can. Lighter stone does appear to wear a bit more due to mother nature.
- Dont try and cheap out on the equipment. Oversize your heater if you can and get a robot!!!

THE EXECUTION: The YRP team were onsite almost every day as promised. Tesu and his team were working almost non-stop and were always clear about when they were coming and going. Workers never appeared to be slacking off and were very respectful to us and our neighbours.

Noteworthy items:
- I will admit, its a bit scary when a huge pool is hanging with a crane over your house. No homes were damaged during construction
- YRP used a series of French drains which have done a good job of ensuring that water doesnt pool. The retaining walls are also moving water properly.
- Electrical and gas work are very well done. Nothing appears to be messy and is very well hidden.
- Pool school team is very patient and accommodating to our questions and concerns.

THE NOW: A year later and we still love our pool. We added a small firepit that helps us to add the ambiance we wanted. Note: Our season did not start the way we wanted to as there was some issues with our heater, which YRP had repaired after it was reported (in just 3 business days).

Additional Perspectives:
- Really take the time to review opening/closing costs of the pool. (They did catch us off guard)
- Make sure you order your winter cover EARLY.
- Good patio furniture is expensive but worth it.
- Make sure you know the zones around your property (We required a variance application which set us behind 1 month).
- Measure your gas appliance utilization. We had to call Enbridge for a larger gas pipe (no charge)

Overall I cannot say enough good things about the YRP team of Elliot, Will, Sean, and Tesu. I would highly recommend them for any pool work as their experience and advice really helped to get the project done quickly and with a high degree of quality.

During the installation of our Dolphin Fiberglass pool, we identified bulging and warping of the pool walls and while the original dealer did not want to correct the issue and expressed this was “acceptable”, we contacted Dolphin Fiberglass pools and they put us in touch with Elliot and his team at YR Pools. It took Elliot’s trained eye only a few seconds from 50 feet away to see the problem and after some discussions with the dealer, Elliot was able to ensure they fixed their poor installation. Elliott’s team supervised the re-installation process and rectified the issue. We are truly grateful to the Elliott and Dolphin Fiberglass pools for maintaining high quality standards and standing by their product. We now feel confident we will enjoy our fiberglass pool for many years.

This review is long overdue. We first met Elliot back in 2019 to help us fix our backyard grading, water pooling issues, and maybe get a pool. We finally decided in April 2020 to only get a retaining wall, but then COVID hit. So we pulled the trigger and luckily enough, Elliot had a fiberglass kidney pool available that was perfect for our yard.

The whole experience from start to finish was pretty amazing. Elliot's customer service and attention was outstanding. Anytime we had a question or concern he would personally talk to us and take his time, we never felt rushed or a bother. Even when we discovered a leak (these things happen) and had a third party leak detection company fix it, Elliot covered the cost.

We can't thank Elliot and his crew (thanks, Tim!) enough for an amazing backyard transformation, all our friends and family love it too! It is our personal Oasis.

YR Pools exceeded our expectations. We were completely thrilled with the whole experience. We’ve worked with many contractors and we can honestly say they are the best of the best. And the final result is magnificent. Our friends and family are in awe of this incredible Oasis in our backyard. Elliot, Sean, and each member of the various crews were a pleasure to work with. I have found Yrpool from Pinterest website and when I talked to Elliot regarding the problems in my backyard such as the narrow pathway between the houses, backyard elevation and many more, he found the solutions for all the problems.
He is very knowledgeable and expert in his job and has great crews to work with them. Knows a lot of people in any areas that we asked. He helped us to choose the landscaping materials, came with us to the side and purchased them all before we hit the shortage. We only dealt with him and he arranged different contractors for landscaping, jacuzzi, electricians, plumbers, …. He even showed us many places to choose our furniture, BBQ, Fire-pit and many many more. I have referred him to my friends and families and they are all happy,

His designer created a 3D design for us and he created exactly as I was show I was shown in the picture. We signed a contract in June 2020, he started in November and it was completed by May 2021.
