After getting estimates from a number of highly reviewed roofing companies, I opted for Millwall Roofing simply because they offered the best competitive price for the roof as well as having the ability to deal with our leaky chimney and aging gutters as well.

For a while it was between them and another company, but, as soon as we told Darrell that his initial estimate was a bit higher then his potential competition, he quickly matched the price and negotiated from there any additions (chimney, gutters, etc) we had.

The crew that came were friendly enough, and surprisingly quiet - they weren't blasting music or having loud conversations. They also cleaned up after themselves and were very polite. The entire roof with plywood installation + tearing down our chimney to the roofline took 1.5 days. The gutters another 1/2 a day a few days later.

The criticisms we had were:

1) Chimney bricks left a few pits on our lawn. - Darrell apologized and said in the future with others they would lay plywood down so the bricks don't do any damage.

2) There was leftover concrete/mess from the roofing in our gutters - they knew this was going to be replaced but it wasn't done until a few days later so on the first rainy (stormy) day afterwards, there was a back up and water pooled and poured off the edges. Darrell was surprised by this and said he'd make sure this wouldn't happen in the future.

Other then that, it was a good experience. I don't feel that I paid excessively but I also don't feel that I got an incredible deal. Having said that I would recommend the company to my friends/family. It was all fair and I'm happy with the work/experience.

Millwall did my roof last year and did a great job. They have competitive prices and were very pleasant to deal with. The roofers showed up on time and all the work was completed in a timely fashion. The only criticism was that they left behind some shingles in the garden. Otherwise a great job!

Darrell made a reasonably priced, detailed estimate of the material and work required to replace our old worn chimney. He kept me informed of the possible good weather dates to do the job and phoned the afternoon before to say that he would have his men arrive the next morning. They arrived by 8am and soon had the old masonry removed and new bricks mortared, new flashing and counter-flashing installed. The existing 150 pound concrete caps were cleaned up and put back on top which saved me some money.
The work was complete by noon and our new chimney looks great. I highly recommend this friendly, professional roofing contractor.

We contacted Darrell to get a quote when we noticed a leak in our upstairs ceiling. Our roof was quite old and due for replacing, but given the leak, we knew we needed it replaced quickly. Darrell came by within 30 min of our call and provided a quote later that same day. Millwall was within the range of the other two companies we received quotes from (all ranked 9.9 or 10/10 on HomeStars) but was able to start immediately, rather than within a couple weeks as was the case with the other companies. The work was started as soon as the weather permitted, continued diligently and the workers left our property tidy at the end of the job. We would happily recommend Darrell and his team.

We contacted Millwall on the basis of good reviews on this site. We needed a basic re-roofing job (asphalt/fiberglass shingles). Darrell gave us a very competitive price and didn't try to talk us into doing anything beyond what was necessary. The job was done quickly - 2 days with a rain day in between. Our neighbours agree the roof looks really good and the crew were a friendly group. We are very satisfied.

Our council hired Millwall Roofing to replace the asphalt roof on all seven, of our buildings. They started late September and competed the work late December. The crews, at times there were three, worked through some very harsh cold, windy and wet weather and were up to the challenge. They remained polite and cheerful throughout. Darrell MacDonald, the owner of Millwall Roofing, stayed in close touch and kept us up to date on the progress.

I had a good feeling about this company from the beginning. Darrell came to our home when I requested he give us a quote. I was pleasantly surprised at it, given the roof replacement was cedar shakes to asphalt shingles. It's a very large roof. Perhaps the most telling sign of the quality of the work to be done, was that he told us at the outset it would be at least a 3-4 day job. I had other roofers come in and tell me it could be done in a day. Darrell never tried to upsell us on anything. He gave us some options and happily agreed to install two new skylights as part of the job. There was never any pressure from Darrell to move forward with the project once the quote was given. In the end, the quote was the final price. As I said, we agreed to some upgrades which were offered, such as high-profile ridge caps and a 40-year roof instead of a 30-year roof, but they were minor increases and certainly there were no surprises with the final bill. I would happily recommend Millwall to anyone thinking about getting a new roof.

After receiving a quote from a large, well know company, we decided to get another quote to compare. We called Millwall Roofing because of the good reviews on this site. The scope of work they provided was the right one for our home. The job went smoothly, despite two layers with long, rusty nails. Through the rain, cold and wind, the crew worked hard and the job looks fantastic. Also satisfied with the clean up. I will be happy to recommend Millwall Roofing to my circle of friends. -John.

The chimney in our old house was leaking and in bad shape. Millwall was able to do the mortar and flashing work quickly and professionally. They even undercut their own cost estimate when they found the job took less time than they calculated. Darrell took the time to make sure I was a completely satisfied customer. I will definitely call them when we need a new roof.

Our roof sustained some damage from the windstorm that blew through Chilliwack last week. i called Darrell and he came out the next day to assess the damage and protect the exposed sections of our roof with a tarp. The next morning one of his guys came out and finished the repairs in a few hours. They were very professional, expedient and pleassnt to deal with.
