Custom built-in cabinets and mantel
Steven has been one of my favourite contractors to work with so far, he's extremely skilled and capable of designing and building anything that we could imagine, but also has a strong aesthetic sensibility to help us make subtle but difficult decisions.
We had Steven design and build custom built-ins around our fireplace mantel, and a new mantel too. Everything was assembled immaculately, not to mention the workspace was completely cleaned after -- so rare!
Steven was also extremely accommodating for changes and iteration. When we took apart our old mantel, we realized that we needed to rebuild the framing from scratch, and Steven consulted on how to best do that and worked with us to adjust the sizing of his mantel design to fit with the new framing that I put in. He kept his schedule flexible as we worked to prep our room for his install.
Overall amazing experience, genuinely looking around the house now trying to think of more projects that we could use Black Forest Woodworking for!
