After shopping around different builders we decided to proceed with building our new home with Homes By Avi. We were impressed with how much customizations we were allowed to the default floorplan. We moved the laundry upstairs to increase the size of the pantry, coat closet and kitchen countertop. They made these changes without any extra costs.

It was our first time building a new home and we definitely learned a lot. We appreciate all the help the Avi employees offered us. We would definitely recommend them to our friends and family.

Purchased my new home from AVI, love it, AVI has been great to deal with through every step of ownership And thier customer service team ensures warranty inspections are timely and effective. All thier staff have been fabulous.

We recently purchased a home with AVI in Auburn Bay. My experience with this build has been extremely disappointing and almost violating. I do not be recommend AVI to any one in the market for a new home. In addition to overall poor customer service, below are a few examples of what we dealt with during our home buying experience.

1) Parking Stall Issue. Not being very mobile, we requested a parking stall that was located closer to the elevator (so less walking). We met with the sales rep in October/November to find a more suitable parking stall – and we did so. We completed the paperwork, and the appropriate ‘change order’ form to make sure this was all ready to go. AVI did not submit the change order, and left us with the original stall which we only discovered upon signing the final papers with the lawyer. They did nothing to correct this for us - no accountability, no transparency.

2) Laundry Machines – when purchasing the home, we opted to take the credit for the washer/dryer unit as these were too small for us. We made arrangements to purchase our own. On our possession date, we noticed AVI had installed the washer/dryer, and we advised them we already had our own, and they could take their units back. They asked us to keep these, as it would mean less work for them to remove and restock them. I did not take them up on their offer initially, as I had already purchase my own, and may not have been eligible for a refund. Luckily I was able to refund my own units, with a 10% penalty… and agreed to keep the units AVI mistakenly provided. Less than 24 hours later, AVI sent an email asking us to set up a time for the removal of the units.

3) Upgraded shower – we upgraded the shower to the glass door (instead of tub) for disability issues. The sales rep said this would be no problem and updated our change order forms. Two weeks later, they advised we would need to pay around (~$1800) for this upgrade – even though we already signed off on a $0.00 change order.

4) 9’ ceilings, down to 8’ – upon signing, we were told our ceilings would be 9’ – about 1 month later, we were advised this would be reduced to 8’ (or maybe 8.5’) – at this point in journey, we couldn’t even back out of the deal, although we should have.

5) 2nd floor versus 1st floor - upon purchase, we assumed we were signing papers for a unit on the 2nd floor of the building - upon move in, we were on the main floor. Explanation: This is technically the second floor because the elevation is a bit higher.

These are just a few key examples of what our experience was like, in addition to the below par customer service. Had I known then what I know now, I would have not purchased this home – Regrettable, I didn’t read some of the other reviews that probably would have given me an indication of what to expect. What a nightmare.

Entire team at Homes by Avy are professionals that go above and beyond. They are very innovative in the products and designs provided. This is our 4th home building experience and from the sales to the trades, from the knowledge to support team through each step - no equals. I definitely recommend Homes by Avy and will build with them again.

Homes by Avi was amazing for us! The whole process was excellent and we would recommend them to friends and family for sure. From the selection process to the building we were always kept in the loop and excited for the next week.
The sales staff (Amy and Reg) in the show home in Walden were great to deal with and always accommodating to us.

I have previously built four new homes in Calgary but this one, built by Homes By AVI supercedes all other experience. The customer service from Amy and Reg was incomparable. They were friendly, informative, kind and prompt. The workmanship was superior and I received so much more for the price. I recommend Homes by AVI for that extremely satisfying experience.

I have built a new home in community of Walden with Homes by Avi. From the signing of the contractor to selection process, then construction and moving in, the process has been seamless with Avi and I don't have much to complain. The sales team was helpful and friendly and house was completed with only minor warranty works. Will definitely recommend Homes by Avi to friends and consider it for builder for my future homes.

We had an amazing experience working with the entire Homes By Avi team. Reg and Amy were so informative and helpful throughout the whole buying process. Our possession date was right on time and went very smoothly! Any concerns we had were dealt with in a timely manner and with a courteous attitude, something we really appreciated. The area superintendent, Andy, is an absolute pleasure to deal with. You can tell he is an extremely experienced home builder and takes pride in every home he oversees.
Our kitchen was minimally upgraded and guests always comment on how much they love it and can't believe they were all standard selections! We know we made the right choice in buying a Homes By Avi house!

My husband and I had an incredible experience working with Home by Avi to build our dream home in Walden. Every department was run so efficiently and each group along the way made us feel so comfortable and assured us throughout the entire process.

Starting with the sales team, they walked us through everything we needed in an extremely efficient manner and was able to answer and assure us of all of our many questions and insecurities that come from clients who have never built a home before. There are many building choices to choose from with Homes By Avi and there is so much flexibility you can have with each house build you choose. The sales team is excellent at walking you through all of these options to make you feel comfortable and confident in the home you choose. The interior design team helped us through all of the detailed decision-making that was required and helped us pair colours and designs together that we would have never been able to put together ourselves. The standard packaging that Homes By Avi provides with their homes is very high-end and desirable. The marketing team was equipped with all the documentation any new home builder would ever want to have about building their first home and everything was put together very professional and organized. The warrantee team has been diligent at making sure all of our questions and items that need to be addressed with a new home were not only answered but also addressed extremely efficiently.

Everyone has been so wonderful to work with and we would highly recommend using Homes By Avi as the company to build your next home with!

From the beginning my experience with Homes by Avi has been nothing but positive. As a first time home buyer I had a lot of questions which were all answered and addressed. I was incredibly happy that they allowed me to make some changes here and there such as door height, flooring material, conduits for my now mounted TV etc. These changes made my home feel more personalized for my needs and wants. My 3 month warranty meeting is coming up and I have no complains. The sales team (Anita), Warranty (Nonie and Paul), construction (Kyle) have all been amazing to work with! I will always recommend Homes by Avi to my family and friends and they will be my first choice when I look at building my second home in the future.
