Meridian Windows & Doors (Alberta) Inc. No Longer In Business

So I got a flyer in the mail from meridian doors and windows. Said free upgrade to triple pane glass or 25% off windows for double pane and that they offered financing. So I decided to call them cuz I was in need of new windows, patio door and decided on a front door as well as a spur of the moment thing when the quote guy was in. So after he finished his quote, we went with the financing and was told everything was included in it. And boy was he wrong. First there product is pretty good. And installers where great, but that's all that was good. We where told 6 to 7 weeks for delivery for install, that turned out to 3 months for the patio door and front door, the 3 windows that were suppose to be installed where the wrong size. And their office was telling them to cut apart my walls to make then work. Thankfully the installers told me and they themselves refused to do it. So I had to wait another 3 months for the new windows and finally where installed in October. 7 months after the day I had the quote done. And now I have them phoning me to pay for the front door that was suppose to be included in the financing (which was handled by meridian) but they did not include it even tho it's marked off on the paperwork that it would be. Now I understand their side of it as I work in a industry that involves a lot of quoting and pricing but I have never seen this. First they phoned to say they screwed up and that I needed to pay them. And I explaned my side. Then I got another call to tell me I ether come up with solution to pay of they take legal action. Now my side is that I was told it be all financed or I wouldn't have the door installed. They never mentioned in those 7 months that it was never included into the financing, actually it was never mentioned at all. Now they told me today that they were not able to included the door into it because of financing limit. Which I was never told otherwise it wouldn't have been installed. But they put it in anyway and never said anything or said anything about it being separate from the quote. Aka a second quote and I didn't notice as I was told it was all in one and it would all be financed. Long story short there expecting payment ( which is understandable to a point). For there screw up, 3 months after everything was supposedly dealt with and and everything with this company was a mess. In my industry I work in if someone screws up like this the company takes the hit because things like this screw everything for people.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! DO NOT USE! FORCED TO GET A LAWYER!!

Over the last seven years I have renovated my entire house. I live in a century home and everything from the roof, to the floors to the walls all had to be redone. I can say without a shred of hesitation that Meridian Windows and Doors Alberta was hands down absolutely the worst company I've had the displeasure of dealing with over the last seven years.

I ordered my windows in August. They finally finished the service in December. Notwithstanding the delay, I wasted two days of booked time off for the scheduled installation only to get a phone call in the evening before (one of which I had to make to confirm the installation as I never heard from them) saying the window was still in Ontario. This happened TWICE after the ORIGINAL installation date.

They have the worst customer service of any company I've ever dealt with. Period. For the first time in my life I was forced to get a lawyer to deal specifically with Meridian and I'm sure that's the only reason the work got completed.

On top of the incredible bad communication, in the first go around, they installed a window crooked, left a mess, they removed parts of the house (which were a fight to get replaced), etc. Excuse after excuse about delays, how this was normal, work orders, my fault for not specifying something, and EVEN after they finally acknowledge that this had been a troubled file and agreed to send me a token for my troubles...they didn't even keep their word on that.

This job only got finished because of the fear of litigation. Simple as that. At the end of the day the work was completed although I didn't get anything for the trouble and I can't even imagine how this company stays in business. Several 'closed' complaints at the BBB should have given me rise to concern.

If you want sloppy work, world class terrible customer service, incredibly long wait times, a company who does not follow through on promises, then this company is for you! My recommendation, stay far away from them and go with someone local. Several companies make windows and doors in Alberta.

5 years ago we hired Meridian to replace almost all the windows to be more energy efficient. Fast forward to this year, we hired Meridian to replace and install the last window in our home. It was a big project and took 2 days to install a large bay window. The installers worked very hard to get the project done in time, right before the first snow storm in mid November. We are pleased with how it made our home look larger and brighter. We would recommend Meridian to our friends and family.

I order windows on Oct 7th. I was told that windows will be installed within 6 weeks.
Its been seven weeks now and windows have not been installed.
Upon my contacting, they said that windows are here since one week and next available installation appointment is one week from now. So it will two months from my order to install the windows.

They installed my windows more than 8 weeks, other than delay the job was well done

I ordered a sliding door in September, provided a down-payment, and the order was marked as rush so I would get it before the winter. I was told to expect arrival in 2 weeks and they would call. One month later I received a call asking why it was marked rush, and was told it would be 8 weeks from then. Well, it is now winter and I am very disappointed....I cancelled the order and I went with another company. I do not have a satisfactory explanation as to the delay and lack of communication to me, but they did give me my money back without a problem, so I am giving them 2 stars for that.

The crew did a great job replacing all my windows and doors. They enlarged my basement window and added a well around it. They also enlarged another window. The windows are great in quality and the installation was done right. The guys worked very hard and took pride in their work. I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting new windows and doors.

Needless to say more, this is my THIRD PROJECT, the Second one was last year, Patio Door replacement and they have done a wonderful job. Workmanship and quality of windows and doors installed in my property are exceptional. I have also recommended Meridian to my friends and they were completely satisfied too with how their projects were accomplished. Keep up with the good job guys.

Doors were installed separately as they forgot the screen door on the original installation. Scratches on both doors and screen door leaks. November and still waiting for service to come repair. Called once since Aug to schedule and I was going on holidays. Refused to book another date...stated they would call back. When I wonder and don't bother calling service department after 3:00 PM as they are all gone by then.
No one else willing to help either.
Following day Meridian, namely I gentleman named Sergio called me asking if he could come down and fix the issues with the doors. He showed up promptly, did exactly what needed to be done to fix the scratches on the outside door, and changed the windows on the screen door along with the handle that was not closing properly.
It took 8 weeks to get them to come and fix the problems with both doors but now that it is done I am extremely happy with both doors. Service takes forever, installation times were never when they said it would be in the day, but the product once installed, looks great.

We finally decided to replace our 30 yr old windows and doors and based on our friends recommendation I visited the Meridian Windows show room and was helped by their manager Sergey. Sergey was very patience and took his time to explain and show us all the options and designs of the new windows and doors, we found him very professional, honest, helpful and decide to go ahead and order the 12 windows and two doors for our home. After 5 weeks we received a call from the head office and they schedule the installation day. Yuri and his team shows professionalism and excellent attitude, they cover all working areas and cleaned it after finishing every window, they finished the work in two days as promised. Great company, excellent people, thank you Meridian.

In my parents - Window will fall out if opened, ledges all marked up. Never sealed kitchen as promised. Have no showed at least 5 times. Won't answer calls. Terrible service. Ripping off seniors!!
