Paul and his company provide a very great service. I did a wall opening and floor leveling which implied to set a post to hold the upper floor.

I am very satisfied with his work, his way of working and how explains every detail and problem.

This was my second time having Paul do work on my house. Paul and his helper did an excellent job removing my OSB sub floor and replacing it with plywood. The job required the stair railing removal and partition wall removal. The joists were blocked, the plywood cut and installed and the partition walls re-built. All went well and I am very happy with Paul's work again. Thanks Paul!

We found Paul on HomeStars and were impressed by his many great reviews. After our initial conversations with him, we found Paul to be professional, knowledgeable and very approachable. The initial scope of work included leveling and resheeting parts of the main floor, restructuring areas where walls had been removed to create a more open concept layout and framing new walls in one portion of the home. Even though the scope of work increased significantly as we found more defects in the home, as well as some changes we made, Paul was able to complete the job with just two days extra work and at a very reasonable price. Also, Paul and his crew left the house spotless and ready for the next trades to start their work. Working with Paul was honestly one of the best experiences we have had with a contractor. He was always available to answer any of our questions, offered practical solutions and strategies and is a pleasure to work with. We are looking forward to having Paul back for Phase 2 of our reno and have already recommended him highly to family and friends.

I first came to know Paul at PTR Carpentry by observing him working at my neighbour’s house outside on the deck in January. Everything about the job impressed me as I watched him as did a brief conversation I had with him. When I talked to my neighbor about the work, she said that she was thrilled as usual and that PTR Carpentry had done already four or five jobs for her. Knowing that every job was different, I also checked him out on Homestars, Better Business Bureau, etc, etc.

Paul is as fantastic as my neighbour and the other reviews on Homestars indicate. Everything about my job (full demo and reframe of the main floor of a house) was completed as promised, on time, and on budget. Paul and his crew are professional and wonderful to deal with. When changes have to be made, as seems to happen with any renovation, he had great solutions ready. When my driveway was damaged (not by PTR carpentry) by the dumpster company he said that he would deal with the company to have it fixed for no cost or effort to me. The other way I checked out Paul’s work after it was complete was by asking each of the trades going forward (flooring company, drywall contractor, plumber and electrician) how good a job the reframe was. All of them said it was one of the best reframe jobs they had ever seen, that it made their job easier, saved them time and likely saved me money!

I would strongly recommend Paul and PTR Carpentry. I have lots more work to do on my house and I will be calling Paul again and again!

Paul and his assistant were great. They completed frame, roof, and walls for a garage fast and with an excellent craftsmanship. Paul’s attention to last minute changes was excellent. Paul and his crew are simply amazing - fast, tidy, smart, fun (!), with attention to details and rock-solid conscience. His guidance before and during the work was always friendly, clear and right. And the execution was just as great - the project was on time, on budget and perfectly executed.

Paul offered a fair price. Our project was on a tight schedule and Paul was very understanding and helpful. His worker began and completed the project on time and with excellent craftsmanship. I will be using their services again for other projects in the house.

Paul was hired by my general contractor to prepare the framing for our first storey/basement addition in April. It was nice to find a skilled contractor who shows up early, works hard and finishes the project on time and on budget.
He had instant solutions to a couple of last minute changes. Paul is a professional and has a great sense of humor. I will definitely use Paul's services on any future projects

I would give Paul an 11 rating if I could. I am acting as a general contractor for a significant second storey addition to my own house. I have done this before and I know the demolition and framing is the most critical trade. I was pleased to find PTR on Homestars. Paul came out to my house to take on a very small job with very short notice. I needed to block a couple of floor joists and get one joist straightened which was twisted. The work was done in no time at all, all mess was cleaned up, and Paul made sure I was happy with everything before he left.

Not only was the work first class, but Paul was an absolute pleasure to talk to. He made time to take on a very small job, but it made a big difference for me.
