When we first met Paul we knew immediately that we wanted him to work on our renovation projects. We were both very impressed with his honesty and integrity. Paul is very professional and meticulous in his work. We had several renovation projects, including placement of a structural beam and framing for the basement. Paul was always punctual and his estimated time frame for completion was always exactly on schedule.

Paul was outstanding. Happy and impressed. He started our renovation off on a really good foot. It is unbelievable the amount of work accomplished in just 3 days. He did all the structural joist work for a new stair opening [turned out to be bang-on when it came time for the finish work later], put down a new T&G sub-floor, went above and beyond by making suggestions to the drawings that improved the overall design and saved a bit on materials [which were later incorporated into sister the floor joist on the second floor], helped me level a couple of beams that were a bit out of whack.

Everything was done to code [joist hangers, framing etc]. Passed inspection with flying colors.

I have recommended him to my neighbors and wouldn't hesitate to hire him again.

First I will say that I did numerous renovations in the past and I’ve met many tradesmen, but Paul from PTR carpentry is in a league of its own.
I found Paul on Homestars while looking for professionals to remove a load bearing wall and installing a steel post and beam according to a structural engineer design.
Paul gave me an approximate quote over the phone because I did not have access to the property. The minute I got the key we met and he confirmed his initial quote.
Immediately he made a great impression so I decided to use his services for sheathing the subfloor, shrinking the size of my kitchen window and removing a staircase leading to the basement and closing the floor.
Paul estimated that the job will take 4 days to complete. While sheathing the floors we encountered many issues with leveling the plywood, but Paul did an amazing job and did whatever he could to level my floor. It worked out great. During day 3 I asked Paul to build a frame for a washroom, a closet, and a small wall in my main floor.
Knowing Paul I knew he will charge me a reasonable price for the extra work I asked for. At the end of day 4, after the work was done, I asked Paul how much he wants for the extra work, his reply was $0!!!! He said that he finished the entire job within the 4 days that he planned so he won't charge me anything for the extra work, even though he had to buy more materials! I was blown away. Not to mention, he did a high-quality work, dealt with the city inspector, and left the place clean.
On a personal note- thank you Paul for a great work, it was amazing watching you and the crew work, I have learned a lot.

I found Paul in Homestars, and I have to say that I am 110% satisfied with the work that he did in our basement, 3 rooms were framed in one day, amazing, his tips regarding the size of door and other areas were just right, it makes sense, he did a bulk head for the ducting that I had to put down for then ew ducting, and he came back and rebuild that section for me at no additional cost, that is what I call going the extra mile with his customers... I will not hesitate to contact Paul for any carpentry/framing work in the future.

Paul Richardson keeps his word, he did a great job framing the basement rooms and the 2nd floor laundry room in 2 days, quicker than planned. He worked well with other trades and was willing to finish some other jobs at a reasonable price. I liked the way he made suggestions for type of doors, closets and the shower shape. We needed to build new stairs in our backyard and rebuild the front porch deck, stairs, and porch columns. We contacted a few carpenters and selected Paul for a few reasons: he was the most honest & down-to-earth of them all, he was clearly skilled in the trade, and his quote was competitive. Now that the job is complete, we are 150% certain that we made the right decision. His work ethic and craftsmanship are second to none. Our porch and stairs are STUNNING...we continue to get compliments on it from neighbours. Paul and his assistant, Marcin, worked during THE hottest week of the summer and I was quite literally blown away by their dedication and professionalism. I would recommend Paul without a doubt and plan on using him again the next time we need a carpenter.

We were in the process of having our basement finished and were looking for someone to frame it. I decided to go with Paul after reading all the great reviews on this site and were extremely pleased with the speed and especially the quality of the work by him and his helpers. Paul was always punctual and took the time to explain exactly what would be done, and at the end of the job Paul made sure that our place was left clean of all debris. All in all it was a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

I had some uneveness in my floors on my main and second floors. On short notice and with Paul's help, he determined that it was due to the fact that we were lacking support in our basement columns. He added new concrete footings and steel columns and jacked up my structure slowly to ensure that the beams were gradually leveled without causing too much damage.

I found Paul very honest and reasonable and would definitely call on him again for any future work.
